Alex rushes through the castle, occasionally spotting a few confused and scared vampires. They aren’t guards—just lower vampires working as servants. He ignores them all, seeing no benefit in wasting time dealing with them. Wasting his time, giving the confused vampires and goblins a chance to regain their sanity and an opportunity to chase after him, is not a smart idea in Alex’s book.

As planned, Alex makes his way back to the indoor garden and climbs the tree he spotted earlier. His giant icy wings, created by Sealion’s Icewing Embrace lvl 4, make climbing a hassle, but he decides to keep them conjured to avoid wasting Aura conjuring them again. Using all his Strength and Nen experience, Alex leaps toward the roof, easily clearing the distance and landing solidly on his feet. The impact is strong enough to crack a stone on the roof floor.

Without wasting a second, he sprints in the direction where he and the other wizards initially appeared. Once he reaches the edge of the roof, he simply jumps off, his icy wings allowing him to glide smoothly and quickly toward his goal.

Alex activates Gyo, carefully scanning the area where he’s arrived just a short time ago. With his enhanced vision, which also allows him to spot auras, he notices a few goblins in the distance, waiting.

They’re waiting at the boot! That’s my ticket back… but do I want to use this path? I could also head into the wild, spend a few days finding a random city, and then hitch a ride back to London. If I weren’t worried about that imbecile Fannlok bailing on me and taking my bow with him, I’d always pick the slow path. But… I’ll risk it this time. I have an idea.

Alex aims for a few nearby trees, his wings about to disappear anyway, and lands safely in the shadows. He notices the sun slowly setting and briefly considers waiting. However, still afraid of who might be following him, he decides to risk it all and act now.

Alex conjures Mustrano’s Malice Mauler lvl 4 again, activates Zetsu, and begins walking toward the goblins.

Hmm, it’s not a small distance between these trees and the goblins. Even with Zetsu, they’ll probably still spot me. Let’s see how much Aura I’ve got left.

Alex Kerber: Lvl 4

HP: 222/252, MP: 212/212, AURA: 112/192

Still looking good…

Alex conjures two more Annihilation Grenades lvl 4, losing around 50 units of Aura.

I can’t risk taking it slow! Who knows who’s after me?! I’ll just act now.

He uses In to hide the freshly conjured grenades and pushes Zetsu to its limits, trying to completely erase any trace of Aura. Then, he hastily jogs toward the goblins. However, Alex can’t help but notice there are around 10 goblins waiting, all looking in different directions—mostly toward the castle and not the opposite direction.

He quickly runs a wide arc around them until he’s finally able to approach from behind.

Now it’s time for some payb…

Alex’s thoughts are interrupted as he spots multiple goblins in the distance, running from the castle and being chased by numerous vampires.

SHIT, NO TIME TO WASTE.

As Alex approaches, he overhears the goblin stationed at the portkey discussing: “Look, they’re all bloody! They’re getting chased! Things must have gone bad—look at the sheer number of vampires. We better leave. It’s time to bail.”

As Alex approaches, he draws his [Sword of Pluto] and [Shield of Pluto], unwilling to even consider a peaceful solution.

Another goblin argues, “FOOL! We can’t abandon our brothers! It’s time to support them! We can flee later!”

“Shut up!” the leader of the group snaps. “I’ll decide what we’re doing. It’s neither time to bail nor time to support them. In fact, it’s time…”

“TIME TO DIE!!” Alex screams, throwing the lit grenades into the crowd and unleashing a Fire Sword lvl 4 on the leader. He aims for the neck, hitting it but failing to behead the leader thanks to his armor partially covering it.

Despite not beheading him, 330 points of damage are more than enough to kill his enemy. The leader’s neck loses integrity, turning into a smashed, disfigured mess. The flames boil his blood, filling the surrounding air with a nasty, metallic smell.

Alex ducks, quickly hiding behind his [Shield of Pluto] as the grenades explode nearby. Despite his incredible LUK, he feels shrapnel hitting his shield, though it does no damage to him.

As soon as the shrapnel hits, he lowers his shield and glances at his combat messages.

8 dead! So, two should be alive.

Alex sees one goblin screaming in pain, holding his hands over numerous shrapnel wounds, his body quite bloody and pierced in multiple places. Alex charges at him and strikes with his [Sword of Pluto], but another goblin, seemingly unharmed, uses magic to make Alex’s sword float into the air, forcefully getting ripped out of his hand.

Alex just ignores it, letting go of the sword, and sprints ahead, using Mustrano’s Malice Mauler lvl 4 to pierce the claw straight into the neck of his wounded enemy.

“YOU ARE THE LAST ONE, DIE!” Alex screams, his improved mental state clearly overtaken by bloodlust—perhaps partly influenced by Mustrano but also fueled by his anger at the goblins’ attempt on his life. He’s already sentenced every last one of them to death.

The final goblin unleashes another spell, the same one that made Alex’s sword levitate.

I can’t dodge, but the solution is simple.

Alex simply raises his [Shield of Pluto], and the spell hits it, forcefully lifting it into the air. However, nothing happens to Alex, who raises his claw, ready to strike.

“Wait, human… Please, I ca…”

Alex uses Toxic Breakthrough lvl 4, driving his claw hand into the goblin’s chest.

“DIE!” Alex screams, adrenaline and bloodlust coursing through his body and mind.

Alex strikes the goblin two more times with his claw hand, slashing at his head. The goblin desperately raises his hands to block Alex’s attack, managing to deflect the first strike but leaving his small arms wounded and blown to the side. The second strike claws at his face, ripping out one of his eyes in the process.

Alex’s brutal assault causes the goblin to roll around on the ground in pain, blood spraying everywhere. Alex then focuses his Aura on his [Sabatons of Pluto] and stomps down on the nearly dead goblin’s head, easily cracking his skull and silencing him for good.

“Good riddance,” Alex says, his hatred for goblins at a peak level.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. It won’t happen a third time! These greedy creatures can’t be trusted.

Alex notices the goblins and vampires quickly approaching, urging him to quickly flee. He quickly sees the magic around his sword and shield disappearing and skillfully catches his equipment as it falls down. He also spots two more white chests lying next to the dead goblins and quickly picks them up.

Alex then decides to conjure one last Annihilation Grenade lvl 4, sets the fuse to exactly three seconds, and activates it. The fuse lights up with a purple flame as he places the grenade directly next to the boot before touching it. He quickly disappears, unable to witness the explosion.

As Alex experiences the same chaotic teleportation once more, he finds himself back in the room where the guards had led him to the major’s gathering.

Alex looks around and spots numerous goblins, including the mayor, all staring at him in shock—still wearing his mask.

I have multiple choices, but the best one would be…

With a confident walk, Alex approaches the mayor. Multiple goblins panic in confusion, but Alex speaks up in a loud and clear voice.

“...Your attempt at sacrificing us wizards to the vampires backfired spectacularly. They weren’t satisfied and killed your own kind as well. I’ve already sent out a few messages. If you kill me now, everything that happened will become public. Ten wizards disappearing? People will ask questions! I’ve even included a memory of mine as proof. However… I’m inclined not to become your enemy. I’m ready to swear on my magic to keep what happened here to myself… on one condition. You won’t ask about my identity, and you multiply the reward by 100. Make it 50,000 Galleons, will you? If not, you can kill me, but I’ll take a dozen of you with me. Trust me, explosions are my forte! Your choice, goblin!”

Alex arrogantly proclaims, his tone a mix between calculated, confident, and crazy.
