Fantasy World: Seducing The Heroine At The Start-Chapter 137: Returning to the Maple Leaf City
Feng Yun stood by the window of his study, looking out at the shimmering cityscape. The faint glow of lanterns reflected in his eyes, yet his thoughts were already far beyond the city walls.
Behind him, footsteps approached—steady, unhurried, and familiar.
"The Sword Saint", Feng Yun said softly without turning around. "You’re still awake."
The old man chuckled lightly. "At my age, one sleeps lightly. And besides," he said, stepping closer, "so you are leaving tonight."
Feng Yun gave a small nod. "It’s time. The shop is running smoothly, and the city is stable for now. My clan... they’ve been out of my reach for too long."
The Sword Saint sighed, a faint smile curling on his lips. "You remind me of my young self sometimes—stubborn, but with a heart that never forgets where it came from."
Feng Yun extended a small jade token toward the old man. The surface of the jade flickered faintly with intricate symbols.
"These are the formation keys," he said. "They’ll allow you to control the protective and sealing arrays I’ve placed around the shop and the mansion. If anyone dares to cause trouble, you can activate them instantly."
The Sword Saint accepted the token carefully, feeling the faint hum of spiritual energy within. "With me here, nobody will dare to cause any trouble."
Feng Yun smiled faintly. "I know."
He reached into his spatial ring and summoned several large boxes, each one engraved with the emblem of his shop. When they landed softly on the ground, a subtle medicinal fragrance filled the air.
"These are the current goods—seven different products we’ve released so far. Pills, liquids, teas... enough supply for a month of sales."
Feng Yun replied. "Even if I’m gone for some time, the business must not fall behind. As long as the shop continues to operate normally."
The Sword Saint finally spoke, his voice quieter. "Are you certain you want to go alone? The Blood Demon Sect may not know of your clan yet, but they’ll move again soon. You could use an escort."
Feng Yun shook his head. "No. The more people I bring, the more attention I’ll attract. And your presence is necessary here. I will leave quietly. I need to see my clan’s condition and strengthen them quietly. If anyone learns of our connection, it could put them in danger."
"If anything happens here, use the formations and contact me through the jade slip I left in your chamber. I’ll respond immediately."
The Sword Saint gave a low hum. "Go, then. Black Plain City will remain in one piece—I’ll see to that."
Feng Yun inclined his head slightly in respect. "Thank you. For everything."
"Bah," the old man waved dismissively, though there was warmth in his eyes. "You don’t need to thank me. Just return safely."
Feng Yun nodded once more, then turned toward the open balcony. The moonlight bathed his figure, outlining him in pale silver.
"I’ll be back soon," he said softly.
And with that, his figure blurred—vanishing into the night like a whisper, leaving behind only the faint trace of his aura.
The Sword Saint stood there for a long moment, gazing at the empty balcony, his expression calm but thoughtful.
...
A few minutes later...
Far beyond the glittering lights of Black Plain City, two figures emerged silently under the vast night sky.
Feng Yun and Wang Ruo stood side by side, their robes fluttering lightly in the cold wind. The city behind them had already faded into the horizon—its noise, its lights, its life—all swallowed by distance and silence.
Feng Yun turned his palm, and a faint golden mist swirled around them before vanishing completely. "Done," he murmured. "Our auras are completely concealed."
He reached into his storage ring, and a ripple of light spread through the air. A few breaths later, a sleek, black flying ship materialised before them—engraved with glowing runes and faint sword-like patterns that shimmered along its hull.
The ship was elegant yet imposing, its shape resembling a soaring hawk ready to cut through the clouds.
"Come," Feng Yun said, stepping aboard first.
Wang Ruo followed, the wooden deck humming softly beneath her feet as the ship awakened. She ran her fingers over the glowing lines on the railing, a faint smile curving her lips. "Young master, this ship is even better than Sister Lingxi’s ship."
He chuckled. "Of course. The Heavenly Wind Ark is fast enough to outpace any ordinary flight treasure, and its stealth array can mask us from most divine senses. It’s perfect for long journeys."
The ship trembled slightly as he infused it with spiritual energy. The runes flared to life, spreading along the hull like veins of light. With a low hum, the Heavenly Wind Ark lifted off the ground, slicing smoothly through the air.
The world blurred beneath them—mountains, rivers, and forests shrinking into streaks of shadow and silver under the moonlight.
The cold wind brushed across their faces, carrying the scent of pine and spirit essence. The ship continued soaring through the night, leaving behind trails of faint light that dissolved quickly into the clouds.
Hours passed quietly. The stars shifted, and the first light of dawn began to creep over the horizon, painting the sky with shades of gold and crimson.
Feng Yun adjusted the course slightly, glancing at the jade compass floating beside him. "At this speed, we’ll reach Maple Leaf City in a few hours."
Feng Yun sat down on the reclining chair on the deck and invited Wang Ruo to sit on his lap. Feng Yun teased Wang Ruo while enjoying the beautiful starry sky.
...
Time passed quickly...
The sun had already climbed halfway into the sky when the Heavenly Wind Ark descended toward the Maple Leaf City.
Below, the familiar landscape stretched out — green fields, winding rivers, and the distant glimmer of city walls surrounded by blooming maple trees. The red leaves fluttered in the wind, scattering like drops of fire across the countryside.
Feng Yun looked at the familiar Maple Leaf City, compared to the Black Plain City, the Mapple Leaf City was really too small.
