Fate Reignites: My Rampage in a World Where Time Stops-Chapter 308 - 285: The Spark Under the Calamity (Two-in-One) (Additional Chapter for 6300 Monthly Tickets in May)_2
In the next instant, blazing fire shot up into the sky.
"Boom!!!"
The fiery flames transformed into a several-hundred-meter-tall wall of fire, instantly intercepting the Dragons as they attempted to leave. Rollicking waves of heat surged as the extreme temperature caused the light around them to gradually distort, and both the sky and the ground were instantly bathed in red.
The Dragon, nearly colliding with the firewall, froze in place, feeling the scorching heat rolling in. Its vertical pupils contracted to pinpoints as it stared distantly towards a certain place.
From the ruins of a demolished building, a man walked out slowly.
He had golden short hair and deep, lake-like blue eyes, partially obscured by his half-framed, gold-rimmed glasses.
The man held an open book up against his chest calmly. After taking his place, he locked gazes with the Dragon high above from afar.
"Snap—"
The book closed, issuing a light sound.
The man's tranquil voice echoed throughout the battlefield of ruins.
"I'm a step late, but not too late."
Seeing that familiar yet strange face, countless Transcendents around the world couldn't help but exclaim.
He was almost forgotten, or has become the butt of jokes after dinner times for many.
He once was the most arrogant among those with Gold Talent until he lost his own and vanished after paying a heavy price.
And now, he had returned!
Lion Eric!
Just one strike to halt the rampaging Dragon was proof enough of his strength, comparable to his foe.
Could he win?
He must win!
Even those who never liked Eric before were now desperately hoping he would emerge victorious.
At the very least, they hoped he could hold off the Dragon until the other Hall Level Players arrived.
The Dragon warrior let out a sinister laugh; the next moment, it abandoned the original thought of departing and, holding the giant sword, it launched towards Eric.
Its massive wings beat powerfully once, and the Dragon disappeared in place as if it had used Instant Teleportation, appearing before Eric in the next moment. Its giant sword swung horizontally, as if to bisect Eric.
"Clang—"
The sound of metal clashing rang across the battlefield; the Dragon's giant sword was blocked.
What stood in front of its blade was a hand.
Eric held the closed book with one hand and turned his other hand into radiant gold, grasping the Dragon's sword firmly, preventing it from moving any further.
The Dragon's expression changed rapidly as it vigorously tried to pull the sword back but found the other's hand to be like iron pincers, securely clamping the blade.
"Is this all the strength you have?" Eric asked calmly, "It seems that in the Epic Rank, you are on the weaker side."
He threw the closed book up into the air above his head and with the now-free hand, clenched into a fist, he quickly struck at the Dragon. Blazing firelight burst forth in that instant, enveloping Eric's form in sweeping flames as his might climbed higher and higher.
His fist, wreathed in flames and carrying blazing heat, pierced through the Dragon's chest, turning the creature renowned for its physical resilience to ash in a heartbeat.
The next moment, the flames dissipated.
Eric retracted his hand from the floating ashes and caught the falling book.
The red firelight slowly faded from his eyes, like a raging volcano returning to calm, transforming into a clear, contained pond.
Amidst countless stunned stares, Eric walked into the instance portal.
Five minutes later, the portal was destroyed, and the crisis was averted.
-----------------
In the western part of The Sun Never Sets.
A graceful silhouette emerged from the instance portal.
Behind her, the entrance to the instance portal rapidly contracted and eventually vanished from sight.
The countless onlookers watching this scene erupted into cheers, with "Zefina" being shouted excitedly from all directions.
"That's amazing!" Oriel hurried over, first to embrace Zefina, who had successfully destroyed a Class B instance portal, but then shivered and quickly stepped back, looking at Zefina in surprise, "Hey, why are you so cold?"
"I just fought an Ice Attribute Epic Rank," Zefina replied calmly, and then slipped into the car that was already waiting.
"Okay then." Oriel spread her hands and followed Zefina, sitting in the backseat.
Observing Zefina, who was resting with eyes closed and exuding a cold aura, Oriel tactfully remained silent, sitting quietly aside.
Meanwhile, in Zefina's mind, a gentle, mysterious voice began to resonate.
"You and the power of the Heavenly Dome Rank have a considerable compatibility, and the boost it has brought you, I believe you've already felt it."
"This is just an A-rank passage, if there were higher-level passages, the power you could obtain would be even greater."
"As for the temporary chill and palpitations, there's no need to worry about them."
"This is just a natural reaction to gaining new strength; once you're accustomed to it, it will get better."
Zefina nodded slightly in response, and once the presence of the Restless had faded, she slowly opened her eyes.
Feeling the chill around her gradually recede, she opened the window and stared out absently, stretching out a hand and lightly touching the delicate pendant hanging from her necklace, as if on autopilot.
Oriel, noticing Zefina's activity, breathed a sigh of relief, then stepped forward to embrace Zefina's arm, her gaze instinctively falling on the gently swaying pendant, "Zefina, do you feel like the pendant we bought today looks a bit familiar?"
"The styles of jewelry make no difference to me," Zefina spoke calmly, "It caught my eye, so I bought it on a whim."
"Alright then," Oriel muttered softly, "I thought it was... Ouch!"
"There are more than a dozen instances coming up, cut the smiling and joking," Zefina withdrew her hand, leaving a pitiful-looking Oriel behind.
-----------------
Yanjing time, 7:30 PM, 8 B-rank and 1 A-rank instances descended simultaneously.
The A-rank instance descended over the Black Sea in West Asia.
"I should depart now," Qin Chuan said to Lin Yue beside him.
"Go ahead," Lin Yue responded with a smile at Qin Chuan.
"The other A-rank instance, leave it to me."
"Alright," Qin Chuan glanced at the rapidly descending helicopter, then gave Lin Yue's delicate and boneless hand a pinch, "Be careful."
"You too."
Soon, after a smooth transfer, Qin Chuan sat in the new generation fighter jet, which, after Transcendent modifications, could travel at nearly ten times the speed of sound; Feng Yin's voice came through his headset.
"Expect to reach the scene in thirty minutes. Two teams led by Hall Level Transcendents have arrived near the passage and will attempt to control the situation before you arrive."
"Got it," Qin Chuan replied calmly, "How are the 8 B-rank instances faring?"
"The other seven are not a problem, but the B-rank instance in White Bear Country has run into a small issue," Feng Yin's voice carried a bit of peculiarity, "The Hall Rank player who was supposed to be deployed there hasn't arrived yet, but a twelve-year-old girl has gone straight into the passage."
"Hmm?" Qin Chuan blinked, the image of a certain person coming to mind, feeling somewhat amused and frustrated, "Don't worry, she should have the strength to destroy the passage."
-----------------
In the eastern part of White Bear Country, Kancha Province.
A giant portal appeared in the sky above, with numerous Transcendents watching it warily as if facing a great enemy, while not forgetting to stay vigilant of their surroundings.
"Did anyone find out the identity of the little girl who just went in?" shouted the leading Transcendent, "What are you all good for? Can't even stop a single person?"
The expressions of the other Transcendents were odd.
Who the hell would expect someone to voluntarily dive into the passage?
"Defend this place! Wait for the Hall Rank players to conduct the rescue!" the leader shouted, "If another person gets in, I'll blow your heads off with one shot!"
After speaking, he couldn't help showing a worried look.
Hurry up, hurry faster!
Inside the passage, a little girl with twin ponytails, hands in her pockets, looked at the increasing number of Hall Rank opponents around her.
Surrounded by them, three Epic Rank beings stepped forward, their gazes mockingly set on her.
"A human child."
"Her scent must be delicious."
"You're really twisted, but I like it..."
The three Epic Rank beings taunted the little girl with a back-and-forth exchange.
Oblivious to their malicious stares, the girl spat out the grass root from her mouth.
"Everyone should be here by now."
If it weren't for the B-rank Secret Realm dropping right on her head.
If Lion Eric hadn't acted just an hour ago, and she had no interest in appearing weaker than him.
She wouldn't have wanted to intervene.
Golden light soared into the sky, the terrifying might sweeping through the entire instance passage in an instant, causing everything nearby to shake violently.
Watching the expressions of the three Epic Rank beings stiffen rapidly, the little girl spoke softly.
"Let's end this boring fight quickly."
