Fated To Four Alphas Even Though I Am Mute-Chapter 32: Mistress
Heaven’s POV
I looked down at my hand, not being able to say anything.
"Tell me Heaven, do you remember me?" Remus asked again.
" she can’t talk," had a fake smile on her face, like she was saying that she was glad that I couldn’t talk.
She came closer, trying her very best to get between Remus and me. It was obvious that she wouldn’t stand Remus looking at me alone.
She was used to every attention, everywhere she went. She wants all the love and attention to herself, and seeing Remus give me all of that attention was making her angry.
"What do you mean?" Remus asked. He sounded annoyed that she had spoken and interrupted us, but he didn’t even look at her. He still kept on looking at me like he was trying to read my mind.
"She’s mute, she has been mute since her parents died," Sofia said with fake sadness as she passed her finger across her neck to indicate death.
She was gesturing death, how can she be so cruel to turn my parents into a joke?
I saw pity in Remus’s eyes. He looked at me with so much sadness that it made me look away. He looked like he wanted to hold me and hug me.
Sofia didn’t like that he was still ignoring her. So she puffed out her chest and cleared her throat.
"My father is the new Beta," she said proudly. It was like she was trying so hard to tell him that she was more important than I am.
"I’m glad to see you again, Heaven," Remus said to me.
He totally ignored Sofia. He didn’t even acknowledge that she was standing right next to us. It looked like she was invisible to him.
She was always considered the perfect and the most beautiful one, and here she was being ignored and being treated like nothing by a powerful Alpha.
I didn’t even look at her, but I could feel her anger and I liked it.
Damian noticed the awkwardness and he saw that Remus was ignoring Sofia completely, which he didn’t like. After all, Sofia was the favorite.
"This is Sofia," Damian said, moving closer to introduce her.
"Oh, and who may that be?" Remus asked as he finally looked at her for the first time, and he didn’t even look friendly. It was the kind of look you give to someone when they distract you from something important
Sofia quickly cutsied again. She tried to look elegant but instead she looked desperate. It was so embarrassing. She was trying so hard to be noticed by someone who didn’t give a fuck about her.
"So embarrassing," I thought to myself. It was super cringe, and it made it painful to watch.
"Don’t tell me you’ve gotten a mistress for yourself less than two days after your wedding?" Remus laughed. It was so loud that everyone around us stopped talking and turned their heads to see what was happening.
My heart began to beat really fast. He was calling Sofia a mistress in front of everyone, and it was the best thing that had ever happened.
I looked up at Sofia and her face was already red from embarrassment. She had finally found someone to put her in her place. It was really funny, and I couldn’t stop laughing in my head.
"I specifically invited the Alphas and Luna, and not your mistress," Remus said with a smirk. He was obviously enjoying the chaos he created.
Damian sighed. I saw his finger twitch at his side, which was a sign of anger. I knew this because I always watched him, and his finger would twitch when he was angry.
He was also embarrassed, but he had to protect their reputation. If everyone thought that they had brought their mistress to their own wedding ball, it would be disastrous, and there would be a stain on their title.
"No, like she said, she’s the daughter of the Beta of our pack and she’s Heaven’s best friend. Heaven requested that she should be invited so that she wouldn’t be alone. Isn’t that right, Heaven?"
What? My best friend? That was a very big lie. At least they could have found another lie to suit them. Why would they say she was my best friend and that I invited her?
I looked at the so called best friend. She had betrayed me, and now she wanted me to save her and the Alphas.
I don’t know what to do. Maybe I should shake my head and say no, or maybe I should just expose the truth about everything. I could say that the Alphas and Sofia were together and that I was the last thing they wanted in their life, but I didn’t want to do that because it would ruin them. It would even get me punished or even killed.
The pressure was all on me. Most of the guests were waiting for my reply, but I was still thinking.
Suddenly, I felt a painful pinch on my waist. It was Damian, he squeezed my skin so hard that I began to whine, so I nodded my head to make him stop.
The moment I nodded, the guests looked away and they thought I was confirming what Damian had said.
Remus nodded his head too, but I knew that he didn’t believe me. He knew the Alphas too well to know what they could do. Plus, he knew that I was scared for my life, so I had lied.
"Aren’t you going to keep interrogating us, cousin?" Desmond said. He sounded bored, as if he was tired of life itself.
"You’re Alphas, it’s your wedding ball after all," he said as he stepped aside for us.
I noticed that he still had his eyes on me even as we started moving, and it made my heart beat faster, but I ignored it because I knew it was wrong. Since I was already married and mated to the quadruplets, it was wrong to feel this way about someone else.
As we walked towards the main hall to our table, Dylan tried to act like everything was okay. He looked at Remus and asked, "And remind me why you haven’t found your mate yet?"
Remus stopped walking, he stopped to look at the quadruplets.
"I did find my mate, but I rejected her," Remus said.
The brothers were shocked. Rejecting a mate was a huge deal and it was something that a wolf would never do because of the pain that they would both feel for eternity.
"Why did you do that?" Dylan asked
Remus smiled and turned to me, looking directly at me.
"I am waiting for someone, and she is more precious than anyone else."
My face turned scarlet red, I looked down at my feet immediately and my chest was beating so fast. Why was he looking at me while saying that? Was he really talking about me?
Damian drew me closer to him by my waist. He probably knew what Remus was talking about. My heart was fluttering at Remus, which is really wrong. I shouldn’t be feeling butterflies in my stomach because of him.
