Heaven’s POV

I was still standing there, shook, as Desmond’s hand was in the air. His eyes were wide open.

"Fuck!" Desmond yelled as he put his hand down to his side. He was obviously shocked by what had almost happened.

Before I could even process that I was still alive, he grabbed my arm and yanked me toward him. He pulled me so close that I felt his heavy breath on my face.

"I almost killed you!" he yelled. His hands were shaking. The Almighty Alpha Desmond was shaking.

He looked past me at Remus, then back at me. He looked angry. "So you want to sacrifice yourself for him? Do you like Remus that much? Answer me! You whore!" he asked.

I was trying to explain that I did this for him so that he wouldn’t get hurt anymore. I was looking out for him, and I felt guilty for causing their fight.

I stared at him with my mouth wide open. I moved to say something, then I remembered that I couldn’t. I was so scared, but I was hurt even more.

He was accusing me of being unfaithful when he and his brothers were the ones being unfaithful.

They had done all sorts of things to me and even tied me to a chain to watch them fuck their mistress just hours after our wedding. And now, I was the whore?

"I see that you still don’t know how to cherish something precious, Desmond," Remus said, laughing. It was obvious he was trying to provoke him. He knew exactly which button to push to make Desmond lose his mind.

Desmond roughly let go of my arm and pushed me to the side. He was about to start another round of fighting, but Dylan and Damon came behind and held him firmly.

"Enough Desmond, people are watching," Damon whispered low enough that only I and Remus could hear.

Desmond looked around and realized that they had caused a serious scene and people had gathered to watch so he remained still.

Damon and Dylan let go of him when they saw that he had finally calmed down.

"I was beginning to have feelings towards you again, but you just had to ruin it," Desmond said.

Tears fell from my eyes. He was always the one ruining things.

I looked at the brothers and they had the same expression of "I knew this was going to happen."

Sofia snapped her head towards us when she heard what Desmond had said. She came closer to us.

"How can you have feelings for this thing? She doesn’t deserve it, Desmond," Sofia said.

"She’s a whore, and thank the Goddess that you’ve finally seen it yourself and I’m sure she was trying to seduce Alpha Remus." She said this facing the crowd as if she was giving a speech.

Then she moved closer to me. "And you, stay away from the quadruplets and Alpha Remus,"

Sofia said, pointing a finger at me. I should stay away from Alpha Remus? Since when was she worried about him? She’s obviously the fucking whore.

She suddenly pushed me and I almost fell to the ground, but I managed to hold myself still.

I looked around at the guests and they were pointing and murmuring. They were judging me based on the lies Sofia was pouring out. She was the same girl who stole my mate and betrayed me.

Then I suddenly snapped. I walked over to Sofia, grabbed her hair, and yanked it back.

I didn’t know what came over me, but I felt a need to deal with her. I have had enough of Sofia’s blabbering, maybe a demon had possessed me and it made me wonder where I got the sudden strength from.

I was so angry. I was angry at the way she had treated me for the past six years and how she had practically run my life.

Most importantly, she had ruined my dress today.

As I held her hair with one hand, I used the other hand to hold a part of her dress and forcefully dragged it down. I tore it from the shoulder down to her chest. It was the most satisfying feeling ever. I wanted her to feel utterly humiliated.

"Ahhh! Let me go!" she screamed, but I held her still by her hair.

"Save me!"

She stretched her hand towards the quadruplets, but they just stood there. They were totally surprised by my sudden strength since they had never seen me fight Sofia back.

Seconds later, someone grabbed my waist and lifted me off my feet, away from Sofia to separate us.

When Sofia was away, I turned back and saw Damon. His hand was on my waist.

I shoved his hands away. At this point, I didn’t want to be anywhere close to them or to ever have any physical contact with them. The mate bond was enough already.

When Sofia had pushed me and insulted me, they didn’t say a single word to stop her. But the second they saw me retaliating and defending myself, they rushed to save their precious mistress.

Sofia was crying now as Dylan and Damon were holding her still.

"See what she did to me! She tore my dress," Sofia said, crying.

Dylan quickly moved, pulled off his suit jacket, and covered her naked skin.

Sofia was crying real tears. Normally, she would pretend like she was really crying to manipulate the quadruplets to give her all their attention, but this time it was real tears. She was actually crying because of me, and it felt good.

I turned to look at the crowd that had gathered to watch. We had given them something to talk and gossip about for the whole week.

Then my eyes landed on Remus. He smiled and gave me a thumbs up. He was cheering because I had stood up for myself.

"Do something! She hurt me!" Sofia said, still crying heavily.

Dylan let go of her and came to stand in front of me and I took a step back. I knew what he wanted to sy, knew he was going to scold me or punish me so I didn’t want to stay and listen to him.

The last thing I heard was Sofia’s crying voice, and I felt nothing but happiness. My was heart filled with complete joy.
