Chapter 68: A Mistake

Sofia POV

Bia and Mia were leaving my room . They still had tears on their faces.

The moment they opened the door to my room, They froze.

"What are you standing there for?" I asked frowning.

But when I came to see what was at the door that made them freeze and I froze too.

Damon was standing right there at the hallway in front of my room door.

Bia and Mia looked terrified and they quickly bowed their heads lowly to him.

"Alpha Damon," They said in unison with their voice shaky.

They didn’t wait for him to dismiss them. The just squeezed past him and ran down the hall way. Damon watched them go.

I stood there feeling like I had done something really really terrible. I began to panic. How long had he been standing there? Hope he didn’t hear how I agreed to keep the twins secret.

Damon walked into the room and slowly looked around the room as he was suspicious of me.

My hands started to sweat. I clasped them together behind my back so he wouldn’t see.

"Damon baby. What are you doing here?

"I was looking for you and Damian said

you were here so I came to check." He said.

but he wasn’t smiling like he usually does. I nodded as I tried to appear composed

when in truth I was panicking

"So... what were they doing here? He asked

My heart began beating fast as I began searching for excuses.

I laughed nervously. "Oh those girls? I asked pointing towards the door.

"They came to help me pack up some of the dresses that I left here but they annoyed me so I told them to get the fuck out," I said then gave him a small smile.

He came forward and stood in front of me. I thought he didn’t believe and was going to question me further.

Instead, he drew me closer to me and hugged me. I hugged him back too but I wasn’t satisfied.

"You naughty Alpha. How long were you standing by the door?" I asked him jokingly but was serious.

"Mmm, I think I heard everything." He said.

I began to panic again. Oh my goodness

he heard everything about me telling them

that I would help them keep their secret about them trying to hurt Heaven.

He released me from the hug and held my with both his hands. and we locked eyes with each other.

I forced my self to remain still so that he wouldn’t feel how nervous I was.

"Relax, Sofia. I can literally hear your heart beating really fast!!"

"I didn’t hear anything. I was just teasing," He said.

"Really?" I asked. He nodded and I immediately breath a sign of relief.

I softly hit him on his chest and he jokingly acted as if it hurt.

"You almost gave me a heart attack?" I said clinching my chest.

"What didn’t you want me to hear?" He asked tilting his head to the side.

He looked a little bit serious, that was when I realized that I had said something that made it look like I was guilty.

My hand went to my head and I scratched my temple.

"Huh?" I said. looking down at my hand

Maybe if I acted like I didn’t know what he was talking about then it was going to die down. But he didn’t back down.

"I know!" He said. He took my hand and held it in his.

I froze as I looked up at him. "You know what?

"I know what you said to them." Damon said.

Oh my goddess, He knows what I said. What is he going to do now? I am finished.

"You said many bad things to them, didn’t you," He said

I looked into his eyes and blinked my eyes rapidly. What in the world was he talking about.

"I saw tears in their eyes. Did you think I wouldn’t know that you made them cry by insulting them?" Damon said smiling.

So Damon thought that they were crying because I had insulted them? Okay! He didn’t suspect anything then. My talent of hurting people lower than me had finally saved me.

I nodded my head rapidly to confirm what he had said when it was a lie. Although I made them cry but that was not the reason.

He drew me for another hug. This one was more deeper. Damon breath a sigh of relief which meant that something was bothering him.

"What is it?" I whispered into his ears.

He sighed and I felt his hot breath on my shoulder.

"They haven’t found out who tried to hurt Heaven," he said worried.

I rolled my eyes. Of course. He was going to

talk about Heaven when we were together.

"What if they do it again?" He asked

I couldn’t take it anymore. He was thinking about that bitch when I was the one here with him.

I released myself from his embrace and took one step back.

"Damon, why are you thinking about that thing when I am here with you?" I asked.

"You have a rare gem in front of you and you’re still thinking about a mere servant."

"No, Sofia. That not it. You’ve misunder-

standing me," Damon said but I wasn’t really to listen to him.

He was thinking about her while hugging me, end of story.

"Today you four, left me all alone here just to go save her and I even stoop myself low just to find out who tried to hurt that thing all because of you and this is what I get? You thinking about her when you’re here with me?" I said

I was sobbing by now but it was all fake.

But the hurt was real though. I felt really hurt that they were paying attention to her.

Damon came closer to me and put his hands

on my shoulder.

"I know Sofia. I know that you’re being

understanding towards us and I’m sorry that we hurt you. But I was not thinking about Heaven." He Said.

I looked up at him and frowned. "Don’t

call that name again," I said and he nodded

"Okay. I’ll call her a mate," Damon said.

"What that was worse Damon" I said and he looked confused.

"Then what should I call her?" he asked as he raised his eyebrows.

"She’s a mistake so call her that," I said looking away.

He couldn’t even call that mute thing what she truly was.
