Chapter 624: Chapter 624: Is the Child His?

Nicole came into Ivy Linden’s room, insisting on sleeping with her.

Ivy looked at the little girl’s red and swollen eyes, knowing she must have just cried. She lovingly embraced Nicole and said to the nanny who hadn’t left the room, "Nicole will sleep with me tonight. If Howard Yeats asks, let him come to me."

"This..."

The nanny was a bit troubled.

Nicole suddenly said to the nanny, "If you don’t listen, I’ll have Uncle Yeats fire you."

Startled, the nanny responded, "I’ll listen to you and leave right now."

After the nanny left,

Ivy helped Nicole change clothes. Seeing the little girl holding her pocket, she smiled curiously, "Nicole, what treasure are you hiding in your pocket? Show it to Mommy, okay?"

Nicole hesitated, asking Ivy, "Mommy, is Uncle Yeats also someone who favors boys over girls?"

Ivy frowned at Nicole’s strange question, wondering who was gossiping in front of her.

"Why would Nicole ask that? Who told you this?"

"Mommy, answer me first."

Ivy was more convinced that someone had been feeding Nicole nonsense.

"How could that be? Uncle Yeats really likes Nicole! That proves he’s not that kind of person."

"Daddy also likes Nicole, but Grandma doesn’t. Daddy went to have a child with another woman." As she said this, tears formed and rolled down Nicole’s tender cheeks.

Ivy’s gaze dimmed, and seeing the little girl cry made her heart ache. She wiped away Nicole’s tears, softly saying, "Your Grandma doesn’t dislike you; she just doesn’t like Mommy. Your Daddy having a child with another woman wasn’t because he prefers boys over girls; your Grandma wanted a grandson."

In Ivy’s arms, Nicole cried out loudly, "Mommy, I hate Grandma, and I’ll never call her Grandma again."

Hearing Nicole sob so sadly, Ivy’s eyes reddened as well: "Nicole, listen to Mommy. Don’t hate your Grandma because hating someone is exhausting and it only hurts yourself; it’s not worth it. You are Mommy’s treasure, and Mommy only hopes Nicole can be happy and joyful every day. One day, when your Grandma sees how well we’re living and how happy Nicole is, she’ll be the one to get angry." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

"Nicole, do you understand?"

The sound of Nicole’s crying lessened, and she choked, "Nicole understands, Nicole will listen to Mommy. We’ll live happily and make her angry."

Ivy nodded with relief, "Good."

A moment later,

Nicole took out a box of medicine from her pocket, "Mommy, here you go."

Receiving the medication and looking at the label, Ivy asked, "Where did this medicine come from?"

Nicole stumbled over her words, unable to explain. Afraid that Ivy wouldn’t take it, she pleaded, "Mommy, taking this medicine is good for the baby in your belly, please take it!"

"If you don’t tell Mommy where it came from and it’s poisonous, what then?"

Nicole’s face turned pale with fright, remembering Chantel’s arrogant and pleased expression. Nicole shook her head, thinking if it were poison, Chantel wouldn’t have brought it to eat herself.

Nicole dared not say that Chantel had dropped it, fearing that Ivy would find out Chantel was pregnant, and worried that her mother would know how Uncle Yeats treated her.

Now she only wanted to protect her little sister and take Mommy away from here.

"Mommy, this isn’t poison, Nicole promises."

Ivy put the medicine away, shaking her head firmly, "If Nicole doesn’t tell, Mommy won’t take it."

Nicole panicked, tugging Ivy’s arm, "Mommy, please take it! If you don’t believe me, Nicole will take it to show you."

Nicole’s small hand reached into Ivy’s pocket, but Ivy caught it, sternly saying, "Nonsense, can children take this kind of medicine?"

Nicole was too scared to speak, her eyes brimming with tears as she looked at Ivy.

Ivy softened again, regretting speaking harshly to Nicole earlier.

She said, "Mommy believes Nicole. Mommy will take the medicine Nicole gave."

Nicole’s tears fell as she happily asked, "Really?"

Ivy nodded, "Really. Now can Nicole sleep peacefully?"

After a night’s sleep,

Chantel came to Nicole when she went alone to feed the cats, "I lost my prenatal pills last night, did you pick them up?"

Nicole adamantly denied, "No."

With a sinister smile, Chantel said, "Who else could have picked them up? The medicine must be with Ivy. I’ll go ask her for it now."

Nicole suddenly grabbed Chantel.

"You feel guilty, the prenatal pills are indeed with Ivy."

"Yes, I picked them up. It’s no use going; my Mommy has already taken them."

Chantel’s eyes sparkled with joy. This silly child was indeed useful, getting Ivy to take the medicine so quickly, haha... Perfect.

Unable to hold back, Chantel laughed out loud.

Nicole felt something was wrong and asked, "Why are you laughing?"

Chantel immediately stifled her laughter, "I’m angry. Yeats doesn’t want your Mommy, and you shamelessly stole my pills to protect that child? Even with the pills, you can’t beat me; I’m pregnant with Young Yeats’s son."

At that moment, the nanny ran over.

"It’s not good, Ivy is bleeding heavily."

The nanny’s face was pale, her voice trembling. That was Young Yeats’s child!

Chantel’s heart pounded violently. It was happening, the storm had finally come, Ivy’s child was in trouble.

"Mommy..."

Nicole cried as she ran to Ivy, seeing the bloodstains on her light-colored pants, she was dumbfounded, "How did this happen? How did this happen? Mommy, Nicole doesn’t want anything to happen to you."

"Call 120, call 120..."

The nannies panicked. Someone shouted the suggestion, and all the nannies took out their phones, dialing 120.

Seeing Ivy’s bleeding, Chantel was the most delighted. Ivy got what she deserved. With no child, how could she stay by Young Yeats’s side?

The ambulance arrived and took Ivy to the hospital.

Howard Yeats received a call from the nanny, dropping his phone to the ground with a "snap," his face turning pale as he rushed out of the office.

Driving, Howard sped onto the road, his hands shaking and the nanny’s words echoed in his mind, "Ivy is bleeding heavily, it looks like a miscarriage."

When did Ivy get pregnant? Why didn’t he know? Whose child is it?

Howard suddenly thought of Jade Yeats being with Ivy; it was Jade who took... from him and Ivy. Jade called Ivy "sister-in-law."

Could the child in Ivy’s belly be his?

Thinking of this possibility, Howard felt he was going crazy.
