Chapter 519: City of Miracles

The rest of the journey inside the airship appeared pretty boring to Charles.

So, he closed his eyes and soon fell into a deep sleep.

He didn't know how long he had slept, but suddenly an alarm-like ring appeared in his head, causing him to wake up abruptly.

At that moment, a familiar synthetic voice echoed in his ears.

[Alert! Alert! Alert! Wisdom Link's connection is weakening!]

'Hmm? Wisdom Link?' Charles frowned at Genesis's words and soon asked.

'Why is that?'

[We entered the territory of City of Miracles just now, Host. I highly suspect it might be due to some powerful spell or array placed inside the city blocking the Wisdom Link.]

'What's the big deal about it?' Charles wasn't bothered much about it.

Although the Wisdom Link could help him get some inaccessible information, it wasn't necessary for him in this mission.

But the following words from Genesis made his face stiffen up.

[If that barrier has the power to severe the Wisdom Link, then it might also have the power to affect Future, Fate, Destiny, Luck, and all other powers. You might not be able to use any of your Time-related skills once you enter the city.]

'My vision skills won't work inside?' His face changed abruptly.

After all, he relied on this 'Vision' skill countless times and even won in many battles.

[Your [Prevision] skill will always be active, Host. That's because your understanding of 'Future Time' is much higher than any normal Seers. So, you could directly peek into one or two seconds into the future with no difficulty.]

'What about the 'Vision,' 'Forewarning,' and 'Multi-vision' skills?'

[Unlike the [Fire Mage] Class, your Trickster Class works based on the High-Human bloodline's percentage in your body and has many problems. If you want to understand the situation clearly, you need to know the difference between Ancient Mage Pathways and Warlock Pathways, Host. Ancient Mages always used their brain to understand or comprehend different elements and create unique spell models for battles purposes. But on the other hand, Warlocks gets the basic information about the corresponding skills by consuming the blood essences of a particular Bloodline and doesn't know how their bloodline spell works.]

'I thought so too.'

Charles nodded his head at Genesis's response and asked.

'Is there any other way?'

[There is no other way to bypass the barrier, Host. You can only rely on yourself from now on.]

At that moment, Charles suddenly thought of the 'Wisdom Link' and soon sent out an order.

'Genesis, create a new mission and see if you get some important information from the 'Wisdom Link' for achieving my goal.'

[Searching!]

[Insufficient information!]

[Connecting to the 'Wisdom Link']

[Connection Successful!]

At that moment, a blue screen appeared in front of his face.

...

[Mission Triggered!]

[Mission Title: Host's Last Hope]

[Goal: Steal the 'Draught of the Phoenix' potion from the Miracle's museum hall and escape the City of Miracle under the watchful eyes of three Demi-Gods!]

[Description: You are planning to steal the 'Draught of the Phoenix' on 14th May, 8.00 A.M. But Chaos is already brewing inside and waiting to consume the whole city. Beware of the [Historian] Ma-... Unknown Barrier Detected! Error! Error! Error!...]

[Mission Difficulty: Changed from High to Extremely Dangerous]

[Rewards: Draught of the Phoenix]

[Time Limit: 14th May, 9 A.M.]

...

'Mission Difficulty rose to extremely dangerous? Moreover, three Demi-Gods are residing in that city, huh.' His face turned gloomy all of a sudden.

'I have very too little information. Do I have no choice but to give up now?' He still had time to back down after all.

Suddenly, he touched his space ring while thinking of something and took out the mysterious Star Constellation book.

Following that, he also took out the golden quill and ink bottle from his space ring, opened the book, and started writing his personal information on the mysterious blank page.

Then, he recited a mysterious chant, and at the same time, he activated his [Foresight] skill.

A second later, his vision turned blurry all of a sudden, and he found himself standing in a dark void.

The next instant, an illusionary figure that looked similar to Charles appeared in front of him and opened its mouth.

"Future Spell!" A familiar voice appeared from the figure's mouth and soon disappeared from there.

The next instant, Charles saw that the whole surroundings started to break like glasses, and soon he found himself returning to the passengers' compartment.

'What was that? Future spell? Is he talking about that ability?' Charles rubbed his chin and soon ordered.

'Genesis, activate the mysterious 'Future-Time' ability now.'

[Are you sure about that order, Host? Casting an unknown 'Time' related spell might lead to severe consequences!] Genesis warned him.

But Charles had already made up his mind.

In truth, he had no choice but to take his gamble on his future self's advice.

'Activate that ability!' Charles said in a cold tone.

['?????' is activated!]

The next instant, he felt that a strange invisible force enveloped his consciousness all of a sudden and then disappeared.

Then, nothing happened after that!

[No abnormality detected in the Host's body or the surroundings.] Genesis's voice echoed in his head.

He furrowed his brows and checked if anything abnormal happened to his soul or consciousness but found nothing!

"Why there is no effect on me?" Just as he muttered to himself in confusion, the airship suddenly shook violently and caused everyone in the compartment to move to and forth.

Just as Charles thought of casting the [Flame Teleportation] spell, he noticed that the airship was entering an invisible layer!

'Something is wrong.'

He instantly removed the monocle from his left eye and soon noticed that the strange invisible layer blocked the connection between the Physical World and the Dream World!

He also closed his eyes to enter the Astral Realm simultaneously but couldn't!

'The barrier? As long as anyone enters the City of Miracle's range, it would be much harder to escape, huh.' He was impressed even before arriving at the City of Miracles.

'Let's see if I can succeed in this mission.' He thought to himself and looked at the side window.

At that moment, he saw a shadow of a gigantic cloud up in the sky and soon squinted his eyes.

'No... It's not a shadow. It's a City!'

Indeed!

The City of Miracles was a Floating City!

As the airship moved closer towards the gigantic shadow, he finally managed to take a closer look at the city from afar and was stunned inside.

The city was more than 100 miles long and had countless towering buildings!

At the center of the city, Charles also saw three unique towers that almost touched the above clouds, and they appeared to be protecting the city from any outside forces.

While Charles and other passengers looked at the city in amazement, the airship appeared above the city and soon descended towards particular vacant land.

It was an airport!

Within a few minutes, the large airship landed next to a half-egg-shaped building and started to slow down.

At that moment, Charles and other passengers stood up from their seats and waited for the staff to open the door.
