FLASH MARRIAGE; CHARMED BY THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE CEO-Chapter 337: A Heartless Husband 1
Doctor Vanessa tilted her head sideways to look at Maria, who gave her an approving nod.
"Go ahead, tell them." Maria let out another depressing sigh.
"She's stable for now." Doctor Vanessa replied to Judith's questions while gesturing for everyone to sit down. She also took her seat opposite the troubled-looking family before explaining further.
"But I'm afraid things are not looking so good for her and her baby. She's been exposed to a lot of emotional and psychological stress, which is very detrimental to her pregnancy. If drastic measures aren't taken now, we may be looking at a miscarriage within a couple of weeks or even days based on my assessment."
"Ah!" A sharp gasp escaped Judith's cupped mouth.
"We can't let that happen, doctor." Senator Gregory half-screamed, jumping up to his feet.
"Senator, please calm down and take your seat." Doctor Vanessa said softly. "There is no cause for alarm yet because I used the word 'if'."
"Okay." Senator Gregory released a forced breath, wiping the beads of sweat that had gathered on his forehead before taking his seat. "So, how can a miscarriage be avoided?"
"Very simple, Senator. It has come to my knowledge that whatever is affecting my patient's state of mind stems from her current environment and the people around her. I was just talking to Mrs Anderson, and we have both come to the conclusion that Amelia needs an urgent change of environment."
"That is a very brilliant idea," Hilary spoke up, nodding his head.
"I completely agree." Henry concurred.
"How soon can this be made possible?" Senator asked, also supportive of this idea.
"I have already made some contacts and will be flying her out of this country tomorrow. Her location and contact will not be made known to any of you here except her husband and mother-in-law, who will be flying with her."
"This is fine by me." Senator Gregory interjected, unable to bear the thought of losing his grandchild or his only daughter. "Just make sure you do everything within your power to ensure nothing happens to my daughter or my grandson."
"We will do our best, Senator." Dr Vanessa smiled.
"Can I at least go and see her?" Senator Gregory turned his gaze pleadingly to Maria.
"Sure. But she's currently sedated. You won't be able to talk to her for the next six hours." Maria pointed out.
"I don't mind. I just want to see her and hold her hands." Senator Gregory fought back his tears of heartache, which were threatening to fall.
"No problem. Come with me." Maria instructed Henry to contact Blaze while he took the senator into Amelia's bedroom.

Matt woke up to a head-splitting migraine travelling from the back of his head to his temple and spreading across his forehead.
It felt as though someone had placed a heavy object on his forehead and a boulder on his chest, making it difficult for him to stir or even lift a muscle.
Underneath him felt very soft as if he was lying on the bed, and the sweet blend of jasmine and mint filled the air, reminding him of his wife's favourite perfume.
"Where am I?" Matt echoed in his thoughts, still trying to flutter his eyes open.
The last thing he remembered was Greg punching him several times on the face and those clowns injecting something on the side of his neck before he was thrown into the back seat of the car.
"Could it be... No."
Another wave of sharp pain shot up Matt's head, causing him to groan deeply
"Agh!"
He raised his right hand to his head while gritting his teeth. He could feel a mass of soft, slightly rough cotton fabric wrapped around his head. He also felt as if something was holding his hurting nose in place, making breathing a little bit hoarse. His lips felt sore and swollen, and his throat felt parched.
"Bastards!"
Matt cursed under his breath, clenching his fist. He tried to open his eyelid as he massaged his throbbing head when he heard the gentle voice of his wife.
"Here, s... sit up and d...drink this. It will make you f...feel better." Lilian stuttered. She sucked in her breath as she perched cautiously at the edge of her husband's bed holding two capsules of aspirin on her open right palm and a glass of water on the left hand.
As Matt slowly turned his head to look at her, his gaze now sharp, cold and frightening, Lilian resisted the urge to pick up the table knife she had hidden close to her heels, under the bed and plunge it into his chest.
"What are you doing here?"
Matt demanded drily, will taking in her captivating beauty and the familiar setting of his Forte bungalow master bedroom.
Lillian fought back her tears while holding her husband's evil gaze.
"Making sure you do not die until you reveal the whereabouts of my parents."
A creepy smile curled up the side of Matt's lips as he pushed himself up into a sitting position, resting his head on the bed headrest. His gaze softened, and his tensed muscles slowly relaxed.
"So that is why you came?"
"Isn't that what you want? To keep me here against my wish?" Lilian spat out.
"Maybe," Matt smirked, feeling a bit amused by his wife's cute, angry face. He was tempted to pull her close and kiss her, but the pain on his face wouldn't allow him to handle her feistiness for now.
"So...should I be worried about getting poisoned by my beautiful wife?" Matt asked, collecting the two pills of aspirin from her hand and throwing them into his mouth while maintaining eye contact with her.
"I'm not that type of woman who would poison her husband using pills. I prefer being physical."
"Interesting...." Matt collected the glass of water from her hand while stroking her wrist in the process, causing her to flinch, almost falling off the bed. But his reflexes were quick to hold her in place.
"Get your hands off me." Lilian wriggled her hand free from his hold. She abruptly stood up and took a few steps away from the bed.
"You used to beg for my touch back then." Matt emptied the glass of water in a single gulp while Lillian watched with disgust.
"Well, not anymore. All I need right now is for you to release my parents. They haven't done anything wrong to..."
"Of course they have." Matt cut her off angrily. "They kept my wife and my children away from me, and for that, they will pay dearly unless..." His eyes lustfully trailed the length of Lilian's body before meeting had disgusted gaze. "...You are ready to fulfil all your duty as my legally married wife, including pleasing me in bed. It's been six months since I touched a woman, and you will be my first tonight."
"You can't do this to me, Matt. Let's just face it. We do not love each other anymore. We can't stand each other." Burning tears slowly flowed down Lilian's flushed cheeks. " Just let go of my parents, and let's have a proper divorce. I don't want your money or anything. I just want my life back and my children."
"Hahahahaha...." A fit of maniacal laughter jolted through Matt's throat, engulfing the room and almost drowning Lilian in its suffocating embrace.
"It's for better or for worse, baby. It's till death do us part. Do you remember those words when you said I do to me?"
"And do you remember the promises you have broken?" Lilian raised her voice at him, anger surging through her veins and emboldening her to challenge him.
"Do you think I'm not aware that you have been cheating on me with different women all these years? I even caught you on camera kissing Regina here in our home after you two were done talking vile things about me. You slept with her on our matrimonial bed not once, not twice, not thrice."
Matt's jaw dropped. "You've been spying on me all this while."
Lilian laughed bitterly amid tears, shaking her head.
"You think you are the only one good at spying on people. Well, news flash, your brainless elephant of a wife isn't completely blind. I knew the abominable thing you were doing with Regina. But I never exposed you or that whore for your treachery and betrayal even though I wanted to on several occasions. I didn't want to destroy your brother's happy home after watching him suffer immense heartbreak for the loss of Fiona."
Matt's gaze darkened at the mention of Fiona's name. His hands slowly balled into fists, and his aura turned dangerous.
"Shut up." He growled softly, slowly climbing down from the bed while Lillian took retreating steps backwards, in readiness to bolt out of the room.
"The truth hurts, Matt." Lillian continues talking, unafraid of her husband's wrath. "You don't get to defile both your brother's wives and go scot-free. You deserve to suffer for the rest of your life.
But get this into your wicked heart, my children and I will never suffer with you."
"Shut up!" Matt roared,
picking up the empty glass of water by the bedside table and smashing it on the floor with a sickening shattering sound.
Lilian bolted for the door before he could stand up and ran out of the house to her neighbour's, where she left her kids.
Three hours later, when she returned to check on Matt, she discovered that he had left the house, leaving behind a threatening note demanding that she return to the house with his children if she didn't want the blood of her neighbours or parents on her hands.
