Flash Marriage: In His Eyes-Chapter 321: Hide and Seek
–Alyssa–
I was mad at him all day.
Even after we confirmed with Dr. Greene that there’s a possibility Lore isn’t the father.
Teressa knew it herself. She didn’t even know who the father was. But then Lore pulled out records—of course he did. He hacked Paul’s phone, and there it was.
Proof of how wild she had been.
A short clip. Scandalous enough.
Paul and his frat boys.
I rolled my eyes at the memory, though a small part of me still felt sorry for the girl.
"Babe, come on," Lore sighed, still following behind me.
We skipped classes today. Nothing important was happening anyway.
We drove back to our apartment. Lore was swiping through his phone, probably checking something work-related. I changed clothes and started packing—my skincare, a few clothes, my projects—everything went neatly into my suitcase.
Lore, meanwhile, carefully packed his PC setup. The device was usually secured under the table where he kept his systems hidden. He handled it like fragile treasure before placing it inside his own suitcase.
Tomorrow I don’t have classes.
Lore?
That guy could graduate even if he never attended a single lecture.
"I hate you," I muttered.
"Oh, come on. The more you hate, the more you love," Lore said lazily as he unplugged a few devices from his room. The small robot camera stayed on. Then he locked his door.
He carried my little suitcase downstairs—the one with my school projects and random things I refused to leave behind.
Ms. Christina was deep-cleaning the living room.
"We’ll be going," Lore announced casually.
She only hummed in response.
Lore grabbed the keys to my Jimny and placed our bags in the backseat. I hopped into the driver’s seat while he settled into the passenger side.
I honked at the security gate as we pulled out of the parking lot.
Lore opened his laptop almost immediately.
He was checking the live camera feeds—my bedroom, his bedroom, and the hallway camera on the second floor.
"There it goes," he muttered.
Besides the visible camera, Lore had hidden ones too. The main camera had a convenient glitch, something he clearly expected.
Ms. Christina was going to enter his room.
He was waiting for it.
The drive to the Braxton Mansion only took an hour.
When we arrived, the place was already alive with people.
The Blackwell family.
The Carrington family.
And a crowd of guests.
I immediately spotted Aunt Ines in her chubby disguise. Mom was chatting with her warmly, even holding her hand.
Then I noticed Uncle Gregory.
He was watching them.
Closely.
I think he already suspected the maid’s real identity.
"Uncle," I called as I pulled Lore forward. "This is my boyfriend... and now my fiancé."
Uncle Gregory shook Lore’s hand firmly.
"Nice to meet you, Lore."
"Pleasure to meet you, sir," Lore replied smoothly.
They began chatting about something complicated—probably business or strategy. Lore was annoyingly good at conversations like that.
I slipped away and approached the birthday girl.
Laura.
She was talking with her grandparents from her father’s side.
The moment she saw me, she hugged me tightly.
My eyes wandered toward the children.
The twins were near Livana—disguised as Sky’s stepmother.
But Sky clung to her like glue, snuggling against her chest while pushing Damon’s face away.
The support dog, Choco, rested calmly beside Livana’s foot.
Honestly, anyone observant enough would realize it was her.
Livana stood up soon after Damon gestured upstairs. Choco followed her immediately, and the twins ran after them, clutching their toys.
More visitors arrived not long after.
Extended relatives.
Laura’s friends.
Even directors from the company.
Lore returned to my side, carrying our bags.
He leaned close and whispered in my ear.
"Want to shower together?"
I frowned at him.
"I won’t forgive you until you prove that it’s not yours," I hissed.
Then I spotted Lore’s brother.
They didn’t act like brothers here. Their relationship was still a secret.
"Kuya!" I called.
Louie turned immediately and waved. He hugged me and kissed my head like I was still a little kid.
I had always been treated like his baby sister.
But what I didn’t expect...
Was seeing Casey.
The half-sister of Laura and Livana.
She was greeting everyone as if she hadn’t nearly destroyed the family.
Still... ironically, thanks to her, Livana managed to get rid of her ex-fiancé Richard.
"Babe, come on." Lore grabbed my arm and pulled me away from Louie.
I caught him glaring at his brother.
I frowned.
Why was he glaring at Louie for hugging me?
Louie released me easily as Lore dragged me upstairs toward one of the vacant rooms near Livana’s old room.
I could hear the kids laughing somewhere nearby.
Lore dropped our bags in the corner.
Then he pulled me close and kissed my lips.
I pushed his face away immediately.
"If you’re the father, you’re dead," I hissed.
"I’m sure it’s not mine," he chuckled, wrapping his arms around me.
I stepped onto his foot and rose onto my tiptoes, pulling him by the nape to kiss him.
The door burst open.
My brother David stood there, glaring at us.
"If you’re going to make out, at least lock the door."
Behind him I could hear the kids screaming with laughter as they ran down the hallway.
David glared directly at me.
"Stop seducing him, will you?"
I frowned and shoved Lore away while he laughed.
Honestly...
They know me too well.
If anyone starts something first—
It’s usually me.
–Damon–
I watched as my wife showed me where she displayed all the gifts from her mother—gifts that had actually come from me.
I grinned while she examined a few pearls and a headband adorned with real gemstones.
"I love your hair," I whispered.
Carefully, I removed the wig from her head. Then I placed the jeweled headband onto her hair.
"Beautiful."
Her silver, silky hair was truly breathtaking. I had fallen for her the very first time I saw her. We had probably met once or twice when we were children. She had been the same even back in high school.
Snobbish. Sharp-eyed. Nonchalant.
I lifted her chin to kiss her—
Then I heard the door open.
I stepped out quickly and closed the closet door behind me. Tilting my head, I looked at Sky.
"Sky, what is it now?"
"Down~down, Dada. Foodie."
I chuckled and nodded.
I glanced back at Livana.
"Darling, Sky and I will help Laura with the guests."
"Hmm." She nodded and removed the headband.
"I’ll lock the door."
She smiled and nodded again.
I carried my son downstairs while the twins tagged along with David, who still had his cast on—now decorated with colorful drawings from the kids.
I placed Sky on my shoulders. He held onto my hair while giggling, my hand steady on his thigh.
When we reached the grand room downstairs, everyone’s eyes turned toward us.
The twins immediately stole the spotlight—and Sky too, waving at everyone while giggling.
We greeted the guests before heading straight to our table for the meal.
I placed Sky in his high chair as Chef Wally arrived with trays of individual meals for the kids.
"Hello, Sky! Twins," Carrie greeted with a smile.
"Hello," the trio replied in perfect unison.
"That’s your aunt," I said casually.
"I’m your Aunt Carrie," she added.
"Ok," little Zendaya replied flatly, her voice completely nonchalant.
I pressed my lips together while Damien—who had been chatting nearby—burst into laughter after hearing her. Clearly proud of his daughter.
Honestly, there’s nothing wrong with being a little antagonist.
"Well, I didn’t bring any gifts today," Carrie continued, smiling politely. "But I have them in my room."
Sky tilted his head.
Then he picked up a soft cookie from his tray and extended it toward her.
Carrie looked at me, then at Sky. She accepted it anyway.
"Thank you, baby."
Probably enough to keep her quiet.
"Foodie," Sky said proudly before continuing to eat.
"Hmm," Carrie tilted her head. "He has quite an appetite."
"Indeed," I nodded.
She turned back to me.
"So... who’s the girl you brought?"
"My second wife," I answered calmly. "Sky’s stepmother."
"They seem close," she observed. "But that’s understandable since Sky’s mother died early."
"Uh-huh," I simply agreed.
But I already knew what they were suspecting.
That it was Livana.
But honestly, who cared? Livana had played her cards perfectly.
I suspected Lore had tipped Tyrona about Livana’s existence. One way to keep her under control.
My gaze shifted toward my father-in-law, who had quietly left the room.
I already knew where he was going.
Upstairs.
To his daughter’s bedroom.
To confirm whether Livana was really there.
I let him go.
Livana had probably anticipated Gregory’s suspicions long before this moment.
"Excuse me," Carrie said suddenly before leaving.
I moved my seat closer to the kids and handed them tissues.
Zendaya—our sassy little girl—gracefully wiped her lips before pointing at her water bottle.
"Water, please."
I waved at the maid.
That maid, of course, was my mother-in-law in disguise.
She approached with a bottle of distilled water and carefully poured it into Zendaya’s bottle.
"Taykyuuu." Zendaya blew her a flying kiss.
My mother-in-law smiled warmly at her.
"You are most welcome, Princess."
Laura approached us and sat down, gently rubbing her tummy.
"You really need to stop walking around, my dear," Mom told her softly. "Why don’t you retire to your bedroom? Damien can handle the rest."
"It’s alright," Laura replied with a small smile as she looked at the trio.
But with twins on the way—and still in her first trimester—she really needed to take better care of herself.
