Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 64: Different Paths Lead to Different Plans
Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Different Paths Lead to Different Plans
Nia Mitchell looked up at Julia Adams, genuinely confused about the constant mockery and sarcasm directed toward her.
"Julia Adams, are you really that concerned about me?"
Julia Adams faltered, then gave a cold laugh, unconcerned.
"I’m curious to see if you’ll find someone even more incredible than Hendry Hampton to cling to. Oh, right, I remember you quit your job for him. Now you’ve lost both love and career, haven’t you?"
Julia innocently reminded her of this, and Nia just chuckled.
"Thank you for the concern, but I’ve already got a new job. And as for love, I’ve found that too." fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
Nia admitted she was intentionally irritating Julia, but as she said those words, Maxwell Peary’s indulgent smile flashed in her mind.
She didn’t bring up Maxwell Peary because he wasn’t a tool she used for boasting.
Thinking of Maxwell Peary, she suddenly wanted to see him. She had promised to stay put and wait for him but hadn’t told him she was going to the restroom.
"My movie is about to start, Mellisa Moreland. I’ll be leaving first."
Nia Mitchell greeted Mellisa Moreland, who swiftly waved her hand without responding, continuing to stare at Ralph Perez as they discussed the topic of men and women.
From afar, Nia saw Maxwell standing there with a large bucket of popcorn, looking around for her, an anxious expression on his face.
After checking his watch, he pulled out the phone from his pocket and started dialing.
Nia Mitchell saw this and, for a moment, it was as if she heard her phone ring and felt it vibrate, even though she had set it to silent before entering the cinema.
And this was something Maxwell knew.
"Uncle Peary!"
Nia ran toward him and threw herself into Maxwell Peary’s arms.
Maxwell’s heart, which had skipped a beat, seemed to return to its place. Feeling the grip of her small hands on his waist, he patted her head, relieved.
"What’s the matter?"
It was strange for Little Rabina Mitchell to suddenly rush over for a big hug. Something must have happened.
"Nothing."
Nia buried her face in his chest, her voice muffled.
"Where were you? I came over and couldn’t find you. It startled me."
Maxwell lifted her small face, gazing into her eyes, trying to discern what had happened.
Nia flashed a big smile at him.
"I just went to the restroom."
Maxwell sighed. He was truly helpless when it came to her.
"From now on, you are not to leave my sight, understand?"
"Understood."
"The movie is about to start. Shall we go in?"
"Okay."
After the movie, which lasted more than two hours, Maxwell led Nia Mitchell by her small hand toward the cinema exit.
"I need to return a call."
Once Maxwell Peary turned his phone on, he saw a barrage of missed calls.
After speaking with Nia Mitchell, he walked over to a quieter spot to make the call.
Alan Morgan, on the other end, answered Maxwell Peary’s return call immediately. Before Maxwell could speak, Alan blurted out.
"Boss, I just received news. Lewis and Annie Davidson were attacked in Canada, and we’ve lost contact with them."
Maxwell Peary was silent for a moment, then turned to glance at Nia Mitchell, who was staring at him with wide, curious eyes.
"I understand."
After hanging up, he walked over to Nia Mitchell.
"I have some business to take care of at the Company. I’ll drop you at Evelyn Peary’s place for a while. Once I’m done with my work, I’ll come pick you up and take you home. Is that okay?"
Nia Mitchell nodded obediently. "Mm, I’ll wait for you."
