Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 775 - 774: She misses him, but can’t find him
Molly Harguez shook her head. She walked to Mr. Mitchell’s side and observed him for a long time. Only after confirming that everything was normal with him did she go to Aldy. "You should rest."
Nia Mitchell lowered her head and pulled out her cell phone. It was 3 a.m. There were no missed calls and no unread messages. Uncle Peary... Nia sighed and did nothing, just lay on the large sofa.
「The next day—」
At the break of dawn, Mr. Mitchell moaned and woke up.
"Does the wound hurt a lot?" Molly Harguez was the first to hear Mr. Mitchell’s voice and immediately went to him.
Hearing the sound, Nia and Aldy woke up too. Aldy could only turn his head to look in their direction, while Nia put on her shoes and walked over.
"Dad."
When Mr. Mitchell saw Nia, he was instantly relieved. Seeing that she was safe made him feel even more at ease. "You’re not hurt, are you?" That was the first thing Mr. Mitchell said when he woke up.
Nia’s eyes instantly welled with tears, which fell drop by drop as she shook her head. She had been well-protected by her father, suffering only a minor injury—a very thin cut on her neck from when she initially struggled. Remembering the earlier scene, she felt extremely scared.
"Don’t cry." He sighed, wanting to comfort his daughter, but he couldn’t find the words.
"Didn’t you hear your dad? He told you not to cry!" Molly Harguez’s voice came over, still shrill. It was as if the gentle woman from the previous night was not her. Today, she was no different from before, still mocking Nia with cold sarcasm. "Do you want to make your dad worry about you again? You’re perfectly fine."
Molly Harguez spoke as she sat beside Mr. Mitchell, holding his hand. "Look at you. Instead of caring about yourself, you’re worrying about others. You’re lying in bed with a hole in you, and you don’t even know how to feel sorry for yourself." As Molly Harguez spoke, her voice trembled, on the verge of tears. "In just a day or two, the two people she cared most about were both in the Hospital, enduring pain. Have you thought about what would happen if something happened to you? What would I do? What would Aldy do?"
When she saw Mr. Mitchell wake up, Molly Harguez finally broke down, all her emotions bursting forth. She lowered her head onto the bed, whimpering as tears soaked her clothes.
Nia stood there awkwardly, then turned and went to Aldy’s side. She sat there, her eyes unfocused, her mind wandering.
Seeing her like this, Aldy felt a bit worried. "Sis, don’t overthink it. Mom didn’t mean to criticize you; she was just... too worried."
Although Molly Harguez seemed very greedy and was widely disliked, her feelings for Mr. Mitchell were genuine. It was hard to truly hate someone like her, even if you wanted to.
Nia nodded. She understood Molly Harguez’s concern. Thinking of this, she said nothing and walked straight out of the hospital ward.
She pulled out her phone and dialed Maxwell Peary’s number. Just as Maxwell Peary had said before, he might not be able to pick up. Hearing the tone indicating the phone was off, Nia leaned dejectedly against the wall and slowly sank down. She missed Uncle Peary so much. She longed for someone to lean on, craved to have a good cry and let out all her pain.
Tears instantly slid down her face. She scrolled through the contacts in her phone, hesitated, and finally tapped on the name "Charles Northwood."
