Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk-Chapter 919: An Utterly Ridiculous Idea
Of course, all of this was merely Jasper Sinclair’s idea, and an extremely absurd one at that.
He didn’t understand medicine, nor did he truly understand toxin-making, to the extent that he didn’t know if this idea was feasible or could be implemented.
Even if the answer was yes, there remained the most difficult step – would Nora Northwood allow him to do so?
The next day.
Jasper Sinclair didn’t go to the company, nor did he go to the research institute.
Nora Northwood heard Uncle Kevin say, "Mr. Sinclair is waiting for you in the backyard."
"Didn’t go to the company today?"
"Prepared a surprise for the madam."
Immediately, Uncle Kevin saw Nora Northwood running to push open the door, as he reminded behind her, "Go slower, be careful not to slip."
Nora Northwood didn’t experience the discomforts of early pregnancy, and sometimes she even suspected whether she was really pregnant. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
After stepping outside, she saw a snowman in the backyard, which was shorter than her.
In Jasper Sinclair’s hand was an orange-yellow carrot, which he was inserting into the snowman’s head.
She never knew that Jasper Sinclair could build a snowman.
Their footsteps crunched in the snowy ground, producing a continuous creaking sound, as the heavy snow was compacted tightly.
Nora Northwood said, "Director Sinclair playing truant to build a snowman at home, aren’t you afraid of word getting out?"
"Then I’ll have to silence them."
Jasper Sinclair’s words caused Nora Northwood to burst into laughter.
She took the red scarf off her neck and wrapped it around the snowman, nodding to herself once she finished.
"Now it looks more real!"
"New Year’s gift, do you like it?"
Upon hearing Jasper Sinclair mention this once-a-year holiday, it finally dawned on Nora Northwood that it was a new year.
"I like it very much." She answered sincerely.
"Is there a reward?"
"No."
"What wish do you have for the new year?"
"I hope our baby can grow up healthy and strong!" Nora Northwood said without hesitation.
The next second, the atmosphere subtly changed.
They both knew that this baby might not ever see the sunshine.
Just as Nora Northwood sighed at life’s challenges, Jasper Sinclair gave her a promise: "Your wish will definitely come true."
"Really?"
Jasper Sinclair retorted, "When have I ever lied to you?"
In truth, Jasper had lied to Nora Northwood quite a few times, though they had all been kind-hearted lies, not worth fretting over.
The two of them didn’t want to dwell on the sorrowful topic, and the conversation steered back to the snowman.
"Why didn’t you make the snowman as tall as me?"
"This winter’s snow wasn’t heavy enough, so we’ll build a new snowman for you next year."
Jasper Sinclair didn’t mention that this was the first time in his life he had ever built a snowman.
When he was young, he would gather with Rhys Linden, always thinking that snowman building was a game for children.
Today’s attempt unexpectedly brought him a joy he hadn’t experienced before.
Nora Northwood stood on tiptoe, trying to reach Jasper Sinclair’s lips. She wore a pair of flat shoes, without any heightening effect, and barely reached the man’s chin.
The icy cool sensation, along with the slight prickliness of his stubble, imprinted on her lips.
"Little shorty."
She was mercilessly teased.
"You’re the shorty! I’m taller than the snowman you built!"
"You’re always right."
As they conversed, their breaths turned into wisps of white fog.
Jasper Sinclair pointed to a patch of empty ground and said, "In a few years, when our daughter is a bit older, we’ll have snowball fights here."
"You must promise not to bully me and our daughter."
