Forever Destined to the Silver Shadow-Chapter 228: Below the trap door.
Aaron’s POV:
When I was with Lilin, she would constantly take me to places that were scary yet adventurous. I thought that no one could match her vibes—but I was totally wrong.
The place where Lyra is leading me now seems scarier like hell. First, she took us to the Ash forest that was on the outskirts of our land. I seldom arrive here as it is said that dangerous entities lurk here.
I tried to keep my mind blank and quietly followed the footsteps of Lyra; she should not know that I am anxious. My boys quietly followed me without doing anything crazy. Perhaps they are scared of this forest too—just like I occurred.
The only thing that was giving me a little courage to follow Lyra was that it was now daytime—in the brightness, evil entities might not lurk here.
The pathway she led us was very stony and difficult to walk. All the trees around were bright green at the beginning. As we went deeper into the woods, the trees became devoid of any leaves or life.
Even the atmosphere above us was not very bright. This is strange! Why is the sunlight not falling on this land?
Lyra halted next to a large tree trunk that had dead branches on them. Even this tree was scary to look at. The ground here had a lot of dried-up dead leaves. So these trees were once alive, but now they are dead.
Lyra crouched next to the tree and wiped away the dead leaves from the little portion of the ground. Then she pulled open a wooden trap door that was in the ground.
This seems odd! I walked closer to the trap door and peeked into it. There was nothing to look at except darkness. I blinked twice and looked at Lyra.
"What is this thing?" I asked her out of curiosity and scaredness.
"Don’t ask me any questions until we reach down there," she said and scared me even more.
I turned to my boys, who were trembling even more than me. What if she leads us to our doom and kills us? Lyra likes killing men, after all!
Lyra submerged into the narrow trap door. It took me a while to notice that there was a ladder below it. She climbed a step down the ladder and looked up at me.
"Are you going to come down here or not?"
"Yes, I will," I answered immediately, even though my mind told me to say no to her.
Once she was out of our eyesight, I glanced at my boys and said, "I am going to go next. And you all should follow my lead after that. Do you all understand?"
"Yes, we do," my brother Anakin replied while the others were dazed.
I slowly stepped on the ladder while clutching the ground and started to climb lower. I expected to not see the edge of the ladder for at least ten minutes—but I reached the ground within seconds.
The surroundings around me were still dark, but I was pretty sure that the surface I was standing on was stony. Is this a cavern?
"Lyra..." I called out. "Are you here? I am not able to see you or anything else...."
I didn’t get a reply from her. But after a few seconds, a bright yellow light blinded my eyes. Then the whole place became visible to me. This is a cavern!
I was stunned when I laid my eyes on Lyra. She was holding a fire torch in her hand—which was illuminating the whole cavern.
Her top half of the body was normal. But she didn’t have legs anymore. Her lower half had a green-scaled tail in place of her legs. So this is her actual form!
"Ahhhhhhh..."I heard someone scream from behind me. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
I turned to my side and looked at my brother, who was now shivering. Perhaps he got scared of Lyra’s true form.
"Anakin, did you forget that you had sex with someone similar to her?"
He screamed out again. "I am not going to see her anymore—"
My innocent brother is traumatized! But I don’t think that he will stop seeing Leah out of fear. If he likes someone, he will never stop seeing her unless the girl wants to break up with him.
Lyra ignored our scared expressions, and she continued to move on the surface with her scaly tail. I wondered if her tail wouldn’t get hurt by sliding on the ground forever. Or maybe the scales of a serpent have resistance against injury.
"Yes, it has," she replied. "Now, I would appreciate it if you stop thinking nonsense—"
"Okay," I replied out of fear. Even though there are five of us boys, I think that we are very much ineffective against the Serpent girl—probably she will overpower us within seconds.
Now she was taking us deep into the cavern. We all were dead silent when we followed her. Once we all reached the stony dark door, Lyra froze. The stony dark door looked almost like a huge rock—and had a keyhole on the corner of it.
Lyra then swirled her green tail and turned to us. "This door leads to the Celestial realm. All you have to do is walk into it—"
"What?" I gasped. "Reaching to the Celestial realm is this easy?"
"Not exactly," she grinned and lowered the torchlight in her hand slightly. "Not everyone is worthy finding of the key of infinity—but you guys did it and used this opportunity for the best—"
I wasn’t able to believe what she was saying. How can this door lead us to the realm of light? And she still hadn’t given me an explanation of what the key of infinity is!
I can’t trust this venomous girl; I would be risking my boys’ lives if I followed what she said.
"Lyra, I am not sending my boys in that thing if you don’t give me an explanation about this whole thing," I said firmly. "I want to know how getting in this stony door will lead us to the realm of light—"
