Chapter 256: The Sleeping Demon Princess

Amelia’s POV:

The three of us returned back to the castle after that—as we realized that there was no use in talking with him anymore. And I still couldn’t believe that he was going to burn down an entire land for the sake of revenge.

"What am I going to do with that boy now?" the Siren Queen shouted out. "He is refusing to release Lilin. What can I do when Lilith sends her troops here?"

"Or maybe we can release Lilin by ourselves," Ivory suggested. "I have her moonstone with me, and we can do the deed by ourselves. Why exactly do we need the permission of Theo?"

Ivory has given a very bad idea to the Queen. I hope that she refuses to do this. Theo is already frantic; if she releases Lilin without his consent, then he might go even more insane.

"Fine! Let us release the Demon Princess," the Siren Queen agreed with her.

"No, my Queen," I screamed out and went to her. "It would be a mistake if we did something like that. Theo might go even more frantic—"

Both of them didn’t like my suggestion. Ivory was scowling at me in pure hatred. She despises me just like I despise her!

"Amelia, you must be a fool to be even suggesting something like this," Ivory said.

I rarely get mad at someone—as I always try to see the good in everyone. But there is no good in this evil raven-haired girl. She always tends to act like a courageous warrior girl before the Siren Queen to gain her trust. And right now, she is succeeding in that! 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

"Ivory," I gritted my teeth as my anger for her took over me. "Do you even feel a little guilty for your actions? Theo is now in this state because of you—"

"I am sorry," Ivory smiled and took a step near me. "What did you just say?

"You are the reason for Theo’s current state," I repeated again.

She let out a chuckle and irritated me even more. Then she turned to Cynthia and said," My Queen, is there any sense in her words? How can I be responsible for Theo’s insanity?!"

"Because Ivory, everything would have been fine if you had not let Celestia escape," I said.

Ivory got severe. "I stand by what I did—and it was the right thing to do. And you are not just insulting me; you are also insulting the Siren Queen with your words. It was her order after all!"

Unfortunately, I can’t confront Cynthia, as I did with Ivory. So I just fell silent and acknowledged the defeat in my argument.

Ivory somehow managed to make me look stupid before the Siren Queen. This is what she always does! She manipulates the Queen and makes others look low in front of her. Even Theo sometimes falls prey to her acts.

"Well, if you two are done fighting, then let us go to the dungeon and release the Demon Princess," Cynthia announced.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Even though I don’t like Darius, I felt sorry for him when I crossed his cell. He was literally rotting here. But Theo is punishing him this hard as he had hit him multiple times with a whip when he was in the Highlands.
I should do something to help this poor guy! No one deserves to be treated like this.
But Lilin was lying down on a comfortable mattress, and her clothes were clean too, unlike that of Darius. Lilin had her eyes shut even when the three of us gathered around her mattress.
"She is asleep," Cynthia said while she had her gaze on the sleeping Demon Princess. Then she looked at me and asked me," Do you have any idea how many times she was injected with the Unicorn’s blood?"
"I don’t know," I confessed. "But I guess three...."
"Holy Selene....," Cynthia gasped. "A demonic entity has zero resistance to the divine blood of Unicorn. Some shadow creatures have died when they get injected with this blood just twice."
I shuddered internally. So Ivory could have died? I immediately knelt beside her mattress and felt her pulse from her hand. It was still beating and good.
"She is still alive," I declared and got back to my feet.
"I never said that she had died," Cynthia crossed me. "Lilin is an Anti-Angel, so she has a greater resistance against this divine blood than the other shadow creatures."
"Still, what Theo did seems wrong," I responded. "Even though Lilin has more resistance, he could have killed her."
"Exactly," Cynthia agreed. "Now, our biggest challenge is to wake up Lilin from her slumber. How are we going to do that?"
She was right! If Lilin doesn’t wake up now, then we can never send her back to her realm.
Suddenly, the long eyelashes of Lilin fluttered open, and she woke up from her slumber. The three of us were dazed!
Lilin faced the Siren Queen and said, "I was never asleep; I was just pretending to be!"
Cynthia didn’t know how to react. She just nodded and said, "We are freeing you from here, princess."
Then she gave the glossy blue moonstone to Lilin, but she refused to get her stone back. "I don’t want to go back to my realm," she mumbled.
"What?" I shouted out in surprise. "You want to be in this dungeon?!"
Lilin scowled at me, just like Ivory did a while ago. Then I realized that there is not much difference between Ivory and Lilin. Both of them are mean, and even their hair color is similar.
The only difference between them is that Ivory has the charms of the Siren, while Lilin is hot like blazing fire.
"I am not planning to leave this place until Theodore promises me that he would not burn down my lover’s land," she said.
She is demanding such an impossible thing!
"I am sorry, Princess," I said to her. "He is in a frantic state right now, and he is not listening to us."
"Then I am too not going to leave this land," Lilin declared.
