Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 391 - 330: Anubia’s Resurrection
A future timeline.
Little Carp and her siblings were never idle, always busy managing the terrible environment of the Demon Clan.
The lives of many Beastmen returned to normal, making them look no different from the ordinary Beastmen of the Beast World Continent.
Some Beastmen were grateful to the children and would often send them local specialties as gifts. The children would happily accept them, maintaining good relationships with the Beastmen of nearby towns and frequently helping them out.
Someone, pretending to be an ordinary citizen, claimed their well at home was blocked and tricked Little Carp into going over to help.
Halfway there, Little Carp sensed something was wrong and ran.
A shadowy black mist seized her and vanished in an instant.
The previous nightmare was happening all over again.
And then... there was nothing. The Little Carp of this timeline... was dead.
An excruciating pain seized Sang Luo’s heart.
"Go back again. Let me see."
’I have to see who that black mist is!’
Quan Jin returned. After listening to their conversation and watching the events on the timeline again, he said, "...The Demon Lord, Quan Can."
"A Demon Lord? His surname is Quan, too?"
"Yes, he’s technically my uncle. My father, the Demon Lord, did not have only one child. He had many other offspring, but they were all children born after his soul body possessed others. Their bloodlines are impure and they were not given important roles, only barely granted a hollow surname." Quan Jin’s gaze shot out a chilling coldness, filled with unconcealable killing intent. "He pledged allegiance to me before the Demon Lord died. Although it was a pretense, I didn’t want to cause more trouble, so I spared his life and gave him a fiefdom. I never thought his ambition would persist, that he would dare to harm a child!"
He looked at Little Carp, then turned to Sang Luo. "Sangsang, leave this to me. If you’re worried about the children, you should take them and leave this place first."
"The Holy Palace is very safe. I’d like to take the children back to the Holy Palace to live for a while, is that okay, Luoluo?" Minos also looked at Sang Luo.
He used to think he didn’t like children, always finding them too noisy. But now he was very fond of them and had long thought about bringing all her children over to his place.
"Of course. Take the children to the Holy Palace. Little Stone and Little Zhi Xin have heard that the scenery at the Holy Palace is beautiful and have been wanting to visit." Sang Luo could naturally see the anticipation on his face.
Minos blinked. "And you?"
Sang Luo closed her eyes, then opened them again, taking a deep breath. "Whoever wants to harm my child—I will end them with my own hands. I won’t be at ease until I’ve watched them die!"
Minos nodded and gave her a longing kiss on the cheek, whispering, "After you’ve finished things here, you can come to the Holy Palace for a few months. The children and I will miss you very much."
"Okay."
Minos left with the children.
Quan Jin watched him leave, an inscrutable look in his eyes. The hands at his sides loosened slightly.
’In the end, I was gone for too long. There are other people in her heart now.’
"Quan Jin?" Sang Luo called out to him.
Quan Jin snapped back to his senses and smiled. "Shall we go now?"
"Yes! He dared to lay a hand on my child. I’ll make sure he’s torn to pieces!"
Quan Can had been in Cultivation for thousands of years but was only at the Initial Emperor Rank. Without needing Quan Jin to act, Sang Luo beheaded him, fiercely venting the anger in her heart.
Quan Jin took a walk around his mansion.
He knew Quan Can was timid and cautious, someone who would never dare to risk something like this. That was why he hadn’t paid any attention to such an ant back then, willing to let him live and serve him. Had he misjudged the man, or...
Quan Jin walked into a secret chamber.
Inside the secret chamber, he discovered various Forbidden Arrays and found a black Vajra Pestle on an altar.
He narrowed his purple eyes, studying the runes on it. They were runes for seizing one’s innate talent.
This was a Magic Artifact designed to steal natural talent and fortune.
It didn’t look like something from the Void Demon Realm.
’Who gave it to him?’
’Or, where did he get it?’
Quan Jin looked at the base of the Vajra Pestle. There was another rune, but this one held no power. It was merely a symbol, an identifying mark.
After clearing out the small fry outside, Sang Luo came looking for him.
She saw Quan Jin holding the Vajra Pestle and looking at it intently, so she leaned in for a look and also got a clear view of the mark on the bottom.
"Hiss... Three circles, and in the middle... is that an eye?"
’What a strange pattern. What does it symbolize?’
As Sang Luo stared, she found it somewhat familiar.
Remembering something, she took out the World Sand Table that Quan Jin had given her, turned it to its side, and found the exact same pattern.
"It’s the mark of the Lost City." Quan Jin put the Vajra Pestle away.
"What exactly is that place?"
"It’s a Domain that broke away from the Void Demon Realm. Initially, it belonged to the Void Demon Realm and was under the control of the Demon Lord. But after the Demon Lord fell into a deep sleep, the Lost City drifted outside the Void Demon Realm, becoming its own separate world. Now, tens of thousands of years later, that place has become a symbol of chaos, lawlessness, and sin. It’s a mixed bag of good and bad, with unclear factions... a gathering place for geniuses and criminals. There are many black markets there that specialize in selling all kinds of rare treasures."
"Sounds impressive. Who’s in charge of the Lost City now?"
"Back then, the Demon Lord gave this Domain to an old friend, making that person the City Lord of the Lost City. As for who it is now, that’s unknown."
"By the way, I found something in the mansion’s backyard. Come and see."
The two of them went to the backyard.
There was a pitch-black, lightless, deep pool. Even the moonlight could not penetrate it, and it faintly exuded an ominous aura.
It was impossible to see what was inside.
Sang Luo felt an indescribable power emanating from within it, inspiring fear, yet irresistibly drawing one closer, wanting to sink into it.
"What is this?" Sang Luo took two steps forward.
Quan Jin immediately stopped her. "Don’t get too close, and don’t touch the Water here."
He explained, "The Void Demon Realm is vast, with many unknown domains that even I am not familiar with. It’s best not to touch things randomly."
"Okay, okay." Sang Luo nodded and took a few steps back.
She kept her distance.
’She cherished her life, thank you very much!’
"This deep pool... I’ll have someone investigate it later."
Before leaving, Quan Jin glanced at the deep pool again, a dark look flashing in his eyes. A ball of Demonic Qi appeared in his palm, forming a Barrier that enveloped the pool’s water, causing it to disappear.
...
「A few days later.」
Sang Luo received some very unexpected news.
It wasn’t from her Beast Husbands or children, but from the old senior of the North Sea, Ji Hua.
In all these years, Ji Hua had never actively sought out Sang Luo. However, their world-binding oath still stood, so Sang Luo wasn’t worried that he would try to secretly slack off. She just had to wait patiently.
Now that he had sent a message, it probably meant there was a development with Anubia!
Ten years had passed. By her calculations, it was about time, even faster than she had expected!
Joy bloomed in Sang Luo’s heart. She hadn’t seen Anu in a very long time. When she finally met him, to be honest, she didn’t know how she would feel...
She opened the communication.
The next moment.
"Something terrible has happened, little friend!"
"What is it? Don’t tell me Anu... he failed?"
"Rest assured. If I had failed in the matter I promised you, would I have the face to contact you?"
Sang Luo let out a small sigh of relief, but her voice was still tense. "Then, may I ask, Senior, what exactly happened?"
"There’s good news and bad news, little friend. Which do you want to hear first?"
