Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 402 - 341: Thinking of Her
For convenience, Sang Luo disguised herself as a male from the Insect Clan, assuming the identity of a researcher at the Zone 2 base.
The Insect Clan were naturally adept at both disguise and seeing through it. Sang Luo added a layer of her Illusion Technique on top of her own disguise and successfully infiltrated the Zone 2 base.
According to the intelligence she had gathered beforehand, the Starship she had taken that day had come from Zone 2.
Zone 2 had always been dedicated to scavenging Cosmic Energy, but strangely, she found no suspicious traces at their experimental base.
There were no Energy Crystals stored in the warehouses either.
’Could they have been shipped elsewhere?’
Sang Luo staked out Zone 2 for two days before she saw a Starship arrive.
She used her spiritual power to control a newly arrived Insect Clan laborer and had him walk over to help move the cargo.
"Just like before, secretly transport all the cargo from this zone to Zone One. Remember, the route is classified. Not a single detail can be leaked."
"I heard the last shipment was of poor quality. The higher-ups got a real earful from the other side."
"Heh heh, don’t worry. This batch is top-notch. It includes three Energy Crystals from planets with life on them."
"The ’Baru God’ will definitely be pleased."
"..."
Listening to their conversation, Sang Luo was a bit confused.
’What is this Baru God?’
’The intel didn’t mention it. Are all the planetary Energy Crystals they’re plundering for this Baru God?’
It seemed the answer to the secret lay in Zone One.
Sang Luo took a ship to Zone One.
Zone One was the oldest region in the Star Vortex Insect Nest. The base occupied a vast area. Halfway through cracking the password at the entrance, a red warning appeared on her wristband, preventing any further decryption.
Someone was coming. Sang Luo turned invisible and slipped away.
The guards rushed over but found no one. Their detectors didn’t pick up any suspicious life forms, so they left.
Hiding behind a wall, Sang Luo watched the map on her wristband change. The Zone One base, originally a normal golden dot, had turned into a red exclamation point after the scan.
The virus Control Center she was looking for was in the Zone One base.
’I have to find a way to get in.’
A middle-aged male insect in a high-ranking academic’s uniform walked out of the base. All the staff they passed greeted him respectfully. He boarded a private ship and sped off.
Sang Luo followed him.
...
「Zone 3.」
It was a sure thing that the new King would be marrying a female from the Kilcher family. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Both parties were very satisfied with the match.
The new King had even dispatched men to bring the future Queen to the palace ahead of time.
Compared to the lively atmosphere outside, the bedchamber was cold and dreary.
Biya lay on the bed, his right hand resting on his forehead. One long leg was bent as he stared listlessly at the ceiling, his ocher-gray eyes devoid of emotion.
No one knew what he was thinking.
He covered his eyes with the back of his hand.
In his mind, the image of that woman was a lingering presence he couldn’t shake.
’Dammit. He’d tried everything to get rid of her, so why was it still her?’
’He wouldn’t be like before, pouring his heart out to a female who only used him and had no real feelings for him, only to lose his life for nothing.’
’That Anubia was too stupid, too foolish.’
’She’s living happily ever after with her Beast Husbands and children. In what spare moment would she ever think of his miserable death?’
’She wouldn’t. At most, she’d sigh with regret—regret for losing such a useful pawn.’
’Stupid.’
’Utterly stupid.’
Biya thought it over and could only attribute his past foolishness to the mating urges of a newly matured male. He hadn’t met many females, which was why he’d let an ordinary Beast Clan female get to him, his mind clouded by a momentary impulse.
Now, there were far more exceptional Insect Clan females with a genetic compatibility rate of over 60% with him, capable of bearing the most outstanding Insect Clan offspring. He could easily find a better partner than her.
He would never again pine for a Beast Clan female.
He would find a new female and forget her completely.
"Your Majesty, Miss Kilcher has arrived. Should you go see her now?"
Biya didn’t respond.
A tall figure walked in.
The female insect was slender and beautiful, with a head of gorgeous, curly, silver-gray hair. Her features were soft and pure, yet her long, narrow eyes were exceptionally captivating. Her clothing was sheer, and she radiated an aura of powerful Fertility that was fatally attractive to Insect Clan males.
Every unmated male insect who passed by her had a physical reaction.
She held a bottle of fine wine and sat down right next to Biya, who was feigning sleep, her smile alluring and bewitching.
"I’ve heard a lot about the new King of Zone 3. You’re even more handsome than they say, and so young. I like you very much."
One of her hands landed on his chest and was about to move lower.
Biya moved his arm, opened his eyes, and stared at her with sharp, gray eyes.
The female’s heart trembled slightly. She withdrew her hand, the smile on her lips widening. "It seems the new King doesn’t like proactive females, hmm~"
Biya sat up in bed, bending one leg and resting his arm on his knee. His voice betrayed no emotion. "I remember your name is Bronnie."
"Mm. My genetic compatibility with you is very high, Your Majesty. I’ll be able to bear you outstanding offspring very soon." Bronnie Kilcher took the opportunity to fall into his arms, hooking an arm around his neck and leaning up to kiss his lips.
’With an exceptional young male like this, it’s best to claim him as soon as possible, of course.’
A sudden, inexplicable irritation surged through Biya. He wanted to push the female off him, but though his fingers twitched, he ended up pulling her into his embrace instead.
His mating period was approaching. He needed a female.
Bronnie Kilcher was an excellent choice.
He... wanted offspring.
"You can bear them?" the man asked, gripping her chin. His voice was low and seductive.
Bronnie Kilcher swirled the wine in her glass and smiled confidently. "If you work hard, Your Majesty, perhaps I’ll be pregnant by tonight~"
"..."
Bronnie Kilcher drank a glass of wine and looked up to kiss his lips. Biya turned his head slightly. She froze for a moment, then chuckled softly, swallowed the wine, and poured another glass, holding it to his lips.
Biya looked at the obedient, fawning female in his arms, but another face surfaced in his mind.
’She had never been like this with him.’
’After his rebirth, the first time she saw him, she shot him.’
’She didn’t even know how to curry favor, beg for mercy, act cute, or even... coax him. Why on earth should he keep risking his life for her?’
’She didn’t come to the Star Vortex Insect Nest for him, but for some unknown plan.’
’There was no place for [Anubia] in her heart at all.’
’That guy was an absolute idiot, giving his life’s core to her again and again.’
’Heh.’
’And he was just as incorrigible. To think he could still be thinking of her at a time like this.’
Biya drank the glass of wine.
His aura quickly became scorching and lustful.
"Your Majesty~" Bronnie Kilcher straddled his lap, her clothes nearly all removed.
But at the last moment, Biya pushed her away.
The female fell onto the bed with a soft cry, her face filled with shock.
Biya got out of bed, dressed, and left.
His expression was indescribably dark.
After being marked by her, his body had remembered the feeling and now rejected the approach of any other female.
He couldn’t get a reaction.
When he was in heat, it was her he crazily desired... With no release for his body, the frustration was agonizing.
He would absolutely, under no circumstances, go looking for her.
And yet, as if guided by a phantom force, he found himself passing by her residence.
The door was closed.
No lights were on inside.
Anubia’s steps halted. He pushed open the door. The room was empty.
