Galaxy Domination Guide-Chapter 590 - 576 Lanxue City
You Mi'er stared at the city before him, lost in a trance.
Someone patted his shoulder, startling him out of his reverie. Looking up, it was the blonde, smiling Wali, holding a can of beverage, which he handed to him.
"Thank you." You Mi'er popped open the tab and took a couple of gulps.
Wali, holding a bottle himself, sat next to him. They both gazed at the city before them as Wali said with a smile, "What do you think, are you dazzled yet?"
You Mi'er nodded and said, "I used to hear the Commander talking about the Star Alliance, how they could build a super city for millions in just a month or two. It was fascinating, the grandeur of a high-level civilization. But today, seeing the Iridium Star Chancellor was even more wondrous. Yesterday the land was just a wilderness, and today it has transformed into a dazzling city."
Wali chuckled and said, "Si Ying was complaining that Sumer Star was too poor and backward to show itself. So the Iridium Star Chancellor gave her daughter a city. We can't even see the soles of the shoes of someone on that level."
You Mi'er looked a bit worried, "Though it's said that the Iridium Star Chancellor is an amiable person, and even more, he's the husband of Mrs. Lan Xue and Si Ying's father. He built Lanxue City and took in our Mercenary Corps' families, and even provided compensation and relief for our brothers who died before. But, our Commander wasn't released yet, and I fear our Mercenary Corps might cease to exist."
"Hey, You Mi'er, broaden your view a bit. Being a small-time desperado in the Champion Mercenary Corps in the Wilds of the Galaxy was one thing, but now is an opportunity. What stature the Iridium Star Chancellor has, it's said he came across the universe, and previously, he single-handedly formed the Star Alliance. Now he's preparing to take down the Star Alliance and reclaim the power over the Lower Orion's Arm. That is clearly a path to dominating the Galaxy. We all have a karmic connection with him. By siding with him, at the very least you secure a better position, who knows, you might end up like Lai Zhicun commanding a large fleet."

You Mi'er shook his head and said in a low voice, "Commanding fleets, dominating the stars, these are things I can't even dare to think about. I don't have that ability. I'm a nostalgic person. Even if the Champion Mercenary Corps is small and broken, it's my home. The Commander is my benefactor and my officer, and that won't change."
Looking at Wali, he asked, "Though you say that, you haven't sided with the Iridium Star Chancellor either."
Wali smiled and said, "This thing about fighting, in our Mercenary Corps, the first is naturally the Commander. Night Song is just a petty warrior, and I, well, I know a little, but I'm not that interested. Speaking of talent in leading troops and commanding fleets, you and Fleur are the best, the Commander has high hopes for you. It would be a waste not to use your skills. As for me, I'll just do other things I like."
You Mi'er nodded; although Wali was a deputy commander, he rarely involved himself in military matters, dealing more with intelligence and plots. Within the Champion Mercenary Corps, both Night Song and You Mi'er themselves were hard-luck refugees, rescued by Lanzhou. Fleur had grown up on this planet since childhood. Only Wali, with his mysterious background, had come to them seeking refuge. Always joking and smiling, he appeared less trustworthy and was known for his lascivious ways, but he still had real skills.
Wali finished his beverage, stood up, and laughed, "You need to be ready, our Commander is quite the split personality. The one who saved you and nurtured you was the initial person, a Knight to the Iridium Star Chancellor. The one leading us lately, however, is Xu Shisan, who also slapped the Iridium Star Chancellor. Which do you think is our true Commander?"
You Mi'er hesitated, then said, "Both are."
Wali shook his head and said, "That answer is a bit crafty. Lanzhou and Xu Shisan want different things. If Lanzhou comes back, he will definitely want you as a military officer under the Iridium Star Chancellor. If Xu Shisan keeps his position, well, I guess he will continue to be kept by the Chancellor."
You Mi'er said, "If the leader wants to leave, I'd stake my life to help her."
"Forget it, you have a clearer head than Night Song, you know even Xu Shisan has complex feelings towards the Iridium Star Chancellor. Now, nominally Xu Shisan is restricted, yet he still wanders around Lanxue City with no plans to leave. Night Song really isn't clever, so he's confined, but you're smart, so you've been given tasks."
Wali turned around and dropped a comment, "If you really care about the leader, you should help her discover who she truly is. Xu Lanzhou, Xu Shisan, and who knows how many other personalities, she needs to settle down eventually."
You Mi'er sighed softly and continued staring blankly at the city's silhouette.
At that moment, the top luxury suite of the tallest Champion Tower in Lanxue City had become the property of Bai Siying, alias Lan Xue. In fact, the entire building now belonged to her, which, as she put it, was a fourth birthday present from a dad she hadn't seen in eighteen years.
Bai Siying held a stemmed glass filled with sour plum drink, as her parents wouldn't let her drink alcohol. Wearing a Tang-style robe similar to that of Empress Wu Zetian, she looked out over the vast city and playfully ignited a Mary Sue vibe, sighing, "It feels like I own the universe!"
She had completely immersed herself in the beautiful dream of becoming a princess-level character; she ran away from home and even brought her father back, who turned out to be the ruler of a civilization with armies loyal to him and wealth beyond measure.
"If Dad really conquers Lower Orion's Arm, wouldn't I become one of the top second-generation officials in the Galaxy? Oh, I wonder if Dad will let me succeed him one day. With my talent and unmatched intelligence, I truly have the potential to be an empress."
She indulged in her self-satisfaction, then two people entered the room.
"Miss, the lady says it's time for you to go to school."
Dressed in an Empress' dragon robe and sipping sour plum drink, Bai Siying, destined to become the Galaxy's top second-generation official, shivered at the mention of the word "school."
"Ah, I've only been back for two days, does Mom have to be so serious?"
But the two maids went up without discussing it further and grabbed Bai Siying, who was "master of the universe." One of them said expressionlessly, "Miss, it's just an eight-hour class, and your father has arranged new subjects for you. Your mother is the smartest woman in the Wilds of the Galaxy, and your father is the Iridium Star Chancellor, you can't let them down."
Bai Siying frowned and called out, "I don't want to be some second-generation Galaxy official anymore. I've always longed to be a free-spirited space acrobat. Mom and Dad should just hurry up and have a little brother or sister, better yet, a bunch of them, so they don't focus all their attention on me—it's really not fair!"
Struggling, she was still dragged off to the classroom. What awaited her was endless studying.
