Game Invasion Era: Rise from Binding the Goblin King!-Chapter 131: Bargaining, Meeting Kent Again
"Where’s the shrine pass?" Orion looked at George, asking for the shrine pass.
The Obsidian Shrine was a hidden shrine. Only those with the shrine pass could enter. It wasn’t possible to give it to anyone else.
George hesitated and said, "Mr. Orion, I didn’t get any Crafted Relics this time. Can you return the deal you promised?"
He already knew that the Obsidian Academy had paid a big price for this shrine exploration spot - not just a lot of rare materials, but also years of research on how to explore the Abyss Shrine.
"No. That was the deal we made. If you didn’t get Crafted Relics, it’s your fault for not being strong enough." Orion refused right away.
"Orion, don’t push too hard. We got nothing this time. The deal never happened in the first place," Ares glared at him, his tone sharp.
Orion didn’t back down. "What, you want to back out? And killing Obsidian Wraiths also drops Obsidian Shards. How can you say you got nothing?"
George quickly stopped Ares from getting angry and said, "Mr. Orion, how about we both take a step back. Can you give me back the one Crafted Relic I got before?"
"That’s even more impossible. And I don’t even have control over that one," Orion said coldly, holding out his hand. "Give me the shrine scroll now."
"Orion, are you threatening me?" Ares stepped forward, his body surrounded by a few sharp glows, sword energy spreading out.
"Damn it, you think I’m afraid of you?" Orion held a War Hammer, lightning crackling, his power growing. A fight was about to start.
Mira took a step back. A battle between War God-level warriors was something they couldn’t get involved in.
"Senior masters," George quickly said, "How about this - I’ll return the shrine pass, but I’ll need to explore the shrine again later."
Orion thought for a moment, then nodded. "Okay, hand it over."
George pulled out the shrine pass and gave it to him.
"Mr. Ares, let’s go back."
George didn’t want to stay here any longer. Also, his demon mark on his forehead was hurting, and monsters had already appeared.
"Go." Ares glared at Orion one last time, grabbed George, and flew into the air. A flying sword appeared under his feet, and they moved quickly.
Holy cow, flying on a sword!
George was shocked and envious. "Senior, what kind of skill is that? Can you teach me?"
"No. It’s something I control with my mind. You won’t be able to do it unless you’re a Mental Sage," Ares said as he flew fast on the sword.
George felt a little disappointed, but at least the Golden Flame Dragon was growing. Riding the Celestial Serpent was cool too.
"Kid, did you get a Crafted Relic?" Ares knew his strength. Getting one wasn’t hard for him.
George smiled and pulled out a Crafted Relic. "Here, take it."
"Give it to me?" Ares was surprised. "You don’t need it?"
"I’ve got more. This thing probably has other uses. You can study it. I’ll give you a boss’s body later."
George had 14 Crafted Relics on him. Constantine and the others had another 36. That was more than enough.
The exact use of the Crafted Relic wasn’t mentioned. Let the Obsidian Academy study it.
Ares didn’t refuse and took it, asking curiously, "You don’t know what this thing is used for?"
"I only know it can be used to make fusion potions for attributes. Maybe it can also make weapons and armor. But I don’t know if there are any other uses," George didn’t hide anything.
After fusing his attributes, he wanted to choose a new class. The Skybinder Mage was strong, but he wanted a close-combat class instead.
"Attribute fusion?" Ares asked in surprise. "So you mix the attributes from two different classes? There’s even a potion like that?"
George nodded. He didn’t know the exact effects either.
"By the way, senior, I need some materials," he said, remembering that he was still missing some rare items to make the attribute fusion potion. He didn’t feel like searching for them himself, so he decided to ask the Obsidian Academy to help.
"No problem. The academy has most of these materials in storage. I’ll send them to you after we get back," Ares said, nodding. He increased his flying speed again and soon arrived at the Frost Alliance territory.
They didn’t stay long. They took the teleportation array directly back to the city the Sovereign City had built inside the Abyss Shrine.
"Stay out of trouble for a few days," Ares reminded him. "One week from now is the new student test. The reward for first place is pretty big. You better do well."
"New student test?" George was surprised. He didn’t know the Obsidian Academy had such a test. And the official school year wasn’t even starting for more than a month.
Ares nodded. "It’s to check the strength of new students. We don’t want people using tricks to get in."
"Oh," George said. He hadn’t expected the Obsidian Academy to be so strict. Even before officially starting, they had a test.
He had originally planned to go into the Abyss Shrine or The Chaos Battlefield, kill monsters, and gain experience to raise Constantine and the others to level 60. Then he would explore the Obsidian Shrine again.
But now, it looked like he’d have to wait until the test was over.
This time, he could first let Eliex make the attribute fusion potion and forge some artifact gear.
George returned from the shrine in the evening.
The next morning, Ares already sent over the materials needed for the attribute fusion potion.
The Obsidian Academy was really taking care of him.
George didn’t go into the Abyss Shrine. Instead, he went to the courtyard and immediately called Eliex.
This was a group of villas. There were a lot of people walking around, but they were all core members of the Obsidian Academy. He didn’t worry about being exposed.
"Eliex, the materials are all ready. How long will it take to make the attribute fusion potion?" George asked eagerly.
"Your Majesty, the fusion potion is complicated to make. It should take about three days," Eliex answered honestly.
Three days? That’s a long time.
George frowned but thought it was okay as long as it was ready before the new student test.
He said, "You can make it here. No one will disturb you."
The Abyss Shrine wasn’t safe. It was better to make it here.
"Yes," Eliex didn’t refuse. She went to the courtyard and immediately started making the potion.
George didn’t know anything about this stuff. After watching for a while, he got bored.
"Lily, do you have time? Let’s go out for a walk," he said, feeling bored. He had been in the Sovereign City for days but had only taken a quick look around.
"Okay, wait a second."
A moment later, Lily came out happily. "George, where are we going?"
"First, let’s check out the class changer guild. A new student test is coming up, and I need to get you a proper set of gear," George said.
Lily’s best gear was only a single Epic-grade staff. That was already good for common people, but for the city’s genius and rich families, it was nothing.
She needed at least a full set of Epic-grade gear.
Plus, George had a lot of materials to get rid of.
"Should we invite Liam and the others?" Lily asked. In the Sovereign City, besides George, she was closest to Liam and the others.
"No. We’re just going for a casual walk," George said. He didn’t want to trouble them.
"Okay." Lily was happy and didn’t say much anymore.
This was a rare chance to be alone with George, and she was too happy to complain.
The two left the villa and took a taxi straight to the class changer guild.
Anna had become the manager of the class changer guild in the Sovereign City. She had been too busy these days and hadn’t contacted George at all.
"Bro, just say what you want. We’ll pay for it."
Not far away, a group of people were laughing and talking as they walked toward them. A young man was in the middle.
George and Lily noticed him and were both surprised. It was someone they knew.
Kent!
This guy was specially recruited by the Temple Guild. It made sense for him to be in the Sovereign City, but no one knew which academy he had entered.
Because of him, Kent’s College Entrance Exam score was zero. Even an SSR-tier Blazing Angel class couldn’t get into the Obsidian Academy.
Plus, his Blazing Angel knight class had been taken away by Lilia. He might not even be able to enter a high-level school. Could he have gotten a second class?
"George! It’s really you!" Kent noticed George now and growled.
These days, he had been worried. His Blazing Angel knight class had disappeared for no reason. But at least he had been accepted by the Temple Guild and entered the Mirror Academy.
But the Mirror Academy had a new student test, just like the Obsidian Academy. If his class problem was discovered, he might be kicked out.
Kent had a feeling that his class disappearing was all George’s doing.
"George? You’re that College Entrance Exam champion?" The sexy, heavily made-up woman noticed George.
She thought he was a handsome young man, much better looking than Kent. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
She couldn’t help but think to herself.
Kent nodded seriously, holding back his anger, and said coldly, "He’s George. I failed my College Entrance Exam because of this guy!"
"George? You’re the College Entrance Exam champion?" The sexy woman was surprised. She looked him up and down, feeling even more attracted. He was handsome and had good talent too.
Lily felt threatened and stepped forward, grabbing George’s arm affectionately and looking at the woman with a challenge.
"Kent, I’ll get you back," a big, strong man came out and stared at George coldly. "Kid, I heard you got into the Obsidian Academy. Want to fight me?"
George looked at the man. He wasn’t weak. He was probably around level 40. Not a new student.
He said calmly, "It’s not brave to use your size to bully someone. Kent, want to fight me face to face again?"
George was trying to test if Kent had gotten a new class after losing his Blazing Angel knight class.
Kent’s heart shook. He wasn’t even a match for George before, and now he had lost his class.
