Chapter 135: Chapter 135: Class Change - Martial Saint, The New Student Exam Begins

"It’s the change in your aura," Lilia said.

"Is that so?" George was a bit doubtful. He didn’t feel like he had changed at all.

"Eat," he said, not caring much. He sat down at the table.

The breakfast was simple - a few slices of bread and a glass of milk.

Lily blushed, quietly eating her bread, not looking at George.

"Are you feeling sick, Lily?"

George noticed the quiet atmosphere and Lily’s change. He asked, concerned.

"Ah?"

Lily was caught off guard. She looked up at George, her face even redder. She quickly looked down and said, "No, nothing."

George was completely confused.

Lilia said, "Master, don’t worry. The little girl is just having a crush."

"Lilia, you’re bullying me!" Lily pouted and said.

George stayed silent. He understood the little girl’s feelings and felt a little amused.

...

After breakfast, George called Ares and explained his request.

"I’ll send someone to pick you up," Ares said, as if he was busy. He just said that and hung up.

George didn’t think much of it and waited quietly at the villa.

Not long after, a military jeep stopped in front of the villa. A man got out.

It was Liam.

"George, I heard you want to change your class?" He asked, before even entering.

George went out to meet him and asked curiously, "Did Mr. Ares send you?"

"Yes," Liam nodded. Then he noticed George’s change and looked at him in surprise. "George, why is your skin so good all of a sudden?"

"Uh... I’ve always been like this."

George rubbed his nose, feeling a little awkward. It felt strange for a guy to be praised for his skin.

Liam scratched his head and also felt the words were a little strange. He said, "I remember you already had two careers. Can you get a new one again?"

An adventurer could only have two careers at most.

"Now I only have one," George didn’t explain much. He said, "Let’s go do the class change first."

"Okay. By the way, this is what Mr. Ares asked me to give you." Liam remembered something and took out a pile of materials from his bag. Most of them were SSS-tier.

George’s eyes lit up. With so many materials, it was more than enough for Eliex to use.

"Thanks to Mr. Ares later," he said gratefully.

Liam shrugged, "No big deal. That’s part of the deal the academy already promised you."

The two of them got into the car. But they weren’t going to the Obsidian Academy. Instead, they drove toward the suburbs.

George asked, "Aren’t we going to the Obsidian Academy?"

"No. The class change array in the military area is stronger and has a higher success rate," Liam drove fast and explained.

There was a success rate limit when using a class change scroll. The stronger the array, the higher the chance of success.

George had forgotten about that.

He looked around and saw the area getting more and more remote and desolate, even with monsters appearing. It was clear they had left the Sovereign City.

"Are we going to the White Tiger Military Zone?" He asked curiously. The military zones were secret to ordinary people and couldn’t be entered.

"No. This is the Vermillion Phoenix War Zone. Their array is even stronger," Liam didn’t hide anything and explained briefly, leaving out some secrets.

The Sovereign City has four major armies: the Azure Dragon, the White Tiger, the Vermillion Phoenix, and the Black Tortoise.

These four armies were the strongest in the Sovereign City. At their peak, each war zone had at least one War God standing guard.

Now, only the Azure Dragon and the Black Tortoise war zones still had War God-level warriors.

Each of the four armies had different duties. The Azure Dragon zone was responsible for protecting the Sovereign City and taking on dangerous missions. The White Tiger legion controlled the strength of major cities. The Vermillion Phoenix and Black Tortoise armies were in charge of exploring dungeons, secret realms, collecting resources, and expanding territory within the secret realms.

George didn’t expect the four armies of the Sovereign City to be so powerful. Their strength reached all the way across the Human Federation. It wasn’t as simple as Liam had described.

The car slowed down. A barrier appeared, surrounding the entire mountain. There were signs all around: "Restricted Area," "No Entry," "High Voltage Danger."

George also noticed people hiding in the forest on both sides of the road.

But they were in a military vehicle, and no one stopped them.

Soon, the car stopped at the entrance of the military base. A soldier came up, checked the documents Liam had, confirmed their identities, and let them through.

Roar! Roar!

Monster roars echoed through the area.

George was surprised. There were a lot of monsters here, and most of them were S-tier bosses or higher.

Liam drove carefully and warned, "George, these are special bosses from various secret realms. They’re used for research."

George nodded. Thinking about the Black Stone Ruins, he asked, "Any Obsidian Wraiths?"

"Obsidian Wraith?" Liam shook his head. "Never heard of it. I can ask someone for you."

"Never mind. We’ll talk about it later," George said. He just asked out of curiosity. He figured there wouldn’t be any Obsidian Wraiths here, or else they wouldn’t need to go into the Black Stone Ruins to get the Crafted Relic.

The two of them arrived at a square. In the center was a class change array.

Four cold-looking soldiers stood guard. They already knew why the two had come and had activated the array in advance.

"Go ahead. The array only lasts for fifteen minutes. Whether you succeed or not depends on your luck," one soldier said to George in a calm voice.

"Thanks."

George said it quickly and stepped into the core of the array. He felt a strong surge of power around him.

This class change array was way stronger than the one in the Gray Family’s place in Aurion City.

Without hesitation, George crushed the Martial Saint class change scroll.

A buzz, a flash of energy. The power flowed into his body.

This was a completely different strength system - ancient, heavy, and solid.

Was this what an Ancient Martial Arts Practitioner was?

George was curious. He held his breath, focused, and tried to feel it.

The array pulsed, and after fifteen minutes, the power slowly faded. Still, no message appeared.

George sat cross-legged, closing his eyes.

"Is it over?" Liam asked, curious, and was about to walk forward, but he was pulled back by a soldier.

"Don’t disturb him. The class change isn’t done yet."

Liam frowned, looked at George, nodded, and stayed silent, waiting.

[You have unlocked a new profession: SSR-tier Martial Saint]

[Current Level: 1 Tier, Profession Attribute Panel Generated]

The message flashed. George’s body pulsed with power - ancient, strong, and solid.

It was finally successful.

George opened his eyes and let out a sigh of relief. He opened his attribute panel.

[George] 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

[Profession: Martial Saint]

[Stage: SSR tier]

[Level: 1 tier]

[HP: 100,000 points]

[Four Basic Stats: Strength 1,000 points, Stamina 1,000 points, Intellect 1,000 points, Dexterity 1,000 points]

[Skills: Diamond Scripture, Celestial Pole Scripture]

[Martial Saint: For every tier you gain, you get 300 points of free stat points. Strength and Stamina also get an extra 100 points each. This is a lost profession of Ancient Martial Arts Practitioners. It’s very hard to train. As your level increases, you can unlock new skills.]

This is an SSR tier profession?

George looked at the 1-tier Martial Saint panel and was shocked. All four basic stats were 1,000 points. For every tier, he got 300 free points. Strength and Stamina got an extra 100 each.

That meant he gained 500 points per tier.

George had a feeling that if the Martial Saint also reached level 50, it would be much stronger than the Frost Tamer after the fusion.

The only problem was the skills.

Diamond Scripture, Celestial Pole Scripture?

George was confused. These two skills had no level and no description. They didn’t look like combat skills.

Ancient Martial Arts Practitioner? Was it related to Ancient Martial Arts?

George thought about the Ancient Martial Arts profession description, but everything about Ancient Martial Arts was lost. He’d never heard of anyone inheriting a profession like that. He couldn’t confirm his guess.

"George, how are you?" Liam ran over as soon as he woke up, curious.

George nodded. "The class change worked. Let’s go back."

The military area was strict, and he didn’t want to stay.

The two left the military area and returned to the villa.

Liam stayed for a while, then said goodbye and left.

...

George didn’t go out for a few days. He studied the Martial Saint profession and looked for information about Ancient Martial Arts Practitioners.

But he found nothing.

Maybe the Obsidian Academy library had something.

It was the day of the new student exam. Once they passed, they could enter the academy.

Early in the morning, George and Lily arrived at the Obsidian Academy. But they were stopped at the gate.

"New students must have an acceptance letter to enter," the guard said coldly, blocking them.

Many people tried to sneak in before, but he stopped them all. This time would be no different.

"Acceptance letter?" George and Lily looked at each other, both surprised.

"George, Liam probably didn’t give us one," Lily said, frustrated. She just remembered that they needed an acceptance letter to enter the academy.

"I’ll call him," George muttered, thinking Liam was unreliable. He called Liam.

The phone rang for a while, but no one answered.

Probably, their phones were taken after entering the academy.

George sighed and called Ares instead.

The Obsidian Academy was only familiar to him and a few others, like Liam.

The phone rang twice and was answered. George quickly explained the situation.

"You didn’t get the acceptance letter?" Ares was shocked. If it was anyone else, he would think someone was trying to sneak in.

But George and Lily were different. James himself had personally invited them.

"This Thorne is really unreliable!"

Ares cursed under his breath. It was Thorne who had been in charge of accepting them in Aurion City.

"Wait a second, I’ll send the acceptance letter right away," he said, then hung up and immediately asked Thorne about it.

In the meeting room, Thorne was there. When he heard Ares, he slapped his forehead and said, "I forgot about the acceptance letter. I’m sending it right now."
