Game's Extra: Starting With SSS-Ranked 1000-Death Talent-Chapter 59: The Art of Kidnapping
Noa’s sudden declaration stunned everyone in the hall.
Even Tifa squinted her eyes.
"Come again?" she asked.
Noa wasn’t affected by their stares and repeated himself.
"I want to kidnap a man. It’s important and concerns you as well," he answered.
"What do you mean?"
"My promise..." Noa paused. "The man I want to kidnap is the key to saving Rachel."
A booming sound reverberated.
It was followed by shouts in his direction.
Punchy, who stood in front of Viktor, was startled when something exploded in Tifa’s hands.
It was a handmade item she used as a walkie-talkie.
Her anger raised the temperature in the room, and her voice was quicker than the bald man’s, who also tried to confront Noa.
"I warned you not to say her name."
Her voice was calm.
But the meaning behind her actions wasn’t.
"And I don’t trust you. Now you want someone else to aid you? Not a chance. This wasn’t part of our agreement, and I told you we are leaving."
Noa didn’t give up.
Somehow, his balls were tougher than steel.
"You don’t know what you are talking about," he spoke confidently. "I am not asking for a chance, but one conversation with him would prove my point. His name is Tanaki, and he owns a pharmacy."
No one tried to get into their conversation.
Tifa had known that Noa knew about Rachel’s condition.
But she wasn’t sure if he knew her exact situation.
Now that he had brought up someone working in the pharmacy industry, it proved that he knew more than he let on.
Noa’s next proposition confirmed her suspicions.
"I will eat your curse. If you aren’t convinced after talking to him, I would gladly forfeit my life."
His daring declaration caused a silent uproar.
Red Order members weren’t children to moan in excitement, but they were surprised nonetheless.
Especially Vivi, as the woman scrutinized Noa with everything she had.
Setting a curse on someone was part of Tifa’s Eclipsed-grade skills, allowing her to kill everyone quickly and effectively.
In fact, it came from the object she crafted and hid in her flesh, but Noa didn’t have to expose that.
"Are you sure?" Tifa asked, still suspicious. "If you lied to me and wasted my time before the mission, not even your cute family will be spared."
"I don’t like your tone or you mentioning my siblings, but yes, I can take responsibility for my words."
There was no hint of hesitation or fear in his voice.
Tifa wanted to believe him.
The very thought of curing Rachel and a ray of hope was too precious for her to risk.
Without commenting any further, she touched Noa’s hand.
Her fingers were cold.
Her green-colored fingernails seemed too cute for a woman of her station, but painting them was a habit she picked up from her daughter.
Then her freezing touch was replaced by warmth.
It got hotter and hotter until Noa’s hands stung from the heat.
Yet he didn’t run away from the pain but embraced it.
"You are doing a good job," Tifa teased, her white teeth showing from pleasure.
She liked Noa’s tortured expression.
’I don’t want to give her the satisfaction.’
Noa was determined, and fighting through the pain, he repeated his promise before Tifa demanded.
"Tanaki is the man who can concoct a miracle potion for Rach—no, your daughter," he corrected himself, sensing the woman’s glare.
"And I am the guy you will need to get him on board," he added.
The process lasted for a minute, though it felt like an hour for Noa as his entire body sweated profusely.
Tifa released his wrist.
She was still observing him with doubt.
However, now that the curse was placed on Noa, he didn’t have a means to escape. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
’I can just die and be done with it,’ Noa mused. ’But she doesn’t need to know that.’
The curse left no mark on him.
No special sensation of any system prompts.
Nothing.
The Eclipsed and their power were beyond human understanding, and Noa knew he was fortunate for having a bargaining chip.
If it wasn’t for that, his ass would have been whipped more than once.
"We are going to Tanaki, right?" he asked shamelessly.
The mood was weird in the bunker.
Tifa was agitated for various reasons, mainly because of the longing and the mission.
Punchy seemed angry as always, his eyes searching for an excuse to punch him.
As for Viktor, he looked sad.
For one, he was disappointed at Noa for selling him out and causing his punishment.
But he also wanted to drink, his lips shaking.
"We need to hurry," Tifa said.
She walked upstairs instead of leaving the bunker through the cave.
Others, including Noa, followed her firm steps.
"Caroline is going to find his location and send us there," she announced.
Noa guessed their plan.
Why would the most notable and radical organization use cars for their missions?
Even if they were in their early stages, the government was already intimidated by them, so much so that official bounties would soon be issued on the members.
It didn’t come as a surprise to Noa that he was led somewhere deep inside the bunker.
The layout was fairly easy to remember.
But its remote chambers with locked doors cloaked the site in a veil of secrecy.
Soon, Tifa received a notification from Caroline.
She remained silent and unleashed the passage of the blackest void.
The room had no lights in it.
Noa stepped inside, his vision darkening and his head filling the void with imagination.
Even the sounds were too shy to be seen.
Then, without notice, the room lit up, its floor showing hand-drawn magical patterns.
It was drawing mana from everyone.
"How fascinating!" Noa said aloud, his heart pounding.
Suddenly, his body pixelated as if he were about to degenerate to the last atom.
The same thing happened to the other members, but their reaction was calm, bored even.
As for Noa, he felt impatient.
Thinking about kidnapping Tanaki out of his pharmacy and then conducting a special mission caused his breath to halt with eagerness.
Five seconds later, the room lost the temporary light.
Red Order’s central crew disappeared for two important tasks in one evening.
