Chapter 850

“Damn it! I am not choosing either of them!

Chen Xiaolian swiftly rushed backwards, putting some distance between them before lowering his head to look at the bloody hole on his chest.

The wound was gradually regenerating and closing up while the automatic repair function of the Moonless Fivefold Light Armour had also activated. Numerous bits of metal began gathering upon the damaged area and began patching it up.

It was not as though Chen Xiaolian had not considered the possibility of the negotiation falling through.

Taking the initiative to recklessly send himself into Shen’s hand without any preparation? Chen Xiaolian would not do something so stupid.

Although his strength had yet to reach the same level as Shen, Chen Xiaolian was confident that this was not a completely hopeless battle.

“I’d almost forgotten. Since you have already obtained the angel wings and made contact with the Oddity, the current you would already have mastered a portion of this world’s laws. You can already, to a certain extent, heal your wounds.”

Shen looked at Chen Xiaolian. He did not immediately give chase. “However… you do not possess a body like Tian Lie’s, after all. You’re incapable of blocking off your sense of pain. This means…”

Suddenly, he appeared in front of Chen Xiaolian again and a fist smashed heavily against Chen Xiaolian’s chin, sending him high up into the air before crashing down to the ground.

“The more you stubbornly resist, the more pain you’ll have to endure.”

“What if… I can kill you?”

Chen Xiaolian staggered as he got up. Wiping the blood off the corner of his mouth, he threw a smile at Shen.

“Confidence is a virtue. Arrogance is not.” Shen frowned. “You should be very clear about the gap between us.”

“Then… let’s put it to the test!”

Chen Xiaolian held the bow with his left hand while his right hand gripped the bowstring. Next, he pulled and the bow became like a full moon.

“Shen, I know you are very strong. So strong that not even Du Wei and those old monsters from the same generation as you could match up to you. However… that does not necessarily mean you’re invincible!”

A invisible arrow, formed with energy, began forming between the bow and the bowstring.

But Chen Xiaolian was not aiming the bow at Shen.

Rather, it was aimed at the sky above.

“Matchless Skyfall? Have you gone crazy?”

Shen tilted his head slightly, looking at Chen Xiaolian with a hint of ridicule. “Although Du Wei taught you the moves for it when he gave you the bow, he did not mean for you to use it like this. To begin with, your strength is already not on the same level as mine. Whether or not you can smoothly perform the Matchless Skyfall move aside, even if you can force yourself to do it, do you think that… there is a chance of those scattered power harming even a piece of my hair?”

“Only by trying, can there be a chance of success!”

Chen Xiaolian gave a hard roar. Even though both the bow and arrow were pointed towards the sky above his head, his eyes were fixed intently upon Shen. His fingers twisted the bowstring, which was turned tens of times, creating a taut sound.

“For situations like these, you should be using Star Drop. Still… the result will be the same.” Shen shook his head. There was an indifferent smile on his face. “Forget it. I’ll let you complete this move. It’s been a long time since I last saw it.”

Surprisingly, Shen actually did not attack. Instead, he simply stood there, watching as Chen Xiaolian’s aura accumulated bit by bit.

As Chen Xiaolian continued to accumulate his power, the energy waves emanating from his body grew increasingly terrifying. The energy arrow that was on the bow kept condensing. Initially, it had been invisible and only a silhouette of it could be seen. Gradually, though, it grew clearer until finally, it seemed as though there was really an arrow there.

The moment the arrow appeared, Chen Xiaolian bellowed and released the bowstring.

At the same time, a beam of light also suddenly appeared from his right palm. Like a drop of water falling into sand, it flashed before immediately melding into the bowstring, disappearing without a trace.

A bluish-green beam of light charged towards the sky, seemingly desirous of piercing through the firmament.

Upon reaching the highest point, the bluish-green beam of light suddenly – like erupting fireworks – exploded into countless bluish-green flames, which descended upon the ground.

“Something like this may not even be able to kill off an ordinary [S] class. To use something like this against me…” Shen shook his head helplessly. There was a disdainful smile on his face.

Instantly, however, the smile on his face froze.

Shen had obtained more wings compared to Chen Xiaolian. He could even read a portion of the data streams of a sacred artifact like the Flash Bow of Ketu-Rahu.

Just now, however, Shen was shocked to find out that he could no longer see the data streams from it.

In Shen’s eyes, the bow had suddenly returned to its original appearance.

Something is wrong!

Instinctively, Shen sensed a trace of danger. He wanted to move away, but the bluish-green flames from the Matchless Skyfall move had already engulfed the surrounding area, with Chen Xiaolian at its centre, stretching up to a radius of several kilometres.

At the same time, Shen also sensed the emergence of numerous violent turbulent flows in the surrounding space, trapping him there.

The power of those spatial turbulent flows was not yet strong enough to completely restrict his movements. However, they were enough to disrupt them.

No matter how strong Shen was, no matter how skilled Shen was in controlling space, he could not – while having to face the interfering moves from Chen Xiaolian – immediately do so on such a large scale.

The flames descended.

A layer of faint golden light lit up around Shen’s body, enveloping him.

Although the Matchless Skyfall move was one of the Flash Bow of Ketu-Rahu’s ultimate moves, it was a nigh-meaningless move in a fight between absolute powerhouses like this.

It was indeed a very strong move, However, it was only strong within the – absolutely terrifying – range of attack. On the other hand, the damage it could deal towards those that were caught in the surroundings of the attack range was not particularly outstanding.

This was a move developed by Du Wei to deal with the swarm of Electronic Guardians.

In the past, before Thirty-three Heavens was built, back when they still had to face the endless pursuit from the Development Team, Shen had witnessed Du Wei utilize this Matchless Skyfall move many times in instance dungeons.

Once the bluish-green flames descended, everything – be it the monsters from the instance dungeons or the seemingly endless Electronic Guardians – would be incinerated in an instant. Not even their ashes would be left behind.

The bluish-green flames landed upon the layer of golden light. As Shen expected, the flames were stopped and all they could do was create a sizzling burning sound.

However, aside from the green flames, the move also included a faint trace of light that was near imperceptible to the naked eye.

The light managed to seep through Shen’s layer of golden light!

The faint light seemingly had neither shape nor substance and it instantly disappeared the moment it made contact with Shen.

“It doesn’t matter what you did…” Shen frowned, carefully feeling his own body. He could not find anything abnormal. “It looks like it was in vain.”

Chen Xiaolian gasped heavily. His whole body was on the verge of collapsing, but he simply stared at Shen.

The Matchless Skyfall move had practically drained all his stamina.

However… it was worth it.

During his stay in the graveyard world, he had not obtained more source code from Osgiliath, but he did gain a deeper understanding on how to utilize them.

As he was unleashing the Matchless Skyfall move earlier, he had also made some adjustments to a small piece of code and carefully hid it within the arrow.

Simply put, the piece of code was the equivalent of a virus.

A virus that would throw Shen’s power into a state of chaos for a short time.

Through the previous few exchanges, Chen Xiaolian had already determined that, if they were to simply fight it out, even if he could unleash his maximum skill with the bow, he would still have no chance of hitting Shen with it.

Shen’s control over the laws of space had practically reached the apex. If Chen Xiaolian were to simply continue fighting him as he was, it would truly end the way Shen described, with him being beaten to a near-death state.

In order to stop Shen from avoiding his attack, Chen Xiaolian had no choice but to utilize that one move; expanding the range of attack to the point where Shen would be incapable of either avoiding or deflecting it.

Thankfully, that dangerous move succeeded.

Chen Xiaolian raised his head and threw a contorted smile at him.

“Do you know what I want to do next?”

“You… what’ll you do?” Shen furrowed his brows.

“I WANT TO-”

Chen Xiaolian shouted.

“RUN!”

After bellowing those words, he immediately turned around. A pair of wings spread out from his back and he flew into the distance.

“See you later! Sayonara!”

Some time was needed for the virus to take effect. If he could buy some time…

Bang!

A fist smashed against Chen Xiaolian’s chest, shattering the chest part of the Moonless Fivefold Light Armour to pieces.

“Did you think you can escape?

“Did you think that the Matchless Skyfall move earlier could harm me?”

Shen was standing straight and he looked coldly at Chen Xiaolian as he was blasted away before smashing into the ground. “After displaying that Matchless Skyfall move, how much more power do you have left in you?

“One tenth?

“One twentieth?”

With clenched teeth, Chen Xiaolian got up. He had only just gotten up when another formidable force impacted his chest again.

This time, he was stomped heavily against the ground. Shen’s stamp reduced the thick stone slabs covering the ground into powdery bits and half of Chen Xiaolian’s figure was pushed into the ground.

“You’re an interesting fellow. I really do not want to kill you.” Shen lowered his head to look at Chen Xiaolian, who was caught beneath his foot. Sighing, he continued, “Bring me to Zero City, return the Oddity to me and I will spare you.”

“Spare your bitch ass!” Chen Xiaolian grabbed Shen’s leg with both hands. He could hear cracking sounds from his sternum. It had caved in due to the pressure from Shen’s foot. “Once you finish patching up the world template, won’t I die anyways?”

“But that way, at least, you will disappear in an instant. There’ll be no pain.” Shen shook his head and increased the force in his foot by three notches. “At any rate, there is no personal grudge between us.”

“You can… go eat shit!”

Chen Xiaolian gritted, mustering every drop of strength he could with both hands in an attempt to lift Shen’s foot.

“Then, all I can say is… how regrettable.”

Shen shook his head softly. Next, he stretched out a finger, which he placed directly before Chen Xiaolian’s glabella. “Since you’re the one who built the new Zero City, you must possess the founder’s authority.”

“Hand it over!”

The Moonless Fivefold Light Armour, sensing danger, automatically raised a visor to cover Chen Xiaolian’s whole face. But to Shen, it was no different from a piece of paper.

Chen Xiaolian was still trying his best to lift up Shen’s foot. However, Shen’s power was astonishingly great. No matter how hard he tried, he could not push it away. On the contrary, his body was constantly being pushed down by the foot.

Additionally, Shen had also locked up the surrounding space, making it impossible to utilize his spatial teleportation ability.

Shen’s finger would be penetrating his glabella the very next moment.

Chen Xiaolian gritted his teeth. At this life-threatening moment, everything around him seemingly became slow to the point of being frozen. Every single thing in the world disappeared, leaving only the finger, which was slowly moving forward.

Then…

Just as the finger was about to make contact with the glabella, it suddenly stopped.

Shen suddenly let out a pained roar before taking two staggering steps back.

A cry of joy broke out from Chen Xiaolian’s heart.

He quickly flipped himself up. Looking at Shen, he saw that Shen was holding his head. His body was bent and his whole figure trembled due to the pain. A faint voice emerged from his mouth, “You… what did you do?!”

The virus… it was finally showing its effect!freew ebnove l.com
