Getting spoiled in a woman dominating world-Chapter 68: A-rank Dungeon [2]
Chapter 68: A-rank Dungeon [2]
Brandon exhaled and the dagger in his grip felt comfortable now.
From the depths of the dungeon corridor, more Aberrants emerged... at least a dozen, maybe more.
Their grotesque bodies twisted and shifted unnaturally as they slithered forward.
"KRAAARRCKK" A feral screech tore through the air, and the pack of Aberrants charged.
Brandon’s grip on his dagger tightened.
His body moved on instinct and he stepped forward to meet them head-on—
—but Naevora suddenly grabbed his collar and pulled him back.
"No. Not like that." She smiled and tapped his chest with her finger.
"Use your ether."
Brandon blinked. "Huh?"
"Focus. You’re not some regular dude with just a dagger. You have ether. Use it to enhance yourself."
She shoved him forward, and the first Aberrant leaped at him with a gurgling roar.
’Shit...’
Brandon dodged and the Aberrant’s claws sliced through the air where his head had been a second ago.
He counter-attacked immediately and slashed at its side... but the creature was faster than the previous ones.
It twisted away, avoiding the blade, and another lunged from the right.
Seeing this, Brant took a soft breath and focused on his core, using the Ether energy.
A surge of warmth flooded his veins and the weight in his limbs vanished, his senses expanded, and he felt light.
The world around him slowed.
The Aberrant’s claws were inches from his chest, but now, he could see its movements clearly... every shift of its muscle, every flex of its grotesque limbs.
He moved.
Brandon twisted his body with fluid precision, avoiding the strike by a hair’s breadth.
At the same time, he slammed his dagger upward, piercing the creature’s throat in one swift motion.

The Aberrant choked on its own etheric blood and its body shuddered violently before crumbling lifelessly to the ground.
Brandon hardly had time to react before three more came at him.
He sidestepped the first attack and with a single pivot, he dodged another swipe and slashed across an Aberrant’s chest, his dagger cutting through its flesh like butter.
Another tried to bite at him from behind—
But Brandon suddenly flipped backward, twisting in mid-air, and as he landed, he drove his dagger into the creature’s skull.
THUD.
Its body hit the ground.
Another one leaped at him and the moment its claws came down, Brandon tilted his body, letting the attack graze past him.
He used his momentum and slammed his fist into its stomach.
*THOOM* A deep shockwave burst out from the impact.
The Aberrant staggered backward and its entire frame trembled from the force.
Brandon didn’t let it recover.
He darted forward, his dagger gleaming in his grip, and with one final slash, he cleaved its throat open.
A wet gurgle escaped its lips before it collapsed.
He continued fighting, slashing through the Abberants quickly killing them off.
Brandon exhaled and his body was warm as the ether was still buzzing through his veins.
He closed his eyes for a moment, feeling how light his body is ’It feels good to move around like that...’
’Maybe I like to fight more than I realize.’
Naevora walked to him and patted his shoulder "Not bad, brat... now follow me."
They continued their walk in the E floor and Brandon looked around "Now that I think of it.. if you have cleared this A rank dungeon, it means you have killed the A rank Abberant boss, right?"
"After the boss is killed, the dungeon naturally disappears.. so why is it still here?"
Hearing this, Naevora chuckled faintly "This Dungeon is like a side business to me."
Hm? Brandon raised an eyebrow "Side business?"
With a nod, Naevora spoke "Yep. As long as we don’t kill the A rank boss in the A rank floor, the dungeon won’t disappear and remains intact."
"When I meant I conquered the dungeon, I beat that A rank boss to a pulp... but didn’t land the final blow."
"I left it alive, so it heals itself and as time passes the other Abberants who were killed in the floors will also respawn as long as the boss is alive."
"So, I appoint people from the Awakener’s guild or mercenaries to come here and kill the Abberants... to take their cores and also mine valuable minerals in the dungeon."
"I just need to pay the mercenaries and later sell the minerals and cores in the market or to the government."
"On the vice versa, people give me money to rent the Dungeon and get resources... and the profit earned from that will be shared among us."
"Of course, I still have to keep an eye on things. If I leave the dungeon alone for too long, the Aberrant numbers might grow out of control. If that happens, the creatures could breach the dungeon gate and spill into the outside world."
Naevora’s expression grew slightly more serious. "If an uncontrolled dungeon breach happens, the Aberrants will start rampaging outside the gate. The government will have to send high-rank Awakeners to contain it before it escalates."
"If an A-rank or higher dungeon breaches, it could lead to a full-scale disaster."
She glanced at him "That’s why I check in here every now and then to make sure things stay in balance. I wipe out excess Aberrants, thin their numbers, and make sure the boss doesn’t grow too strong."
"And there is another thing, you can’t farm stuff infinitely... this Dungeon is already getting unstable after years of farming. So one day I will need to kill the boss before the whole dungeon is unstable and the gate breaks."
Brandon was amused to hear this "That’s really a good business. And Abberant cores... They’re used for artifact crafting, right? And energy sources?"
Nodding her head, she replied "High-grade ether cores are worth a fortune. Even the weaker ones have value, especially for research institutions and corporations that use them for power sources or weapon enhancements."
"People pay big money to buy them."
Brandon nodded his head in understanding "I see..."
Naevora smiled faintly "It needs a lot of effort to oversee the dungeons; that’s why I have appointed people for that."
"Oh, by the way, if you need money... don’t hesitate to ask me. It is my duty to take care of you after all."
Hearing this, Brandon smiled faintly "Don’t need for that.. I already have enough money."
Her gaze narrowed slightly ’Maybe I should get a storage artifact for him.’
’But Charlotte is his Big Sister and she has better influence than me... I wonder why she hasn’t given him any useful artifacts.’
Looking at him, a teasing smile appeared on her lips "Brandon, if you defeated the E rank boss... I will teach you a little technique."
Huh? He tilted his eyes curiously "What technique is that?"
She winked her eye playfully before replying "It’s a little technique... but might be helpful for you someday."
