Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All-Chapter 771: Ou Family
Chapter 771: Chapter 771: Ou Family
What Qiao Jun never told Yu Holea was, she was his light. The one who remained in the ups and downs of his life.
Protected him when he almost died.
She was his salvation sent by god.
If there comes a day when he has to live without Yu Holea, he would prefer to die instead.
He was ready to follow Yu Holea wherever she went, even if it meant going to Heaven or Hell with her.
..................
The Ou family.
For the past few weeks, the Ou family has been living in a rundown apartment.
Ou Lin, Mrs. Ou, Mr. Ou, and Ou Xiaoxiao were struggling to keep their expenses down.
Mr. Ou and Ou Lin woke up early every day to discuss business and returned late.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Ou tried her best to smile every single day, but even smiling at that point seemed like a mountain to her.
Ou Xiaoxiao, on the other hand, couldn’t accept the change at all and shouted,
"Ugh! I can’t live like this. When are we going to get out of this hellhole?"
Mrs. Ou’s expression turned dark, and she looked at Ou Xiaoxiao with a chilly smile,
"Oh? Are you tired? Then go and find your lover, the one who you sold all of the secrets of the Ou family."
The reason why the Ou family was bankrupt in the first place was that Ou Xiaoxiao had sold all of the confidential information of the Ou family to their rival family in the name of love.
Ou Xiaoxiao’s face turned sour at her mother’s harsh words. Her voice trembled with frustration, but she still tried to sound confident.
"It wasn’t because of Meng Nanhao!" she snapped.
"He didn’t betray me! It was his family! They forced him to do it. He told me everything! He loves me, Mom. He said he’ll come back and rescue me from this place!"
Mrs. Ou sneered, her eyes sharp as glass.
"Sure," she said, the sarcasm in her voice cutting through the room like a knife.
"Of course he’ll come running, right? The poor rich boy, coming to save the girl who sold her entire family for him."
But in her heart, Mrs. Ou wasn’t just angry—she was cold.
’If only the real Xiaoxiao were here, not this imposter occupying her body... I would have thrown her out the moment I saw her.’
She didn’t say it aloud. Instead, she just stared at the girl in front of her, the one who had destroyed everything.
Ou Xiaoxiao opened her mouth to argue, seeing the hatred in her mother’s eyes, but her phone suddenly lit up and vibrated.
She looked down.
Meng Nanhao.
His name flashed across the screen like a lifeline.
Her eyes lit up, her expression softening as if his name alone could wash away all her guilt.
But before she could answer, Mrs. Ou’s hand shot out. She snatched the phone from her daughter’s grip with a glare that could freeze fire.
"You want to live in this house?" Mrs. Ou said darkly, voice low.
"Fine. But let me make this very clear—if you dare to get physical with that traitor, I’ll throw you out into the street. I will not let you drag us down any further."
She won’t let this impostor sully her daughter’s body!
Ou Xiaoxiao’s eyes widened. She shuddered at the sharp warning in her mother’s voice and slowly nodded.
"Y-Yes, I understand..."
Mrs. Ou stared at her for another long second, then handed the phone back. "Put it on speaker."
Ou Xiaoxiao swallowed hard. Her fingers trembled a little as she tapped the button.
A second later, Meng Nanhao’s smooth voice came through the speaker, filled with fake warmth and charm.
"Babe? Hey, babe! I’ve been thinking about you all day. How are you feeling?"
Ou Xiaoxiao’s lips trembled as tears filled her eyes, though it wasn’t clear whether they were real or forced. Her voice cracked as she answered.
"Nanhao... I’m not doing well at all. I hate this place. I miss you. I want to see you right now..."
There was a pause on the other end. Then Meng Nanhao’s voice came back, quieter this time.
"...I can’t, Xiaoxiao. There’s... some stuff going on. I can’t leave right now. But I miss you, too. So much."
Ou Xiaoxiao sniffled, showing a moved expression. "Really? You’re not just saying that?"
"I’m serious," he said quickly. "Every time I close my eyes, I see you. I want us to be together soon."
She smiled faintly. "You’re so sweet."
Mrs. Ou rolled her eyes but said nothing yet.
Ou Xiaoxiao giggled a little and leaned toward the phone, still on speaker.
"You know, I dreamed of you last night. I was wearing that red dress you like..."
Mrs. Ou stood up abruptly, turning away as if she couldn’t listen anymore. But just as she reached the door, Meng Nanhao’s voice grew serious.
"Xiaoxiao... do you know what your brother and dad are working on now? Like, what project they’re bidding on?"
Mrs. Ou froze mid-step. Her eyes turned icy, and she slowly turned to glare at her daughter.
Ou Xiaoxiao saw the look and hesitated. Her heart pounded, and her throat felt dry.
"I... I don’t know," she said quickly, trying to smile. "They don’t tell me much these days..."
"Can you find out?" Meng Nanhao’s voice dropped lower, more persuasive.
"Please, babe. My father said if we get that project, everything will turn around. He even promised to let us get married."
Ou Xiaoxiao’s eyes widened in shock. "Really? You mean it?"
"I mean it," he said cheerfully. "He told me himself. We’ll be together, just like we always dreamed."
Her voice rose with excitement. "Okay! I’ll find out. I promise!"
Meng Nanhao chuckled, sounding pleased. "That’s my girl."
Then she bit her lip and asked shyly,
"Nanhao... can you send me some money? I... just want to buy a few things. You know, clothes, skincare..."
But his tone suddenly changed.
"Ah—my dad’s calling. I have to go. Talk later, okay? Miss you!"
Before she could say anything else, the call ended.
Ou Xiaoxiao stared at her phone with a dreamy look.
Then, turning to Mrs. Ou, she raised her chin and said smugly,
"See? He does love me. If he didn’t, why would he call me like that?"
Mrs. Ou’s expression was cold as ever. She didn’t look moved in the slightest.
"Oh, he loves you, huh?" she said sarcastically.
"Then why won’t he give you a cent? Why did he rush off the moment you asked for help?"
Ou Xiaoxiao’s face twitched slightly, but she tried to keep smiling. "He’s just busy. You don’t understand him like I do."
Mrs. Ou snorted.
"No. I don’t understand how someone could fall in love with a man who used her like a pawn and still be proud of it."
Ou Xiaoxiao flinched, but said nothing.
Mrs. Ou took a deep breath.
"Just remember what I said. One wrong move—just one—and you’ll be out of this house forever. If you dare to say any more information, I won’t hesitate and deal with you right then and there."
With that, she turned and walked away, her back straight and shoulders stiff.
Ou Xiaoxiao glared at her mother’s retreating back, her eyes burning with frustration.
Her hands balled into fists at her sides as she muttered under her breath,
"How can a mother be so cold-blooded?"
The words tasted bitter on her tongue.
She was still her daughter, wasn’t she? How could she treat her like a stranger, like a traitor?
She turned toward the window, her jaw tight, heart pounding in her chest.
"Fine," she whispered to herself.
"Just wait. Once I become Mrs. Meng, I’ll show them all... I’ll show them the power of true love."
Her mind spun with plans and daydreams.
Once she married Meng Nanhao, she’d walk into the Ou house with her head high, dressed in designer clothes, dripping in jewels.
They would all bow their heads in regret, realizing how wrong they’d been to look down on her.
They’d beg for her forgiveness—but she wouldn’t give it easily. No, not until they truly suffered like she did.
A slow smile crept onto her lips.
"And if Meng Nanhao really did betray me?" she whispered.
"So what? In three months, he’ll regret everything. All those domineering CEO types do. They always come crawling back, don’t they? Real love never dies."
She closed her eyes and imagined it. Meng Nanhao on his knees, holding her hand, his voice shaking with guilt.
"Xiaoxiao," he’d say, "I was wrong. I’ve been a fool. Please take me back..."
She’d glare at him, cold and distant—at first. She’d make him suffer for a few months, of course.
Let him beg.
Let him cry.
And then... only then... she’d forgive him.
She’d throw herself into his arms and give herself to him completely. After that, they’d finally have their happily ever after.
Her heart fluttered at the thought.
Snapping back to reality, she turned to her phone and tapped on the browser.
