Chapter 816: Chapter 816: Little Ou Xiaoxiao

Ou Xiaoxiao blinked at the warm light. It was real. She could feel it. For the first time in what felt like forever, she didn’t feel so alone.

She looked around, eyes wide. The black void around her was changing. The space didn’t feel cold anymore. It felt like... a dream.

Suddenly, she noticed something strange—she was floating.

Her feet weren’t touching anything, but she wasn’t falling either. She spun a little, weightless like a feather, and looked at the people in front of her.

So many different faces.

They stared at her with wide eyes and gentle smiles. But she didn’t know any of them. Not even the one who stood closest—the beautiful lady with long silver hair.

Ou Xiaoxiao tilted her head. "Who... who are you?"

The silver-haired woman looked surprised, like she wasn’t expecting the question.

She stepped forward slowly, then crouched down a little, as if trying to meet Xiaoxiao’s eyes more gently.

"My name is Yu Holea," she said softly. "I’m your cousin."

"Cousin?" Ou Xiaoxiao repeated, confused.

She thought hard. The name didn’t ring any bells... until suddenly, something clicked in her memory.

She gasped, eyes widening. "Wait! Are you the daughter of the head of the Ou Family? The one whom my mother wanted to introduce me to?"

Yu Holea nodded gently.

"Yes. That’s me."

A bright smile lit up Ou Xiaoxiao’s face. "You’re so pretty, cousin! I think I’ll call you Sister Holea, okay?"

Yu Holea’s eyes softened at the name. Her chest felt tight with emotion. Xiaoxiao’s soul looked so small, so young. It hadn’t aged a day since the drowning.

She smiled and reached out a hand.

"Ou Xiaoxiao... you’re so innocent," she said, voice warm and gentle. "I’m sorry for everything. But don’t worry, okay? You’re going to return to your body soon. I just need you to trust me."

Ou Xiaoxiao nodded without hesitation. "You’re my cousin. So I can understand. I trust you."

Yu Holea blinked. She hadn’t expected such pure trust. "Wait... you’re not scared I might be lying?"

Xiaoxiao studied her carefully, then giggled. "You’re funny, Sister Holea. You have silver hair, just like my brother Ou Lin. You both have the same kind of nice face. So I know you’re not lying."

Yu Holea chuckled softly. "You’re right. You’re truly right."

Then she stood up and closed her eyes. A soft glow lit up around her fingers as she pulled out a talisman from her robe.

She flicked it into the air, and as it floated above them, she chanted a few words in an ancient language. The talisman started to glow, then gently drifted down toward Ou Xiaoxiao’s soul.

Down below, in the real world, her body sat quietly on a chair.

The talisman landed on it.

Suddenly, Xiaoxiao felt a strong pull.

She gasped and looked back at Yu Holea, her eyes wide with fear. "Sister Holea! I feel like someone’s grabbing me! Like they want to pull me away!"

Yu Holea gave her a calm smile. "Don’t fight it. It’s okay. Just trust me one more time."

Ou Xiaoxiao nodded and closed her eyes.

She let the strange pulling feeling take her. It was like falling, but soft and warm. She didn’t scream. She trusted Yu Holea.

The next moment, she opened her eyes.

Her body felt strange. Heavier. Taller. She was no longer floating. She looked around and realized—

She was in the same room she saw before. The real world.

And right in front of her... stood the silver-haired woman again.

Xiaoxiao stared at her, still blinking.

"What’s your name again?" she asked softly.

Yu Holea smiled. "I’m Yu Holea. And this—" she turned slightly, "—is Qiao Jun, my boyfriend."

Xiaoxiao looked at the man next to her, studying him closely.

Then her eyes lit up. "Wait! You’re... the Qiao family’s second master, right?!"

Yu Holea nodded slowly, wondering how Xiaoxiao would react. She knew the two had been close when they were little, almost like a childhood sweetheart, and she expected sadness or confusion.

But instead, Xiaoxiao clapped her hands and smiled brightly.

"That’s amazing! If you’re his girlfriend... that means you’ll become my sister-in-law, right?!"

Both Yu Holea and Qiao Jun couldn’t help it.

They burst out laughing.

Just as Yu Holea and Ou Xiaoxiao were laughing together, the door behind them opened with a creak.

A group of people walked in—it was the Ou Family.

Mrs. Ou was in front. When she saw Ou Xiaoxiao sitting on the chair, smiling and chatting like her old self, her heart skipped a beat.

She stared, frozen, for a moment. Then slowly, like she was afraid it might be a dream, she walked toward her daughter.

"Ou... Xiaoxiao?" she called out softly.

Ou Xiaoxiao turned her head at the voice. Her eyes lit up. "Mom!" she called happily, her voice clear and full of joy.

Mrs. Ou gasped, and then her eyes filled with tears. In the next second, she rushed forward and hugged Ou Xiaoxiao tightly. Her shoulders shook as she cried into her daughter’s small body.

"You’re back... You’re really back..." she whispered between sobs. "My baby girl..."

Mr. Ou’s eyes were red too. He looked away for a moment, trying not to cry in front of everyone, but his hands were shaking.

Ou Lin, standing behind them, felt like his heart was floating. The world, which had felt so empty before, suddenly seemed brighter.

He walked up and wrapped his arms around both his mother and sister. "Xiaoxiao... Finally... You’re really back," he said, his voice cracking. His eyes were wet too.

Ou Xiaoxiao blinked. She looked at all of them, confused. Something didn’t feel right.

She tilted her head and said in a soft, careful voice, "Mom... Brother... Why are you crying? Did something happen? Is there something I don’t know?"

The room got quiet.

Mrs. Ou sniffled and wiped her tears. She cupped Xiaoxiao’s face and shook her head. "No, no, you don’t need to worry about anything," she said gently. "You’re back now, that’s all that matters."

Mr. Ou nodded. "We’re just happy. That’s all. You don’t need to know anything more."

Ou Lin added quickly, "We’re just grateful. We’re so, so grateful you came back to us."

Then Mrs. Ou turned to Yu Holea.

She stepped forward, eyes still filled with tears, and without saying anything, she hugged her tightly.

"Thank you," she whispered. "Thank you, thank you, thank you... If it weren’t for you, I might have never seen my daughter again."

She pulled back slightly, holding Yu Holea’s hands. Her voice was shaky with guilt. "I’m sorry, too. I didn’t even tell you anything. I didn’t even reach out. I’m truly guilty. If I had the chance... maybe I could’ve done something. Maybe I could’ve helped you back then..."

Yu Holea smiled softly. She looked calm, even though her silver hair shimmered like moonlight under the ceiling lamp.

"It’s alright," she said. "The past is the past. Let’s forget all that. What matters now is the future."

But then her smile faded a little. She looked around the room and asked in a quiet but serious voice:

"Is the head of the Ou Family still alive?"

Everyone went silent.

The mood changed.

Mr. Ou looked down, rubbing his hands together. Finally, he stepped forward.

"I... I can’t explain everything right now," he said slowly. "It’s very complicated. But please believe me when I say this—we are truly thankful."

Ou Lin walked up next to him and held Yu Holea’s hand. "Thank you," he said, voice firm. "Really, thank you. We owe you more than we can ever repay."

Mrs. Ou nodded, her eyes still wet. "You brought Xiaoxiao back. That’s more than enough."

Then, right there, they started talking about what they could do for her.

Mr. Ou cleared his throat. "We... we want to give you something. As a thank-you. Not as payment—but because you deserve it."

Yu Holea raised her brows. "Oh? What kind of something?"

Mr. Ou smiled gently. "20% of the Ou Corporation shares. I already prepared the contract a while ago. It’s not because of what happened today. I had planned this before. You are family."

Yu Holea blinked. "That’s... a bit much, isn’t it?"

"I don’t think so," Mr. Ou said, shaking his head. "Not at all."

Yu Holea chuckled lightly, shaking her head. "I really don’t want anything. I didn’t help Xiaoxiao because I wanted a reward."

"But we want to give," Mrs. Ou said softly. "So please, just let us."

Ou Lin smiled. "Take it, Sister Holea. This time, let us do something for you."

Yu Holea shook her head and was about to decline when Qiao Jun gracefully went forward and said,

"Alright then. My wife will accept your gifts. However, it would be more sincere if you added something more."

What a joke his wife had suffered so much, and though he could understand the Ou Family’s side, he wasn’t backing down before he got some kind of compensation for her.
