Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle-Chapter 1096: Roan’s Blood
The bird above was none other than Sparky, Shane’s pet, and it had now grown a lot stronger, probably after being taken care of by the small World Tree within the Eclipse Domain.
Needless to say, the other high-level pets that were previously taken care of by Axis are hiding somewhere...
Furthermore, the other trucks were also carrying over 100 Warden Units. Each carried rifles and shock‑blades that could become their best cannon fodder in this war.
Lysandra rode in the lead truck...
Soon, she received various reports from the team leaders...
After all, she needed to ensure that nothing would go wrong in this expedition...
Although the convoy was slow, they had to be steady. She knew speed was dangerous... Moving too quickly would expose them to ambushes. Instead, they advanced cautiously, securing each stretch of road by the scouts before pressing forward.
Her officers reported in regularly for that to happen.
Well, everyone knew the stakes here... They weren’t just marching to fight some Zombies, they were marching to strike at one of the Top Ranking Clan’s main shelters. A single mistake could cost them their lives.
"Alright... It should be about time."
Inside the truck, Lysandra’s voice was calm as she spoke through the radio... "It’s getting late. We’ll be resting at Point B-16 that Kael marked..."
Soon, the convoy halted as they also needed to take some rest and get their trucks checked by the mechanics to ensure that they would not break down mid-way.

Ghoul Shelter lay hidden deep within Sector 19’s dense forest, it was previously a prison and was soon converted to a shelter by an Advanced Shelter Crystal...
At this point, they had placed various defenses aside from the high wall... There were cursed wards, turrets, and an electric fence as well...
Unlike neutral shelters, this place was a fortress, a stronghold of Phoenix Phalanx power.
In one of its halls, the air was thick with smoke, alchemical fumes, and the faint echo of chains. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
At the center of it all was Roan.
The dragon was bound by enchanted chains, and even some mysterious marks etched into the stone floor. Roan’s wings were even bound by enchanted shackles while his scales were dulled by curses that sapped his strength.
From time to time, Phoenix Phalanx healers administered potions to him... It was just enough to close wounds and keep him alive, but never enough to restore his full power. They feared his breath, his claws, and his fury could kill them.
Keeping him weakened was the only way to harvest what they needed.
Alexander, the clan’s leader, stood before Roan with cold eyes...
Ten vials of dragon blood had already been drawn, and it was glowing faintly. Beside them lay a tray of scales and fragments of nails, each piece carefully cataloged.
"Keep him alive," Alexander ordered...
"A living dragon is worth more than a corpse. His blood, his scales, his essence, they will make us stronger. But if he recovers, we’ll all burn."
The soldiers bowed as they knew this very well. Just like that, curses were renewed, chains were tightened, and the dragon’s groans echoed through the chamber.
Alexander then took the vials himself, cradling them as if they were treasures. He left the chamber and strode through Ghoul Shelter’s corridors until he reached the laboratory.
Inside, the atmosphere shifted.
The laboratory was filled with activity. There were bubbling cauldrons, glowing vials, and shelves stacked with rare reagents. Elite alchemists waited eagerly, their eyes fixed on the vials in Alexander’s hands.
At their head stood Leonidas, the chief alchemist.
His robes were newly cleaned as he wanted to ensure that he wouldn’t stain any of the ingredients from the dragon... His hands were trembling with anticipation.
He bowed slightly as he saw the precious blood. "My lord, you’ve finally brought us the blood."
Alexander placed the vials on the central table. "Ten vials. Fresh. I want results."
Leonidas nodded.
"With this, we can begin the potion. An elixir infused with dragon blood will strengthen your body beyond mortal limits. But it must be refined carefully. Raw dragon blood is volatile... it burns the veins or even corrupts the mind. We will need three days to stabilize it into a potion safe to drink."
Alexander’s gaze was sharp. "Three days. No longer."
Leonidas nodded quickly. "It will be done. The blood will be distilled with Spirit Threads to bind its energy, mixed with rare minerals from the forest, and tempered with the Fire King Zombie’s stone fire. The result will be a potion that enhances strength, resilience, and even grants fragments of draconic vitality."
The other alchemists murmured in excitement, already preparing their instruments.
Alexander turned his attention to another matter. "And the poison mist? The dragon’s blood should amplify it."
Leonidas smiled grimly. "Yes, my lord. We already have a base poison... a mist brewed from venomous spores and cursed herbs. With dragon blood added, it will become far more lethal. It will cling to the lungs, burn the flesh, and weaken even the strongest warriors. Two days. That’s all we need. The blood will act as a catalyst, strengthening what we already have."
Alexander’s lips curled into a smile. "Good. When they come to siege us, they’ll choke before they reach the gates."
Leonidas gestured to another table, where dragon scales lay waiting. "And the scales, my lord. They are harder than steel, resistant to fire and magic. We plan to grind them into powder, mix them with alloys, and forge armor plates... It will take longer, but the potential is limitless."
Alexander nodded. He wasn’t a craftsman but he knew that they were telling the truth.
"Do it. Every fragment of Roan will serve us. His blood, his scales, his nails... all of it will become weapons for Phoenix Phalanx."
The laboratory buzzed with activity. Alchemists rushed to their stations, heating cauldrons, and chanting incantations...
Seeing this, Alexander felt satisfied.
He wasn’t sure how much time he had left, but the people he had sent outside to conquer various shelters, should buy him more time...
"Rank 1... I’ll reach it soon..." Alexander muttered as he soon noticed the private messages sent by his subordinates.
As soon as he opened it, his expression turned cold...
