Global Awakening: Infinite Gift Pack System-Chapter 99: The System
Kai didn’t want to reveal too much information about himself.
Even though Hale had saved Wallace and the others, he wasn’t comfortable giving such detail so easily.
Titles were part of his identity, part of the strange system that only he and a handful of other "Foreign Survivors" seemed to possess. Sharing them with someone he barely knew felt reckless.
Kai’s eyes narrowed. "Why do you want to know my titles?"
Hale chuckled after seeing how cautious Kai was.
"If I wanted to hurt you, it would’ve happened already... You’ve seen what I can do. I’m stronger than your entire group combined."
Atom seemed to have noticed that Kai suddenly tensed, so it shifted slightly with its sensors locking onto Hale. However, the Augmented Human didn’t flinch. He seemed almost amused by the suspicion.
He then raised his hand...
"I’m not here to take your loot or your shelter," Hale continued. "I’m searching for someone... someone with a title connected to being chosen by the A.I. Civilization, or perhaps by some A.I. superpower. That’s all."
Kai frowned, his confusion just deepened.
"Chosen? Titles? How do you even know about them?"
He then realized something really important... "Right... Since you know about the Titles, do you have one as well? Do you have a system like ours?"
Kai remembered what Russell, Augustine, and the other members of Haven‑45 had told him. They didn’t have access to the Global Apocalypse System.
They couldn’t see their stats, their titles, or their progression the way he could. That was what made Foreign Survivors different. So how could Hale know about Titles?
Hale’s expression softened. He smiled knowingly, as if he had expected the question.
"That’s true," he admitted. "We don’t have access to the mysterious system said to be a blessing from the Lord of the Realm. We learned that only Foreign Survivors like you could use it."
’Lord of the Realms? Isn’t that from the message we received at the beginning of the Apocalypse?’ Kai thought as he recalled the familiar name.
Furthermore, Kai also realized that Hale seemed to be aware that they weren’t from this world at all.
At this time, Hale paused before reaching into his pocket.
"So... with this crystal, we can see our own status." He revealed.
Kai’s eyes widened. "You can see your stats with that?"
"Yes," Hale said simply.
He held up a faintly glowing crystal with its surface etched with strange markings.
"It’s not the same as your system, but it allows us to measure ourselves. To know where we stand."
Kai leaned closer. He was curious about this item...
He had never seen anything like it.
Hale raised the crystal, and a translucent screen shimmered into existence before them.
"Here," he said. "I’ll show you mine, as a sign of goodwill."
The display revealed Hale’s information in a format eerily similar to Kai’s system interface:
[ Name: Hale Libra ]
[ Title: Veteran, Conqueror, Defender, Warlord, Aria’s Enemy. ]
[ Level: 80 ]
[ Health: 8,500 / 12,200 ]
[ Spirit: 390 / 990 ]
[ Physique Rating: A- ]
[ Active Skills: Gene Burst Lv4, Cellular Regeneration Lv3, Neuroshock Strike Lv5 ]
[ Passive Skills: Enhanced Musculature Lv6, Accelerated Healing Lv5, Combat Instinct Lv7 ]
Kai was shocked to see this...
Although it was missing the Talent part of the stat, it was still incredible!
For a moment, he couldn’t speak. He was trying to process what he was seeing.
Kai’s curiosity sharpened the moment he saw Hale’s final title... Aria’s Enemy.
Aria was a familiar name.
She was the A.I. Rebel of human civilization, a rogue intelligence supposedly instigated by the Anima Civilization, the A.I. empire from beyond this world. If Hale had earned that title, it meant he had truly eliminated a significant number of Aria’s soldiers.
Kai chuckled as he confirmed that Hale was indeed a friend. He couldn’t help but ask, "So... you probably caused a lot of trouble for Aria... Did you destroy their base or something?"
Hale laughed after hearing this.
"Yes... If you destroy a few of Aria’s bases, you’d probably earn that title too. It’s not as glamorous as it sounds... It’s a long campaign or endless battles against machines that don’t tire. They never stop coming."
Kai studied him carefully.
The man wasn’t boasting, he was speaking from experience.
Still, Hale didn’t forget why he was here. His gaze returned to Kai.
"Now... tell me your titles."
Kai smiled since Hale’s sincerity was undeniable. He had saved Wallace and the others, revealed his own stats, and spoken openly about Aria. Kai no longer had a reason to avoid the question, so he decided to reveal them. "Survivor, Pioneer, Siege Breaker."
It wasn’t impressive compared to Hale’s list.
Hale didn’t speak immediately and studied Kai’s face... After a few moments, he nodded.
"So you’re really not him..."
Kai tilted his head. "Not who?"
Hale exhaled...
"I thought you might be the one I was searching for. You’re controlling Atom, an A‑Grade Sentinel. That alone made me suspect you were the chosen individual. But your titles don’t match."
Kai nodded. Now, he couldn’t help but feel curious about the person he was searching for.
Seeing that Hale was already planning to leave, Kai acted immediately as he wasn’t about to let Hale simply walk away. "Wait. Before you leave... that crystal. I need it. Can I buy it from you?"
Hale raised an eyebrow. "The crystal?"
Kai nodded. With that item, anyone could see their own status, even those without the system. It was something that could change everything for his people.
It would be a great help!
But as expected, Hale shook his head.
"It’s expensive. It’s not something I can just hand over. If you want one, you’ll need to find the Gene Trader. He’s the only one who deals in these crystals."
Kai’s eyes lit up.
He didn’t expect this mysterious existence to be mentioned, yet the more he thought about it, the more it made sense.
"The Gene Trader... do you have any idea where to find him?
