GLOBAL AWAKENING: My 10,000x Exp Multiplier-Chapter 58: []The Gale-Sunder Predator, The Prehistoric Glitch
The terminal in the hidden laboratory had told them everything.
Vahn had stood in front of the alien screen for a long time without speaking. Aria had watched his face go from focused to cold to something she had never seen before.
Something close to rage.
The Overlords were not coming. They were already here. Proxy agents embedded in every major city. Resource extraction teams disguised as Syndicate guilds. And a thirty day countdown to a full planetary harvest that made the Convergence look like a warning shot.
He had not told the others everything he saw on that screen. Not yet. Some information needed to be acted on before it could be processed.
He had simply closed the terminal, looked at Aria, and said "We need to move faster."
The jungle should not have been in the middle of the city. It was a mistake in reality. Central Park was now a scary prehistoric place. Huge plants with sharp leaves grew through the roads. Neon green vines were wrapping around old city buses. The sky was purple and glitchy. Strange monsters were flying in the air and screaming.
Vahn Ryker walked through the trees like he was just taking a walk. He wore his black jacket with the Ryker Faction logo on it. His team followed him carefully. Sia Vance held her black shield. Aria walked close to Vahn. Her robes moved as she looked around. Her staff was glowing with a soft light.
"You are doing that thing again," Hana said. She skipped next to them. She looked very energetic. "You have the look where you see everything as code. Is the area glitchy?"
Vahn did not turn around. His purple eyes showed blue circuits. "It is a mess, Hana. The game is trying to put a jungle on top of a city. The boxes are overlapping. If you step in the wrong place, you might fall through the ground into a basement that is not there anymore."
"That sounds bad," Aria said. She stepped over a glowing root. "Why are we here again?"
"Because the Syndicate wants the materials here," Vahn explained. He had a competitive smirk. "They want to kill the boss of this area. It has a Gale-Sunder Heart. They want to make Diamond weapons with it. If they get those weapons, they might be too powerful. If I take the heart first, I control everything."
Suddenly, the ground shook. It was not an earthquake. It was something very heavy hitting the floor. Thump. Thump. Thump.
"Target is here," Sia whispered. Her grey eyes were sharp. She stood in front of Vahn. "Commander, it weighs at least eight tons."
A loud roar ripped through the air. It was so loud that the glass in the nearby buildings shattered. A huge monster came through the trees. It was the Gale-Sunder Tyrannosaurus. It was a Level 58 Mythic beast. It had green bone scales and a tail made of crystals. When it breathed, it made small tornadoes.
[Threat: Gale-Sunder Tyrannosaurus. Level 58 (Mythic).]
[Status: Angry.]
"Mine!" Kora hissed. The little dragon girl jumped down from a tree. She landed on her feet. Her gold eyes looked at the T-Rex’s neck. "Big lizard. Master, can I eat the tail? It looks crunchy."
"Not yet, Kora," Vahn said. He took his hands out of his pockets. "Sia, protect the area. Aria, I need a buffer. The air is moving too much."
"Okay!" Aria hit the ground with her staff. "Holy Sanctuary!" A dome of light appeared. It stopped the wind from hitting the team.
The T-Rex attacked. It was very fast for its size. Its mouth had glowing crystal teeth. It tried to bite them, but Sia did not move. She slammed her shield into the dirt.
BOOM!
The T-Rex hit the shield. The force was huge, but the shield was stronger. A wave of fire came out of the shield and burned the monster’s nose. It screamed in pain.
"Go, Kora," Vahn said.
The dragon girl did not wait. She opened her mouth wide. The air started to pull the T-Rex toward her like a vacuum. The monster tried to fight back. It swung its tail and sent wind blades at the team.
Vahn used his Chronos-Sight. He saw where the blades were going before they even arrived. He moved his hand and changed the gravity. The wind blades flew up into the sky and hit nothing.
"You are too slow," Vahn said. He ran past Sia. He was so fast that he looked like a blur. He did not use a skill. He just used his 9,999 Strength.
He landed on the T-Rex’s back. His boots broke the scales. The monster glowed with green light. It was getting ready to use its strongest attack.
"System," Vahn said coldly. "Target: Mana Core. Take the data. Turn it into EXP."
[Ding! Siphoning started.]
A blue light came out of the T-Rex and went into Vahn’s hand. The monster started to whimper. Its power was being drained like a battery. Its legs got weak and it fell down into a broken fountain.
"Kora, eat," Vahn said as he jumped off.
Kora jumped into the air. Her fists were glowing. She did not just hit the beast. She bit into the blue data stream Vahn had opened. She swallowed the whole monster in one big breath.
The T-Rex did not leave a body. It turned into blue pixels and went into Kora’s mouth.
[You killed the Gale-Sunder Tyrannosaurus!]
[Base EXP: 50,000.]
[Multiplier Applied: 10,000x Factor.]
[Total EXP: 500,000,000.]
Vahn ignored the big number. He walked to the spot where the monster died. He picked up a glowing crystal. It was the Gale-Sunder Heart.
"The Syndicate needs this," Vahn said. He looked at the heart. "Now they cannot make their weapons. Their plan is ruined."
"Vahn, look at your hand," Aria said. She grabbed his wrist. She looked worried. There was blood coming out of his ear and his skin was pulsing with blue lines. "You took too much energy again. You are quite good at hurting yourself."
Vahn gave her a real smile. "I am fine, Aria. We needed this. Now we go to the Golden Scale. I have a trap to set." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Kora let out a very loud burp. Green sparks came out of her mouth. "Spicy lizard. I feel fast!" She started running in circles so fast she looked like a wheel.
"Well," Hana said. "At least Kora is happy. Are we going to sell this heart, Vahn?"
"We are going to use it to lure the Lords into a room," Vahn said. He put his dagger away.
The team walked away from the jungle. Vahn was already thinking about his next move. He had power and money now. The Syndicate thought they were the hunters, but Vahn was the one building the cages.
The purple sky flickered. The world was changing fast. The thirty day countdown was still going. But Vahn felt like he was finally ready to win.
