Global Game: I Can Choose Instance Rewards-Chapter 537 - 367: Battle, Taking Action (Part 2)
The white female Warrior, strong in physique, was still battling the muscular indigenous youth. She realized that this youth, unlike what her Mage companion had said when calling for help to intercept him, should be easy to handle as he was unarmed, yet her rare-grade twin axe strikes were unable to injure him in the slightest.
Each time she swung her axe at the youth, a strange hindering sensation occurred, along with a considerable recoil felt in her hands. Fortunately, her strength and physique were excellent enough that this level of obstruction posed no major problem; she could press on with full force to entangle her opponent, preventing him from interfering with her Mage companion.
The frail white Mage, freed from the enemy’s pursuit, began to dominate the battlefield. He continuously waved his Magic Staff to cast various spells, causing the ordinary indigenous people to suffer greatly.
Among these were direct damage types like the Lightning Chain group attack, as well as control, auxiliary types of spells like Blinding Skill and Madness Skill, combined with various defensive Magic cast upon himself, making him the indisputable focal point of the current battle.
Many indigenes desperately tried to attack him, pouring bullets from their firearms or even throwing grenades, but all were to no avail, as he completely neutralized them, then proceeded to single-handedly crush them.
The remaining black Gunman and white Summoner continued as usual, each using their respective methods to kill. However, they began collaborating, with the Summoner dispatching a swarm of insects to locate some troublesome opponents’ positions, while the Gunman handled them with precision.
Do not underestimate the deterrent power of high-level Gunman players. Bullets fired from their guns not only pack more power than those from lower-level players but can also execute curved shots, ricochet shots, explosive shots, and many uncommon attack styles, allowing them to always find opportunities for headshots unless the enemy hid inside a sealed iron turtle shell.
This unilateral crushing scenario persisted for a while, and within the large iron sheet houses, the hidden indigenous people visibly reduced their offensive, with some unable to resist retreating and fleeing. After all, their losses were too great, and no number of people could compensate for one-sided depletion indefinitely.
"They are almost done. Let’s take them out."
At this point, outside the battlefield, on a nondescript open space, someone’s voice suddenly came from the air. It was none other than the Xia Country Gunman player who arrived from the desert not long ago, having completely hidden himself by some means and discussing now with an unseen companion.
"The risk is a bit high."
A voice responded from elsewhere in the air, seemingly not supportive of this proposal.
"Risk adds excitement... lingering around isn’t my style."
The invisible Xia Country Gunman player finished speaking and began to act, targeting the distant black Gunman shooting wildly inside an iron sheet house, decisively pulling the trigger.
The invisible bullet crossed hundreds of meters, phantasmatically piercing the iron sheet house wall, then precisely hit the back of the black Gunman’s head. Yet, the special bullet failed to kill the Gunman, indicating some invulnerability skill.
"Lock blood ability? These foreigners have nice gear..."
The Xia Country Gunman expressed a hint of surprise, maintained invisibility, and rapidly repositioned himself.
Meanwhile, several tiny, silent mosquitoes rushed to his previous location, only to be sliced in half by some invisible blade halfway.
"I’ll handle their Gunman and Mage, you cover me."
The other Xia Country player who wielded the invisible blade left these words, silently moving towards the enemy ahead. They were now exposed in the perception of the four foreign players, and the battle officially commenced.
"FUCK! Another ambush! Everyone, be cautious!"
The frail Mage, the core among the four foreign players, promptly warned, simultaneously moving his Magic Staff to add several layers of defense to himself, quickly heading towards the iron sheet house where the black Gunman was shot.
This companion now lay face-down on the ground with a ping-pong ball-sized hole in the back of his head—typically a lethal injury, yet he still retained life signs.
"Darky, still think my continuing life Magic is useless, don’t you?"
The frail white Mage casually produced a white sphere via his Magic Staff, which blended into the black man’s body in a blink, beginning to heal the head injury at a biologically-defying speed.
Evidently, the white Mage cast an Advanced Healing Skill, which is generally only mastered by Priest players, indicating that this person wasn’t purely a Mage player but also a high-level Priest player, effectively a dual-class or sub-class character, worthy of leading this player group.
"OH SHIT! I swear I’ll kill whoever dared blow my head off!"
The black-clad Gunman soon stood up, clutching his firearm, and cursed aloud, determined to quickly regain his ground after being stealthily attacked.
"Don’t move, I’ll reinforce your defense, but there’s no continuing life Magic for today. Be careful not to get hit again."
The frail white Mage ignored the black man’s complaint, warning him that a further hit would really put him in danger.
The black man was on the brink of responding when suddenly a mosquito’s faint sound in the air warned, "Watch out!"
Then, in a terrifying display of reflexes, the black Gunman leapt back to dodge, narrowly avoiding an unexpectedly emerged attack within the air—not a sudden increase in reaction speed but a result of him strengthening reflexes using the Gunman’s signature skill, bullet time, knowing mistakes right now would be fatal.
As the black Gunman mentally sighed in relief for dodging the strike and prepared to shoot blindly, he witnessed the white Mage seemingly being struck hard and crashing into the wall. However, his quick response allowed him to instantly use another survival tactic during the flight, disappearing from the spot and escaping the tin house.
The black Gunman promptly unleashed gunfire at the spot where he vanished, aware the enemy must be nearby, determined to kill or drive them off, as they posed a grave threat otherwise.
Poof poof poof~
In the barrage of bullets, several streaks of bright red liquid spurted from the air, almost suggesting he had indeed hit the enemy, delighting the black Gunman.
Yet in the next moment, an immense sense of danger arose, a sharp feeling enveloped his neck, causing his world to spin and swiftly plummet.
"Handled one, but the other won’t be as easy."
A deep voice from a Xia Country Assassin emerged from the air of the iron sheet house, indicating based on his condition that he remained unharmed. Thus, revealing no genuine involvement in combat against the white Mage and black Gunman but only conducting a strategic probe using a special invisible puppet, meant to force out these foreign players’ key skills and explore their capabilities.
The outcome indicated the black Gunman lacked the competent handling of the frail white Mage, as he easily trusted everything seen during the attack, neglecting genuine threat prevention—not like the white Mage, who not only fortified himself with various defensive Magic to prevent an instant kill but quickly executed a proper countermeasure and utilized skills or items to relocate out of harm’s way.
Certainly, this may also relate to the black Gunman’s inferior foundation—had he been equipped skills and gear on par with his Mage companion, likelihood rested on a reversal kill.
