Global Survival: I Have Endless Skeletons-Chapter 171: Thoren’s Plan.
Watching the death of the Gravelord Basilisk, the four Gravemind Devourers released a piercing shriek that echoed across the battlefield.
The sound was harsh, furious, and almost mournful.
It was as if they were enraged at the sight of their powerful minion being slaughtered so easily.
Thoren kept his eyes locked on them, carefully observing their strange behavior with a solemn expression.
Something about their reaction bothered him.
His instincts told him the battle was far from over.
Even though more than half of the Gravemind Devourers’ minions had already been slain, the four beasts themselves did not try to join the battle.
They simply watched from atop the rocks, unmoving, their grotesque bodies pulsating slowly as if they were thinking.
That could only mean one thing.
They still had more beasts under their control.
And just as Thoren had suspected, movement suddenly stirred behind the jagged rock formation.
A pack of wolves emerged from the shadows.
Each wolf was lean and muscular; their body covered in deep black fur that seemed to swallow the surrounding light.
Their fangs glowed faint violet in the dim battlefield, and thin streams of shadow leaked from their paws with every step they took.
They looked less like ordinary wolves and more like living manifestations of darkness.
Low growls rumbled from their throats as they spread across the battlefield.
Their crimson eyes burned with savage bloodlust.
[Dark Mist Ravager]
[Level: 19]
[Attributes: Strength 55, Constitution 44, Agility 60, Spirit 8, Defense 37]
[Trait (1): Dark Mist Bite – A vicious bite that ignores defense and increases attack power by 10%.]
[Trait (2): Shadow Sprint – A rapid burst of speed that allows the creature to close distances almost instantly.]
[Trait (3): Night Shroud – Cloaks its body in darkness, slightly increasing agility and evasion for 10 minutes.]
Thoren stared at the wolves without the slightest hint of fear.
Instead, a faint grin tugged at the corner of his lips.
"Two can play this game..." he whispered quietly.
[Undead Summoning]
[Bone Manipulation.]
The moment the skill activated, the battlefield trembled slightly.
Every corpse scattered across the ground began to stir.
Bones cracked.
Flesh twitched.
Then, one after another, the dead beasts rose from the ground.
The dead answer his call.
Howl!
The pack of Dark Mist Ravagers lunged forward and joined the battle.
Their speed was terrifying.
To Thoren’s eyes, they were nothing more than streaks of moving shadows.
Their bodies were shrouded in swirling dark mist that made their movements difficult to track.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The wolves attacked with savage brutality.
Claws slashed through flesh.
Fangs tore into bone.
They moved with frightening agility, darting through the battlefield faster than the undead could react.
Their attacks were swift and merciless, ripping through skeletons and corpses alike.
For a brief moment, chaos consumed the battlefield.
Undead servants were sent flying across the rocky terrain. Bones shattered and scattered into fragments.
Yet...
Even when they fell, they rose again.
They dragged their broken bones and torn limbs back into the battle.
They continued fighting with relentless determination.
Still, the Dark Mist Ravagers’ proud entrance only lasted a few seconds before the tide of battle began to shift.
Thoren calmly raised his hand.
Without hesitation, he activated his second talent.
Instantly, an illusory lantern appeared in midair above the battlefield.
The lantern floated silently, radiating a pale, ghostly light that spread across the area like a silent wave.
The moment the light touched the wolves, their shadows flickered violently.
The Dark Mist Ravagers instantly lost their cloaking ability.
Their swirling dark mist vanished.
Their bodies were fully exposed.
Bang! Bang!
Howl! Howl!
Blood splattered into the air.
Severed wolf limbs flew across the battlefield.
Broken fangs scattered across the ground.
Once revealed, the wolves lost their greatest advantage.
The undead Rend Colossus moved like an unstoppable killing machine.
Its massive arms swung with terrifying force, grabbing wolves mid-leap and crushing them effortlessly.
One unfortunate beast was torn apart from its jaws downward, its body ripped clean in two before it could even scream.
Not far away, the undead Storm Tyrant brought its massive hammer crashing down.
BOOM!
The impact shattered skulls like fragile glass.
The ground trembled beneath the sheer weight of the blow, sending fragments of bone and flesh flying in every direction.
Elsewhere on the battlefield, the undead Royalty Stonewall advanced with silent precision.
Its massive blade swung once.
Then twice.
Each strike was clean and merciless.
A wolf that attempted to pounce from the side was cleaved in half before it even reached its target.
Its body split into two pieces that collapsed lifelessly onto the blood-soaked ground.
Fearless.
Relentless.
The undead army pressed forward without hesitation.
Some of them had already lost limbs during the earlier clash.
One skeleton fought with only a single arm.
Another dragged itself forward with broken legs, biting and clawing at anything within reach.
Yet none of them stopped fighting.
They continued attacking with the same ferocity as before.
Under the undead’s terrifying killing spree, the Dark Mist Ravagers were rapidly reduced with only a few remaining.
Even the once numerous Starved Drakes and Crawling Horrors had been nearly wiped out.
However, despite the overwhelming victory unfolding before him, Thoren did not believe the battle was over.
Not yet.
Not until the Gravemind Devourers themselves were killed, the battle could never truly end.
Thud!
Thud!
Heavy footsteps echoed from behind the distant rock formations.
Moments later, another wave of beasts appeared.
A new tide of monsters poured into the battlefield.
They rushed forward with the same madness as every other creature that inhabited the Shattered Sky.
However, this time the tide did not stop.
More beasts kept emerging.
Dozens.
Hundreds.
They poured out endlessly from behind the four Gravemind Devourers like a living flood.
Thoren narrowed his eyes.
"This must be all their minions," he muttered quietly.
Looking at the thousands of beasts charging toward his undead servants, Thoren did not feel fear.
Instead, he felt excitement.
’This is it...’
’This is it...’
He screamed the words silently within his heart.
From the corner of his vision, he could see his experience points surging upward at an alarming speed.
Numbers continued to climb rapidly.
And this was exactly what he had been waiting for.
His plan had always been simple.
The moment he realized that the Gravemind Devourers could control beasts, he had decided to use them as stepping stones.
Instead of rushing to kill the Gravemind Devourers immediately, he would take advantage of their endless supply of minions.
Why not use them to sharpen his undead army?
Why not let his servants grow stronger through battle?
Most of his undead were already at Level 18. The few that had not yet reached that level would undoubtedly reach it during this battle.
More importantly, the undead Royalty Stonewall had a chance to reach Level 19.
And the undead Storm Tyrant...
It might even break through and reach Level 20.
To achieve this, however, Thoren had intentionally limited the number of undead servants participating in the battle.
Summoned experience points were divided among every undead servant that fought.
If too many undead participated, the experience would be spread thinly.
But with fewer undead on the battlefield, each one could grow rapidly.
They would rise in strength by leaps and bounds.
Thoren stared at the incoming horde of beasts.
Thousands of beasts.
Most of them ranged between Level 18 and Level 19.
Seeing this, he knew his plan had worked perfectly.
Now he only needed to ensure that he did not lose too many of his undead servants.
After all, these undead servants would form the core of his future army.
His elite legion.
Just imagining an entire legion of Level 20 undead servants made his blood boil with excitement.
