Goddess's Yuri harem: Chosing the Empress is hard-Chapter 90: Unexpected Distrubances- Part 3
Chapter 90: 90: Unexpected Distrubances- Part 3
"What exactly were you doing in there?" Shanti finally asked, folding her arms.
Auriel exhaled sharply.
"Investigating, "There was a stronghold of dark magic hidden beneath the surface. A group was trying to create a new goddess—one born from corruption. I managed to stop it before things got worse, but...Something else was there. A presence. It was intelligent and aware of my interference."
She admitted, her expression darkened.
Shanti’s expression remained unreadable, but Auriel could tell she was processing the information carefully. After a long pause, the celestial goddess finally spoke.
"This is troubling. The divine realms have been... restless lately. Some of the gods have noticed distortions in the flow of fate. But if what you say is true, this isn’t just a disturbance. This is a direct act against the divine order."
She admitted.
Auriel nodded.
"I tried reaching out to the other gods earlier, but I was blocked. I don’t know if it was this entity’s doing, but I couldn’t connect to the heavens."
Shanti hummed thoughtfully.
"Then this is more dangerous than I thought. We should return to the temple. The others need to hear of this. If someone—or something—is interfering with the gods themselves, we must act quickly."
She turned to look at Auriel again, her golden eyes gleaming with quiet resolve.
Auriel agreed.
"And I need to check on Carol and Lilith. This corruption might not be contained to just that hidden sanctuary."
Shanti extended her hand again, this time as an offer to teleport.
"Come. I will take us back."
Auriel took her hand without hesitation, and with a flash of divine light, they vanished from the fading rift, returning to the mortal realm.
The temple was bathed in the soft glow of dawn when they arrived. The grand halls, once a sanctuary of peace, now felt eerily tense, as if the temple itself could sense the disturbance in the divine realm.
Auriel wasted no time as she marched toward the main chamber, where Carol and Priestess Lilith were waiting.
The moment Carol saw Auriel, her eyes widened in relief.
"Goddess! You’re back! What happened? You disappeared so suddenly—everyone was worried!"
She ran forward, her expression torn between excitement and concern.
Lilith, ever composed, gave a deep bow to both Auriel and Shanti before speaking.
"Goddess Auriel, we felt something shift in the divine energies not long after you left. I assume your mission uncovered something significant?"
Auriel exchanged a glance with Shanti before nodding.
"It’s worse than we thought. The group we suspected was not just dabbling in dark magic—they were actively trying to create a new goddess, one fueled by corruption. I was able to stop the ritual, but there was another entity present. Something powerful. Something that blocked my connection to the other gods."
Lilith’s normally calm expression turned grave.
"Blocked your connection? That should not be possible."
She echoed.
"It shouldn’t, But it happened. Make sure this information does not leak out. I am trusting you two to keep quiet about this."
Auriel confirmed and also ordered.
Carol frowned, shifting nervously.
"Then... does that mean there’s a being out there powerful enough to interfere with the gods themselves?"
Shanti, who had been silent until now, finally spoke.
"It is not impossible. There have been whispers in the cosmos, signs that something is shifting beyond what we can see. And now, Auriel has confirmed our worst fears—there is an entity lurking in the shadows, waiting."
Lilith’s grip on her robes tightened.
"Then what do we do?"
Auriel exhaled, her mind already running through possible solutions.
"We need to gather the other gods. Even if we can’t contact them through divine means, we must find another way. If someone is targeting us, we can’t afford to be separated."
Carol hesitated before speaking.
"What about the empress selection? Shouldn’t we warn the imperial court? If something happens to the mortal world because of this..."
Auriel sighed.
"We will deal with the mortal realm, but for now, our priority is stopping this corruption at its source. If we fail, no empire will be left standing anyway."
Lilith nodded in agreement. freeweɓnovel-cøm
"Then we must act quickly. I will begin preparations to reach out to the divine forces through our own means. There may be ancient methods hidden in the temple archives that can bypass whatever interference is blocking us."
Shanti stepped forward.
"And I will look into the disturbances in the divine realms. If there is a way to trace the source of this corruption, we must find it before it grows stronger."
Auriel nodded.
"Good. We don’t have much time."
Carol clenched her fists, determination settling into her expression.
"Then let me help, too. I may not be as powerful as you all, but I refuse to sit around and do nothing while our world is in danger."
Auriel looked at her for a long moment before nodding.
"Alright. But be careful. We don’t know how deep this corruption runs."
Carol smiled, her determination unwavering.
"I understand, Goddess. I won’t let you down."
With their plan set, the group began their preparations.
Darkness was rising, and they would need every ounce of strength to face it.
As Shanti prepared to leave, she turned to Auriel with a solemn expression.
"I must go now. There are things I need to investigate in the divine realm. But I will keep you informed about what I find."
Auriel nodded.
"Be careful. Whatever this is, it’s stronger than we anticipated."
Shanti gave a small, knowing smile before vanishing in a shimmer of cosmic light, leaving no trace of her presence behind.
Priestess Lilith, who had been silently observing, finally spoke.
"Goddess Auriel... was she a goddess as well?"
Auriel hesitated for a moment before answering, her expression unreadable.
"The less you know, the better." Her voice was firm. "Forget that you ever saw her. Pretend she was never here."
Lilith frowned slightly but nodded in understanding.
"As you wish, Goddess."
Carol, who had been watching quietly, shifted uncomfortably but didn’t question it further. If Auriel, their goddess, thought it was best to remain silent, then she would trust her judgment.
Still, as they returned to their preparations, an unshakable feeling settled in Lilith’s heart—one that told her this was only the beginning of something far greater than they could imagine.
