Golden Dragon: Six Thousand Years of Empire-Chapter 672 - 384: Come Forth, My Most Treasured Beastman Friend!
As a Monarch, personally going to the frontline is already an unwise move, let alone leading the charge, stepping first into a completely unfamiliar Material Realm, it’s simply the behavior of a mind-befuddled brute.
However, for an ordinary Monarch, that might be the case, but for Noah, the ruler of the Dragon Clan, such a behavior is most fitting. Lightening the frontline and leading the charge is precisely what a Monarch of the Dragon Clan should do.
Of course, similar situations are mostly seen among the rulers of the Colorful Dragon Clan. The Metallic Dragon Race tends to be relatively conservative and more composed. The reason why Noah acts this way is because he can confirm that the opposing side is the Material Realm.
Since it is the Material Realm, what is there to fear? Noah now truly wants to know, in the Material Realm, who exactly can harm him.
Curiosity aside, Noah is quite cautious about his own life. While Noah is certain that he exists at the pinnacle level of the Material Realm, even if there are traps or targeted ambushes on the other side, he can withstand them and break through.
But why trouble himself for no reason? As a Monarch, leading the charge is merely for the soldiers behind to see, to inspire their morale, allowing them to maintain a high fighting spirit.
In fact,
"Come forth, my most cherished beastman friend, Grom."
When Noah poked his head into the cross-realm gate, he initiated a summoning contract he had never used before. Accompanied by the invitation of the contract, the Beastman King from another plane chose to respond without hesitation.
"Noah!"
Traversing the void turbulence, yet still being repeatedly cut by invisible spatial blades, the body of the Beastman King, upon seeing who summoned him, let out a low growl from his throat, like a furiously raging ancient beast roaring.
"Where is this place?"
Grom’s amber-like, tawny beast eyes surveyed the surroundings. As far as he could see, there was nothing material, only the chaotic and exceedingly dangerous void storm howling around.
"Don’t worry, this is just a halfway point of the journey. I am currently in transit, about to enter a dangerous battleground."
Regarding the exceedingly irate Beastman King before him, Noah’s attitude at this moment was very good. In fact, seeing Grom in such a state, for some reason, even improved his initially heavy mood.
"What battleground? How dangerous is it?"
Although asking such questions after responding to the summons appears extremely foolish, Grom had no other choice. This damned reptile signed a contract with him yet never contacted him for almost a century, during which time he was so oppressed he nearly went mad.
"There is a high probability of encountering avatars dispatched by deities."
Noah did not deceive Grom, as there was no need to. The reason this fellow responded to the summons was because he wanted to play at a high level.
Knowing that deities might interfere in the war would not only fail to intimidate this fellow but probably make him extremely excited. He desires to challenge and feel the power of beings at this level.
"Really?"
As expected by Noah, upon knowing they were about to head to a battlefield that might host deity avatars, Grom, the previously angry beast, calmed down, although he merely concealed that fierce energy, waiting for the eventual eruption.
"Do I need to deceive you?"
"If I don’t see any deity avatars later, you’re going to have a fight with me!"
Grom’s fiercely aggressive amber beast eyes fixed on Noah. Compared to his memory, the almost doubled size of the Ancestral Golden Dragon’s body appeared overly enticing and extremely attractive to him.
"Of course, I’ll be glad to oblige!"
Noah retained his warm smile. The reason he could maintain such a mood now was that upon seeing this Beastman King for the first time, Noah realized that the gap that once existed between them had now disappeared, completely erased.
He could no longer sense the oppressive threatening aura that used to emanate from this Beastman King. Of course, the threat still existed but it wasn’t worth his full attention and effort anymore. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
More importantly, in their current positioning, Grom stood opposite Noah. Noah was heading towards an unknown Material Plane, meaning, at this moment, the Beastman King acted as a perfect meat shield standing in front of Noah, using his solid back to fend off unknown threats for Noah.
For this, Noah was naturally deeply moved, and thus paid no mind to Grom’s small verbal offenses. Poor Grom was unaware of this since his only reference point was the Noah crossing the void.
By the time Grom sensed something amiss, the teleportation had ended. The Beastman King’s sturdy latissimus dorsi muscle collided with a spatial membrane that, actually, didn’t offer much resistance, and he fell into a vast underground space.
However, although it was underground, there was not a trace of darkness or dampness. Instead, everywhere were inscriptions symbolizing the Sun, with scorching warm winds swirling through it.
Upon realizing something was amiss, the Beastman King Grom immediately prepared to explode, intending to crush all living beings in sight, as he sensed a few traces of danger.
