Goldy Ascendance: Limitless Celestial!-Chapter 45: Heavenly Sovereign Clans.
The ground beneath us cracked as the man’s Order Dao rippled out, bending nature itself to his will. Rocks, trees, and even the winds answered his silent commands, lashing out at me. His weapon—a seemingly harmless umbrella—unfurled, releasing a flurry of small, razor-sharp swords.
These blades, numbering in the thousands, danced like a storm, tearing through the air with lethal precision, each one imbued with his Darkness Dao, exuding an aura of despair.
But I didn’t flinch. Not yet.
I raised my hand, summoning my White Flames, which swirled around me in a brilliant, radiant dance. Mixed with my spiritual qi, these flames weren’t ordinary—they devoured everything in their path, turning the approaching blades into ash before they even reached me.
The clash of energies created an ear-splitting sound that shook the heavens. The very air seemed to ignite as my flames collided with his swords, space itself warping from the sheer power we unleashed. Clouds twisted in the sky, and the earth trembled beneath our feet, threatening to tear itself apart.
The man sneered, clearly unimpressed. "You think your flames are enough to stop me?"
With a wave of his hand, the darkness thickened, a veil of shadow rising behind him like a tidal wave, swallowing the light. His Order Dao continued to manipulate the battlefield, boulders and debris flying toward me at breakneck speeds, but I had no intention of giving him the satisfaction.
Heh, my flames? You haven’t even seen what I can do yet...
I exhaled, my breath swirling visibly with power. My Space Dao flickered to life, bending the laws of reality around me. Time itself seemed to slow as I stepped forward, my flames now a swirling vortex of energy, shattering every incoming attack. Each of my movements carved a rift through the battlefield, space warping and folding beneath my steps.
The rocks hurled at me simply vanished into the endless void.
The ground quaked, and above us, the skies churned with fury as our powers collided. The heavens themselves trembled, threatening to split apart under the weight of our clash.
But even as the battle raged on, I could feel the presence of watchful eyes. Eyes that didn’t belong to the Demon Sect, nor to the Sky Above Realm. There, hidden in the shadows—just at the edge of my perception—was a figure I knew all too well. My sister and I had barely escaped them once, thanks to the power of my Limitless.
Oh, they’re watching, are they?
Their narrowed gaze tried to pierce through my movements, but they’d find no such weakness in me. I wasn’t some open book to be read by anyone. However, I wasn’t the only one being observed.
I allowed my All-Seeing Sight to sharpen, picking up the subtle presence of others—my father, the Splitting Sword, and a few Elders from my sect. Their familiar auras filled me with both annoyance and amusement.
"Look at that kid!" I heard Elder Wei’s voice in my mind, a mix of awe and humor. "He’s tearing the place apart, but I bet he’s just warming up!"
Elder Han chuckled. "Warming up? More like playing around! Kid’s barely broken a sweat."
But it wasn’t their comments that unsettled me. Above us, hidden in the clouds that I repeatedly split with my flames, was an eye. A golden eye, radiant with malice, its gaze filled with a silent hunger that sent shivers down my spine. It didn’t flinch, not even as our battle raged around it.
That eye...
It wasn’t an ordinary observer. No, this presence was far more dangerous than any sect elder or rogue figure in the shadows. I could feel the barely restrained power in its gaze—enough to tear through realms with a glance. I knew exactly who it belonged to.
The Heavenly Sovereign Clans...
Infamously known as the Heavenly Executioners, they weren’t here for a friendly visit. Their gaze was fixed on both me and my opponent, evaluating us. Judging. It wasn’t just this man’s power that interested them; they were probing me too, possibly sensing things about me that I’d rather keep hidden.
Troublesome.
For the first time in a while, I felt a prickling sense of danger. These weren’t just simple cultivators—they were entities capable of splitting realms with their will alone. If they were watching this fight, then it meant they saw this man as a threat to the balance of the realms.
But if that were the case... maybe this man could be of use to me. A faint smile tugged at the corner of my lips.
Time to end this.
Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes for a moment, letting the energy around me settle.
The man’s countless swords were seconds away from slicing through me, but I remained calm. My flames flickered out for a moment, and the air stilled as if reality itself was holding its breath.
Then, just as the swords were about to pierce me, I vanished.
In a blink, I reappeared behind the man, hidden from sight even to the prying eyes of our observers. My presence was undetectable. I didn’t go for a frontal assault—no, this wasn’t a battle that needed to be won through brute strength.
I attacked his shadow.
The man froze, his body stiffening as my qi wrapped around his essence. His eyes widened in shock as he realized what had happened, but it was too late. His control over the battlefield faltered, the rocks and swords falling to the ground as his Order Dao crumbled.
With a final gasp, the man collapsed to the ground.
The fight was over, but the tension remained thick in the air. I could feel the golden eye in the clouds still watching, its gaze lingering on me longer than I liked. The Heavenly Sovereign Clans would no doubt have questions.
But they’ll have to wait their turn.
The earth below us was cracked and torn asunder, the skies still swirling with the aftermath of our battle. I exhaled, allowing my power to settle back into a quiet storm within me. There was no need to give away more of myself than I had to.
