Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe-Chapter 1622: Two Men
Arcane Alliance Headquarters, Yuanshi City.
Hidden deep within this grand building lay a secret throne room. The vast chamber was dimly lit, its high ceiling disappearing into shadows.
At the far end of the hall, upon a raised platform, a lone figure lounged lazily on an ornate throne.
The Hidden Ruler of Yen-Lu wore loose silk robes that left much of his upper body exposed. Reclining against the throne, he held a long wooden pipe in one hand, occasionally drawing from it as thin wisps of smoke curled through the air.
Before him were three xiangqi boards.
With calm movements and a slightly bored look on his face, he placed a piece onto one of them. Then another. And another.
He played all three games alone, his dark eyes moving between the boards as if facing invisible opponents.
To Tian Di, no one alive was worthy of challenging him. Playing three simultaneous games against himself was both a display of his towering intellect and... his unmistakable arrogance.
A long time later, he looked away from the boards. He turned to the grand balcony on the other side of the throne room. Outside, he saw the clouds in the morning sky starting to slowly darken.
"The winds are starting to change," he murmured, his meaning both literal and metaphorical.
Beyond the lands of Yen-Lu, the world was shifting. A great war was rising on the horizon, its currents beginning to pull the nations of the world into its wake.
Sooner or later, he would have to pick sides.
Until a few decades ago, he had already known which side he would take.
The Cult Leader had once offered him a path to leave this world. In return, he asked for something Tian Di considered utterly insignificant — the lives of everyone who resided in Yen-Lu.
To Tian Di, the pursuit of the higher arcane arts stood above all else. Mortal lives, kingdoms, even entire civilizations, were trivial compared to the promise of ascending to greater knowledge and power.
At the time, the proposal had greatly interested him. In fact, he even looked forward to the Cult Leader’s grand design, believing the chaos it would unleash might provide him with some amusement.
But everything had changed one day.
On that day, a man named Marden Benton appeared before him.
Tian Di had been surprised by how Marden had managed to secretly break free from the hold the Cult Leader had placed upon him.
That alone had been intriguing.
But what surprised him even more was the alternative Marden had offered. It was a choice that promised far greater entertainment than the Cult Leader’s plan ever could.
In the end, the choice had been obvious to Tian Di.
Power, knowledge, pleasure, chaos, he sought whatever made existence more interesting. A predictable outcome, no matter how grand, held little appeal to him.
The Cult Leader’s victory would have been decisive, swift, and ultimately...
"Dull." His lips curled into a cold smile.
He arrived on the balcony, his gaze sweeping over the grand city of Yuanshi, the heart of Yen-Lu.
His silk robes fluttered behind him as a gust of wind swept through. His long, dark hair lifted in the breeze, lending him a strangely heroic presence.
He brought the pipe to his lips and inhaled deeply.
Tian Di thought of Marden’s proposal. It was different.
It promised uncertainty.
Conflict.
A world thrown into utter turmoil where powerful figures clashed, and the future remained unclear until the very last moment.
This kind of chaos was far more entertaining.
And so, Tian Di leaned on the marble railings, a faint smile playing on his lips. When the time came, he would choose the path that offered the most amusement.
After all, to someone like him, the fate of the world was merely another game.
But no matter which side he chose, it mattered little to him.
His supreme strength granted him absolute confidence. In the end, the war, the factions, and the struggles of this world were merely stepping stones.
Regardless of how the conflict unfolded, he was certain of one thing...
He would leave Tron. He would step beyond this world and venture into the Greater Universe.
Such was the unwavering confidence of the Honored One.

Far away, across the Galestine...
In the imperial capital of Acryon, another man stood on the balcony overlooking the vast city below. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Lucian Acadia gazed at the endless lights stretching across the capital city. The night wind brushed against his clothes as he stood silently, his hands resting on the stone railing.
Like Tian Di, he too knew that the great war was approaching.
And like the Honored One of Yen-Lu, he possessed the power to shape the outcome of that war.
But the reason he stood here was very different.
Lucian Acadia did not prepare for war out of curiosity or amusement. He did not view the coming storm as a game between powerful players.
He did it for his people.
For the hundreds of millions who lived under the banner of the Acadian Empire.
And for the billions of innocent souls who inhabited the world of Tron.
The Proud Sun of the Acadian Empire lifted his gaze toward the distant horizon, his golden eyes gleaming with hard resolve.
No matter the cost, he would ensure this world survived the great war to come.
Lucian Acadia, the strongest Magus of the West, carried the burden of an empire on his shoulders. Every decision he made was for the protection of his people and the countless innocent lives that depended on him.
And in the mystical lands of Yen-Lu stood Tian Di, the strongest Magus of the East. A man who viewed the world as little more than a stage for his amusement, where wars and decisions were simply pieces in a grand game.
Two men. Two different ideologies.
Yet both possessed strength that stood at the arcane peak of this world.
One ruled the west. The other stood unrivaled in the east.
When the great war finally arrived, their paths would inevitably cross.
And when the strongest of the west and the strongest of the east finally clashed...
Their battle would shake the whole world!
