Chapter 782: The Eagle Has Landed III

The second half of the game began and the match continued as excitingly as before, but even after fifteen minutes of the first half, there were still no goals and nothing to note other than some yellow cards because some of the players had started getting antsy.

After the sixtieth minute, the managers of both sides started bringing on substitute players to try and change the dynamics of the game and replace some worn out legs.

However, even with the substitutions, the outcome of the game barely changed.

There were some promising attacks, but neither team was even managing to trouble the opposition goalkeepers too much and as far as Jason had been counting, both sides had only managed one shot on target each, despite them having almost ten shots already.

With the match nearing the eightieth minute, it was beginning to look like the match would close out with both sides drawing blanks but all of a sudden Japhet Tanganga dodged past a tired Tierney and sent a low cross into the penalty box.

Son who was often away from the center of the box was there this time to catch it smoothly and rifle it into the bottom right corner of the goal.

The Tottenham fans in the stands went wild. Friendly or not, they were never not going to be excited when they were winning a North London Derby, especially when the Arsenal fans were at the stadium with them.

After screaming in excitement after the ball was put in the back of the net, the taunts began immediately after.

The Arsenal side would have done even worse had they been the ones to score so the Tottenham fans felt very justified to be taunting them.

The dislike the fans of these two sides had for each other couldn’t be quantified by words after all.

Luckily for the Tottenham fans who were high on excitement, their team managed to close out the game with that one goal account.

The Tottenham fans were going to be singing all the way to their homes that afternoon... In fact, some of them might not even be going home immediately after.

This was a result worth celebrating and throwing in the face of every Arsenal fan in the face and there was no better place to do that than ar some bars in a certain hemisphere.

What the Tottenham fans didn’t know was that their excitement was over yet.

With the game over and with them having won, moods were high and it was time to show Jason off to the Tottenham fans.

With victory celebrations over, the Tottenham players had gone down the tunnel, but the Tottenham fans hadn’t left yet.

{And Now, please join me to welcome our newest signing...}

The commentator’s next words could barely be heard over the loud cheers of the Hotspur fans as Jason walked out of the tunnel with a blue and white Tottenham scarf hung on his shoulders.

Beginning to walk around the field, he stayed close enough to the stands that the fans could see him clearly and he was surrounded by club stewards as he moved.

The stewards were there to stop any overexcited fans who might invade the pitch from reaching Jason but the fans contented themselves with watching and clapping as Jason went around.

After walking around, Jason ended things with getting close to the North End stands and gave away the scarf he was wearing to a female fan who looked to be in her mid twenties.

After that, he calmly walked off the field in company of the stewards.

With him done there things moved on to the post match press conference.

Espirito Santos first spent about twenty minutes talking to the reporters about the upcoming season and the team’s prospects and plans going forward.

Then Jason was brought forward for the media unveiling and he was asked a few basic questions about himself and the club.

The club didn’t let the reporters get to into asking questions as this was only an unveiling and they didn’t want to ruin the atmosphere after the win.

The media tended to be insensitive at times like this and would only ask questions that could nudge Jason into saying something that could generate a buzz.

With the club strictly managing things, Jason left the press conference as soon as five minutes was up and the manager wrapped things up as well. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Soon, the van that had brought Jason left the stadium with him once again inside and it took them to the London Hilton hotel, a five star hotel in North London located at Park Lane.

**9th August 2021**

The van arrived at hotel to pick Jason up for his first day of training of the club.

Since he was still in a honeymoon period at the club and he hadn’t gotten his foot down in London yet, the club had to do this much.

Added to the fact that the cameras would be on him today to record his first day of training at the club, the club doing this much was a must.

Kissing Adele goodbye, Jason grabbed his bag and got on the van and it departed with him in tow, the destination?

Hotspur Way, Tottenham’s training ground.

The training ground was a relatively new training ground that the Tottenham team had opened up in 2012.

It had 15 full-size grass pitches, 4 of which were solely dedicated to the first team.

Surprisingly enough, the women’s team and the youth teams also trained at the training grounds so running into them wouldn’t be at all surprising even though they generally trained in different areas and had slightly different schedules.

Jason had arrived early for a meeting with the manager before the training for that day began and the meeting began with Nuno asking him for which jersey number he wanted.

Since Jason’s favorite number, no. 17 was available, Jason decided on that number. He didn’t intend to change it for the forseeable future either.

"Honestly I’m just as new as you are to this club and we both have little experience with the club culture here,"

"What I do want from you as your manager is grit, passion, energy and obedience,"

"There will be good days and I’ll be delusional to think that there wouldn’t be bad days, however we’re in this together and we each have our jobs,"

"I’ll do mine, and I hope you’re buckled in and just as ready to do yours," Nuno told Jason before they left his office.

"I’ll do what is required of me. I’ll do my best for the club," Jason replied with a nod.

"Thank you, that’s all I need. Alright, let’s go meet the lads," Nuno said and pulled open his door, leading the way.
