Greatest Streamer System-Chapter 331 - – Chaos-filled Cooking Show
"Please don't underestimate me, Breeze. I don't know about the others, but…"
A cutting board with a tomato on top of it appeared as the glasses man pressed a button. He looked at it and began to cut it with skillful movement. Afterward, he put the knife down and pushed his glasses up.
"I have studied in a culinary school for 6 months. Saying I can't cook something edible is the same as mocking me."
"It seems one person is spirited," Max commented with a smirk, rubbing the rib that Lily had elbowed earlier. The pain was gone, but he had a feeling this would give a comedic purpose.
"It's good to be spirited, but I believe you guys haven't heard of the dish you have to make, right? I heard I can choose what kind of dish the participants have to make."
Everyone nodded at his words. Miss Misa left the dish's choice to him. Rather than limiting what a content creator could do, she felt that leaving the decision to the judge would be better for achieving a genuine result. It wasn't called a reality show for nothing.
— What kind of dish is it?
— I bet Breeze will have them make noodles or something spicy
— He said nothing that can upset his or LilyPixel's stomach, so I doubt it will be something spicy
— It can also be a specific dish, like Fried Rice or something
The viewers were curious as they waited for Max to reveal the dish the two pairs had to make.
Having to decide it in a short time was hard for him. He also only had a few minutes to talk with Lily about it. And they arrived at a conclusion.
Looking at each other, they nodded softly and Lily spoke, revealing the dish they had to make.
"Make us an omelette rice, an eastern dish. The recipe and the tutorial video have been put on the screen above your kitchen set."
"Feel free to be creative," Max added with a grin as he crossed his legs. "It's a simple but difficult dish. Make it spicy, salty, or sweet. Add meat or patties as much as you want. We will only judge from two things: the aesthetic and the taste."
"Do your best. You have 90 minutes to make it." Lily finished the explanation with a nod. She pressed a button, and the countdown appeared on the set without waiting for the participants to prepare themselves.
5… 4… 3… 2… 1…
"Start cooking!" Find adventures at novelbuddy
The participants scrambled and began cooking. Max and Lily gave some commentary every now and then. But, they seemed to give up after a few minutes and fell silent.
To describe the situation after Max and Lily started the cooking show in one word, it was chaos.
Clang!
"Aah! The sauce! Ugh… Now we have to redo it."
"Princess, you should be careful! This Lobby is set to be similar to the real world, except we can take out items. Heat and everything are transferred with 80% sensitivity compared to real life. Use gloves to take the pan out of the fire."
"Fuu… Fuu… I know. I definitely didn't forget about it!"
Peach and Leticia's pair messed up after making their sauce. The former dropped the tray of the finished product, and they had to redo it once more from scratch.
Meanwhile, Lightning and Tiamat's pair also messed up something. Tiamat was in charge of the rice part. And that was where he messed up.
"So salty. What the heck? The rice in our omelette is supposed to be sweet. Why did you put so much salt in it? You're supposed to use sugar."
"Eh? Isn't this supposed to be sugar? Look here, 3 tablespoons of white sugar. I put 3 tablespoons just as instructed."
"Yes, sugar. But you put in salt!"
"Really?" Tiamat exclaimed and tried the rice. "Ptui, you're right. It's too salty."
"Sigh, you can't even do something right? There is a label that says it's salt. How can you mistake it? And you're supposed to taste it when you're cooking. You won't make a mistake that way."
"My bad, my bad." The blond-haired man raised his hand and apologized. "I will do it again."
"Do it again with the right recipe."
Max watched what transpired and chuckled. He didn't think that his guess was correct.
"They really have no teamwork or skill to cook."
One skilled person and one clumsy person. Whoever put them on the same team was a genius.
— His insight is scary. He knew they couldn't cook before they even cooked!
— He cooked them even before they cook
— lolol, Princess Peach is so clumsy. New trait unlocked
— How can someone mistake salt for sugar? And 3 tbs? Bullsh1t. That's too much!
— I wonder about that. Lightning has done a lot of stuff only for Tiamat to mess up kekw
— 20 minutes have passed, and both teams started from scratch again. They won't be able to make the egg until the last step
— Yeah, the egg will be the hardest one. Breeze and LilyPixel are demons for making this challenge.
Reading the chat on the large screen, Max couldn't help but grin. The recipe and dish looked so easy, but the finishing would be hard.
'I said they are free to add anything. But in this case, they probably won't be able to do anything more than finish the base dish.'
The two pairs were bickering with their partners each time someone messed up. It didn't stop once or twice. Too many mistakes had happened already until Lightning shoved Tiamat away.
"Just crack the egg and stir it. I will finish the rice."
"O-Okay."
That was the correct answer. Their work became twice as fast as before, with Lightning taking over the command.
Watching that pair, Leticia also did the same thing.
"Princess. It's unbecoming of you to cut something with a knife. Please handle the plating and let me finish the egg."
"U-Umu, you know your stuff. A Princess shouldn't cook. Hn hnn, that's right." Peach nodded many times with a smug smile.
Even so, Max could feel that she felt guilty for messing up too many times.
"They are worse than me," Lily commented on the side with her lips curled up. She turned to Max and continued. "I told you, I am a good cook."
"I can't deny that after seeing this." Max scratched his cheek in trouble.
At least Lily didn't burn the egg, and it was actually edible, although the taste was a bit questionable. As expected from someone who wanted to have blue noodles.
Before long, the two pairs finished their cooking. It was plating time, and both pairs did wonderfully. Princess Peach was unexpectedly good at making the food appetizing.
90 minutes had passed since the start. When the countdown ended, the bell rang loudly.
Ring ring ring ring!
"Hands in the air!" Max shouted as he rose from his seat.
Every person in the set raised their hands, stepping away from the kitchen set. They all had a satisfied look, except for Lightning, who thought he was still lacking.
Looking at them briefly, Max nodded and continued.
"It's judging time. Bring the dish to our table."
