Guide To Reign My Tycoon Husbands-Chapter 586: Dog Food
Chapter 586: Dog Food
Qi Yongrui was really amused, but he didn’t say anything and simply nodded. Since Luo Huian wanted him to eat lots, he would try to eat lots. Anyway, this was the first time someone had cooked for him. When he was living in the Qin family, he was not allowed to ask for any special dishes to be cooked.
The chef and the sous chef were appointed by the Qin family, and as he was just an adopted child, he had no right to tell the chefs what he wanted to eat or drink. He was only allowed to eat what was put on the table and be grateful for it because that was a blessing for someone like him.
He picked up the chopsticks, feeling a bit giddy when he saw the many dishes in front of him. In the past, he often wondered why his employees were so excited when they discussed the topic of their spouses cooking for them. He thought that it was such a small thing, and yet they kept harping about it as if it were something special. Like it was.
Back then, he didn’t want to admit that he was jealous, but now that he sat in the chair with the meal prepared for him by his wife sitting in front of him, he had to admit that all those memories didn’t look all that sour.
He picked up a cucumber that had been thinly sliced and marinated with some kind of sauce and took a bite of it. The crunch echoed in the silence of the restaurant as Qi Yongrui brought his free hand to his lips and covered them.
With an appreciative nod, he said to Luo Huian, "It’s good."
Upon hearing his words, Luo Huian turned to look at Old Master Tang, who simply rolled his eyes upon seeing the arrogant glint in her eyes. "There is no need for you to be so arrogant. It’s just a cold salad; if you cannot even make such a simple thing, then I will feel sorry for you."
He then paused and continued, "Even a child can prepare something so simple as this. Do you know that?"
Luo Huian’s eyes widened in anger. She then turned to look at the mer sitting in front of her and then said to him, "Eat something else." As she spoke, she picked up the braised duck meat and then placed it on top of the rice bowl that was stacked like a little tower. "Come on, eat up."
Qi Yongrui looked at Luo Huian’s eyes, which were burning with passion, and then he said to her, "Alright."
Scooping up the rice and the duck meat, Qi Yongrui brought it to his lips and took a bite. He was ready to throw up, as he had never been able to eat meat because of the scent of blood and the fishy taste. Even if it was subtle, he would throw it up because he could never forget the things that happened when he was with Qi Changpu.
The fact that she had killed and cooked the dog that he had been raising and tried to make him eat it all just because he dared to pay more attention to the dog and not her, even when she had given him enough punishments to learn his lesson.
Ever since then, his bulimia had only worsened, and he had never thought of trying to eat anything related to meat. He would try, but it only made him throw up because all he could remember was the scent of the crudely cooked dog meat. The scent of blood of the one thing that had brought him joy.
But as Qi Yongrui took a bite of the duck meat, there was no scent of blood—only a subtle scent of spices and sauces. The second, he chewed the meat, though its texture still made him wince; he didn’t throw it out of his mouth.
Chewing it twice, Qi Yongrui slowly swallowed it.
"It’s good." Before he could stop himself, he praised Luo Huian for her cooking, and it wasn’t fake. He genuinely praised her for her cooking. The duck meat was cooked to perfection and could be pulled off the bones without any problem. The meat didn’t taste fishy or upsetting. The texture was still off-putting, but at least he could eat it without spitting it out.
"It’s good?" Luo Huian repeated. She felt quite smug and turned to look at Old Master Tang. "Did you hear that, Old Tang? It’s good."
"Well, good for you. With the skills that you showed me, I was half sure that the kid was going to throw everything up and curse me as your teacher. But luckily, you have a good husband."
"Just say that I cooked a damn good meal." Luo Huian snapped.
"Uh huh, you didn’t." Old Master Tang waved his hand and then walked into the kitchen.
Luo Huian watched him leave and then turned to look at Qi Yongrui before saying, "He is just too shy to admit that I did a good job." The way she looked at him was like a child who was this close to shedding tears if he dared to say that she didn’t do a good job.
Qi Yongrui smiled at her and nodded. "You are right; you did a good job. This meal is really good."
As if to prove that he was speaking the truth, he reached out, picked up the pork bun and took a bite from it.
When Luo Huian watched the mer eat, she heaved a sigh of relief. It seemed like the spiritual water was indeed of some use. It had solved the problems that Qi Yongrui had while eating food.
For the next fifteen minutes, Qi Yongrui ate and didn’t talk much. He only praised Luo Huian when he liked a dish, and didn’t say anything when he didn’t. Luo Huian kept a close eye on the mer and silently noted down the things that he liked to eat.
It seemed like Qi Yongrui could eat the meat that didn’t have much texture, but not the strong-textured ones, like oysters and everything else. Luo Huian remembered everything in her mind for future reference.
"Are you done?" she asked when Qi Yongrui placed the chopsticks down on the table after taking the last bite of the rice that was in his bowl. She would have liked it if he had eaten another bowl, but Luo Huian didn’t want to push the mer too hard.
Qi Yongrui burped and nodded. "It’s enough. I am afraid that if I eat too much, I will end up throwing everything, so this is all I can eat now." He then looked at the many dishes that were still untouched and felt a bit upset. This was the meal that his wife cooked for him, and he couldn’t even finish it.
As he thought of how this might be the last time he would get the chance to eat the meal cooked by his wife, Qi Yongrui couldn’t let it go to waste. He raised his head and looked at Luo Huian before saying to her, "Can I take these leftovers with me? I have to do overtime tonight, and I am not used to eating the food from the cafeteria."
While the chefs of the cafeteria did try their best to make meals that would suit his palate, Qi Yongrui just could not eat anything that they cooked for him. The meals that Luo Huian made for him suited him just right.
"Sure!" Luo Huian’s eyes brightened when she heard that the mer wanted to take the dishes that she had cooked away. She then turned to look at the elf and asked him to pack the dishes for Qi Yongrui to take away.
When Old Master Tang heard their conversation, he scoffed. However, his eyes were rather soft as he poured some extra broth into the package.

"You can close your mouth now," Qi Yongrui said to Long Zhong, who was still staring at the front with his mouth agape. "There is no need to look so surprised."
Long Zhong closed his mouth right away. He then raised his head and turned to look at Qi Yongrui. "You... you actually ate so much!" Even though Long Zhong saw it with his own eyes, he still couldn’t believe that Qi Yongrui, who would throw up even a salted cracker, would eat so much food and that too in one sitting!
Even though it was just a bowl of rice and a few side dishes, it was still too much for someone like Qi Yongrui.
Qi Yongrui turned to look at Long Zhong, who was sitting next to the driver, and smiled. He said, "What’s there to be surprised about? This is the first time my wife has cooked something for me. Wouldn’t it be rude if I had left it behind?" As he spoke, his eyes softened even further, leaving Long Zhong with a disgusted look on his face.
He was just looking out for his brother from another mother; why was he fed dog food!?
