Guide To Train My Beast Husbands-Chapter 212: A pervert
"What do you mean by that he did the right thing? He could have chosen a woman or a man to stay with and given birth to a child; that way, his future could have been secured. His uncles already have children so the tribe wouldn’t let them starve." Yuan Ni rolled his eyes with some dissatisfaction. To him, Ruan Chanchan’s response was nothing less than her failure in understanding the situation of the poor mer.
"It’s because you do not understand." Ruan Chanchanz sighed with a light shake of her head.
"What do you mean? I am his good friend. If I cannot understand him, who can?" Yuan Ni turned to look at Ruan Chanchan and glared at her harshly. There was a hint of warning in his tone, as if he was telling her to watch it. Though he didn’t say it outright, his intentions were as clear as the day.
Ruan Chanchan glanced at the mer before stating in a soft voice, "Maybe it’s because he never told you about his inner conflicts. His uncles had given up a lot for him, and he feels like he had taken advantage of them. From what you said, his uncles brought him up and only now did they get a chance to carry a child, right? Have you ever thought over a few things? That maybe Su Mo blames himself for slowing his uncles down. Think about it, if his uncles were not raising Su Mo, then they would have gotten hold of a woman or a man to live with them, but they didn’t. Which might add in Su Mo’s guilt."
Ruan Chanchan understood this little concept very well because there was a time when she was in the same position as Su Mo. In her fourth life, a young man ended up taking her in his house as his adoptive sister; clearly, the man had no other feelings for her other than just platonic love. However, as she started to grow up, Ruan Chanchan started to become more and more good looking. Many of the people started to believe that their relationship was impure and the man was raising her in exchange of getting some benefits from her.
Ruan Chanchan wanted to separate from the older brother, but he continued to stay stubborn and told her that he had raised her as his sister and he was not going to give up halfway. The result? The poor man was never able to find a wife and ended up passing on the battlefield without passing on his family line. Even though Ruan Chanchan was not related to it directly, she still felt guilty because it made her feel like she had snatched away the chance of living a normal life from that elder brother.
She knew that if her brother wanted to, then he could have easily abandoned her and married someone, but he didn’t, which ultimately meant that the decision was his own and not something that she forced him to do.
However, she still felt upset and guilty. Even though she did nothing wrong, she still believed that it was all due to her presence in the life of her elder brother that he ended up losing everything. If he hadn’t shown her kindness, then he wouldn’t have been shamed, nor would he be discredited.
Maybe Su Mo had the same kind of thoughts. His uncles had raised him since he was a child and since he had no one to take care of him, they were the ones who fed and clothed him. His uncles treated him as their own and must have never made him feel like he was any different than their own child but Su Mo knew and must have felt the contempt and the discontent of those who wanted to be with his uncle but couldn’t because they were raising him.
So it was not a surprise that the mer wanted to help his uncles raise their children now that they finally wanted to start a family of their own. Su Mo wanted to give them something in return for their grace in raising him all these years.
"That–" Yuan Ni frowned, as he had never thought this deeply. He thought that Su Mo was doing it because he was being stubborn; he had never expected that the mer was doing it to repay the gratitude that he owed to his uncles. His brows furrowed even more and he softly remarked, "But this is something that his uncles did on their own. Why would he feel sorry for it? They were the ones who made the decision."
"Such things cannot be understood with just some casual words. Relationships are complicated and you are too young to understand these things yet."
Ruan Chanchan spoke in a mature manner.
Yuan Ni: "..."
He looked at his tall stature and then looked down at Ruan Chanchan’s childish physique and his lips couldn’t help but twitch in amusement. Clearly the one who was young here was Ruan Chanchan. Why the hell was she speaking to him as if he were the younger one in their dynamic? He was three years older than her. Hello?
Though Yuan Ni was not satisfied by what Ruan Chanchan said to him, he still pursed his lips and swallowed the words that he wanted to say to Ruan Chanchan. After all, the last thing he needed was to get into a fight with her when the two of them were having this nice, comfortable conversation. He had long known that making a remark on the height of a woman was similar to telling a man that he was too small. It was better to just keep it in his heart.
He heaved a sigh to suppress the subtle irritation of being treated like a child by her in his heart and then said to her, "Then what are you going to do? Do you think that you can work with Su Mo?" ?
