Harem app-Chapter 176: Oyakodon?
Chapter 176: Oyakodon?
Isabel had to think fast and decided that, instead of answering Harper’s question, she would simply change the subject.
How? By bringing up a topic that would surely attract both of their attention.
"More importantly, how are you?" Isabel began, ignoring the question. "Have you been to your husband’s house to pack your bags yet?"
Immediately, the ex-teacher’s expression soured as she remembered that. In theory, that man wasn’t supposed to be there, but it was difficult to be absolutely sure.
"I haven’t gone there yet," she commented with a sigh. Then she explained that everything should work out and that he wouldn’t be there.
But, noticing that her mother was hiding something, Alice pressed her a little.
And finally, the woman ended up admitting that a friend of hers had seen the man near the house that morning, which was worrying her.
Naturally, the first solution that everyone in that room thought of was to call Liam to go along. But he couldn’t, after all, he was busy at that moment.
Unfortunately, Lila and Zoe weren’t around either; after all, either of them could kick the ass of any idiot who got in the way.
"You’ll need to pack all the suitcases, won’t you?" Amelia commented. "In that case, wouldn’t it be better to have more people helping? I can go with you, and I can call my dad to carry anything heavy!"
"Yes, I’ll go help too," Isabel quickly chimed into the conversation. "I can help you choose which clothes to keep and which to throw away."
"Well, someone needs to stay behind and finish cleaning the house," Helena commented. "So you can go without me."
"No, dear," Harper began to say. "We can’t leave all the work to you. I’ll help, and we can leave after everything is clean."
And suddenly, all the girls in that room became worried, especially Isabel. After all, there were certain rooms that were still full of cum.
"Don’t worry, I just need to stay here to receive the maids who will do all the hard work," she lied.
"Besides, Mom, we have to go soon, otherwise there won’t be time to pack everything. The cruise leaves tomorrow morning."
"Yes, I think you’d better go soon," Isabel commented as well.
And with that, it was decided that they would go, leaving Helena behind responsible for cleaning everything. And the only thing the girl could think about was how much easier everything would be if Lila were around.
She was the one who always handled cleaning, cooking, and everything else perfectly. Or at least that’s what Helena heard from Lilith; after all, she herself had only lived with the woman for a short time.
Meanwhile, the girls went to Amelia’s house. They tried some sweets that the girl’s mother had made, and her father readily agreed to go help with things.
Armed with a muscular man almost two meters tall, the group went to the house where Harper had lived.
And, as she expected, upon entering, she found her husband. But he was different; he had gained a little weight, his hair was a mess, and both he and the house stank for some reason.
He really looked like a being in deep decay, and Harper even worried if he hadn’t lost even more money gambling. But that was no longer her problem; they had signed the separation of property papers, and the divorce was basically formalized.
The blonde was sure that she would never have to see that man again and breathed a sigh of relief at the thought.
She didn’t know what had happened to him for him to decline so quickly. But she knew it wasn’t her absence; even before, he was becoming addicted to drinking and gambling.
Harper had no way of knowing, but the reason was that the illegal businesses he was involved in had been exposed. And because of that, he felt his life collapsing.
Of course, there was no way to know; the woman’s husband was never someone who trusted her enough to tell her anything at all.
And it wasn’t her problem anymore either.
"Honey," the man began to say with a firm and angry tone. "Why have you been gone for so long?"
He tried to walk towards her, but he could barely stagger. He was clearly out of it, and Harper had no idea what he had consumed to get that way.
And when he was almost reaching her, he tripped over his own feet, falling to his knees in front of his ex-wife.
"Why aren’t you answering me?!" he shouted angrily, then complained that she hadn’t helped him get up. "You ungrateful bitch, after everything I did for you, how dare you leave me behind?"
The blonde took a step back, frightened by her husband’s presence. Isabel, acting more practically, had already called the lawyer, explaining the situation to the man.
Over the phone, the lawyer said he would go there and would also call the police, in case the man decided to resist. After all, Harper already had a restraining order to keep him away.
But, in the meantime, a wall of muscle placed itself between that pathetic man and Harper, ensuring that he had no way to harm her.
"First, from what I heard, you weren’t even supposed to be here," Amelia’s father said with a firm tone that would make anyone tremble. "Besides, you stink. Please leave this place immediately."
Seeing that man almost two meters tall with an intimidating aura, Harper’s ex-husband ended up taking a step back, intimidated, in a quite natural reaction.
"Who are you? What do you know about me and my wife?" He still tried to argue while cowardly taking steps backward.
"I just came to help carry the heavy things," he said firmly. "But I won’t let you act this way in front of me. If you want to talk to someone, then at least act like a human being, because right now you look like a stray dog in the street."
Obviously, that proud man was extremely offended by being treated that way. However, at the same time, he knew he couldn’t do anything against it.
"Now, can you excuse us? We want to go upstairs to finish what we came here to do," that mountain of muscle said with a very firm tone as he took a step forward and prepared to push that trash out of his way.
"No, get out of my house! I have no reason to allow several strangers to enter my residence!" He shouted something like that, but the alcohol made it difficult for him to formulate words.
Then he shouted that only Harper could stay inside, after all, everyone else was trespassing. He also made some other meaningless threats.
"They are not strangers, they are my friends," Alice, whose presence surprisingly hadn’t been noticed by her father, took a step forward and spoke with a firmness that was not common for her.
The girl’s gaze was blazing with the anger she felt for that man, who had never been a good father. And, besides all that, he hadn’t even noticed her presence.
She knew that throughout the divorce discussion, he hadn’t even mentioned her name once, because he had never truly cared about her.
"Daughter," he murmured, surprised. "You understand me, right? Your mother is acting absolutely irrational, don’t you think?"
And without understanding anything about her situation, he tried to appeal for help from his daughter, who was clearly looking at him with a certain contempt.
"Dad, I don’t want to talk to you," Alice said curtly and immediately moved away from that man.
Seeing that no one was on his side and nothing was happening the way he wanted, the man became even more angry.
"If you’re not going to listen to me, I’m calling the police. The house is mine, so I’m in charge!" he said, trying to sound authoritative.
"Actually, you don’t need to worry, sir," suddenly an elegant man wearing a blue suit entered the place. "I’ve already taken the liberty of calling the authorities."
Seeing the lawyer, Harper’s ex-husband immediately became uneasy. That morning, he had asked that man several times to cancel the divorce, but the man insisted on saying that the papers had already been signed.
In his head, he began to imagine that the lawyer was actually conspiring against him. And, in an almost desperate and crazy act, he lunged at everyone there, wanting to use violence to... well, even he didn’t know what he wanted at that point.
"Please, don’t act violently." Before he could touch the elegant man, two policemen entered the house and tried to restrain him.
As he insisted on resisting, Amelia’s father offered to help get rid of him, lifting him up and throwing him out of the house as if he were trash.
But even after all that, he didn’t seem satisfied, and while the poor policemen tried to calm him down.
"I’m going to kill you! If you don’t stop all this now, I’m going to make your life hell!" And proving that his stupidity had no end, he threatened his ex-wife in front of the police.
Hearing this, the blonde trembled with fear for a moment, but took a deep breath and decided to leave the house to face the man eye to eye.
She felt she needed to have one last conversation with him and make it clear that she no longer wanted him in her life.
Not because she thought he deserved an explanation, but she felt it was important for herself to confront him in that way. And she wouldn’t have a better opportunity to do so.
