Chapter 170: Drama

Everyone was settled in, and it was soon time for dinner.

Lake invited Audrey to join them for dinner in the general dining room; he wanted to use the opportunity to officially introduce her to everyone he thought she should be used to.

The dining table was set, but Lake hadn’t come down with Audrey; everyone sat around the table, patiently waiting for Lake and Audrey to arrive.

Sandra sat beside Maria, frowning as she stared into the living room.

"You know, you could have just healed her with your magic," Sandra muttered.

"Yes, but it would be too easy, don’t worry, she’s a wolf; she’ll heal soon," Maria replied.

Sandra scoffed, "Like I care if she heard or not. I just don’t want her near him. I know he’s not my mate; he’s yours, but he’s our pack doctor, and Melody is not a member of this pack, so he shouldn’t be treating her. Aren’t you scared she’d seduce him?" She asked.

Maria chuckled, "Caleb? Oh, don’t worry, he’d rather shoot his balls than cheat on me," She giggled.

Sandra huffed and looked away from Caleb, who was tending to the wound on Melody’s forehead.

"The drama is about to begin. They’re coming," Mary whispered to Sandre beside her.

She looked at her mother and smiled when she saw her giving her a disapproving look, but she that Miranda agreed with her deep down.

Everyone agreed with her; they all knew that Melody was a drama queen.

Lake walked down the stairs first and strode aside to let Audrey and Mikhail walk through.

"The dining is right this way," He pointed to the left side of the living room.

Audrey smiled at him and led Mikhail toward the dining.

As she walked through the living room, she saw Caleb plastering Melody’s forehead and wondered what happened, but it was none of her business; she minded her business and kept leading her son to the dining room.

The moment Melody saw Lake, she pushed Caleb’d hand away from her face.

"Alpha Lake!" She called and stood from the chair, quickly running over to him as he was about to make his way to the dining.

"Melody, you’ve arrived," He asked, not making any move to touch her, but she touched him nevertheless.

Melody held Lake’s arm, tears starting to effortlessly fall from her eyes.

"Alpha, look what they did to me, I...I had just come out of the car when that lady attacked me, and Alpha Sebastian stood and watched her fight me," Melody cried louder, hugging Lake’s arm.

She was glaring at Green; she knew Lake would believe her. He always believed her. In the past years, she had successfully manipulated him into seeing her as the victim, and this would be no different.

She felt embarrassed to really tell him what happened to her, that was why she had lied. She couldn’t possibly tell him that she had refused them entrance and ended up being commanded to hurt herself; no, she didn’t want to look stupid to Lake.

Lake sighed and gently held Melody’s hand, "Green hurt you?" He carefully asked.

Melody nodded, wiping her tears.

"That a lie, Alpha!" Sandra shouted from the dining room.

"Shh!" Ms. Bridget placed her hand over Sandra’s mouth; she had just happened to drop something on the dining table and was about to return to the kitchen when Sandra decided to shout.

Sandra frowned, staring at Miranda for help, but she was successfully ignored.

Lake sighed, "You know it, Melody, I don’t appreciate lies. Tell me what happened, and I will settle it," He released her hand and stepped away from her, but Melody moved closer to him and held his hand again.

"I’m telling the truth, Alpha Lake. I’ve never lied to you," Melody sobbed, sniffing her nose.

Lake looked to the dining table and saw Audrey sitting with her son. Everyone was patiently waiting for him, and he wasn’t in the mood for drama.

He was eager to settle whatever Melody’s problem was so that he could go ahead and spend time with Audrey as he’d planned.

"Come, Melody," He told her and walked away.

Melody wiped her fake tears and followed him. She knew he was going to ask Green to apologize, and that was all she needed. She needed to show everyone who the queen was, and they needed to understand that it was whatever she wanted that happened around here, especially Audrey; she wanted to prove to Audrey that coming down to the States with Lake doesn’t mean she gets to become his Alpha.

However, when Melody reached the dining table, she realized that Audrey was sitting on the chair beside Lake’s own at the head of the table.

She frowned. Lake never invited her to eat with them. Hell, he never even ate with them. He had always eaten alone in his condo, which he never also let her into.

He never invited her to join him and always made sure her food was delivered to the apartment he had given her, which was quite far from the packhouse.

It was clear that he was avoiding proximity with her, but she hadn’t cared then, but now, she would care. She wasn’t going to let Audrey take her place. Audrey will never become Lake’s Luna. Melodyswore never let her three years in the Red Blood Pack go to waste.

Lake stood behind his chair, his eyes finding Green immediately, "Green, did you hurt Melody?" He asked seriously.

Green quickly glanced at Audrey to check if she had caused Audrey trouble on the first day of coming back, but Audrey was giving her a secret smirk, which meant that her action was approved.

Green turned her head to Lake and replied, "No, Alpha, I did nothing to her; Sebastian can confirm that, right?" She turned to Sebastian, who sat beside her.

’So you know my name, you proud peacock,’ Sebastian thought to himself before clearing his throat and smiling at Lake.

"My dear friend, you’ve invited us to introduce us to introduce us to this beautiful lady with her angelic son, I’m disappointed we’re talking about something totally out of our main purpose of gathering here," He paused and turned to Mikhail, "Hello, Handsome, dies your pretty mummy have a boyfriend?" Sebastian winked at Audrey.

Mikhail looked at his mother and furrowed her brows, "Do you have a boyfriend, Moma?" He asked innocently.

Everyone around the table released an amused laughter, loving Mikhail’s innocent question.

Lake did not share in their amusement as he had his eyes glaring at Sebastian; he disliked the fact that Sebastian was flirting with Audrey right in front of him, so he decided to use this opportunity to introduce her to everyone.

"Everyone, thus, is Audrey and her son, Mikhail. She will be staying in the pack with us for a year until her work contract is over. I expect everyone to treat her kindly, just like family; she’s an Alpha wolf, which means her son, even though he hasn’t changed yet, is also an Alpha. I command that every respect you tender to me and Sebastian as an Alpha, be tendered to her and her son, too," He instructed.

"Yes, Alpha," They chorused around the table.

"I would like to warn you all that she is also a with; I know we have witches amongst us, but her power might just be superior to yours, treat her with the honor she deserves, am I understood?" He asked.

Once again, they replied in chorus.

Lake quietly drew out his chair and sat down beside Audrey, forgetting that Melody was still standing behind him and waiting for her justice.

Melody was boiling; she felt abandoned as Lake had totally forgotten about her; she glared at Audrey, balling her fists beside her.

She decided to keep quiet and see if Lake had really forgotten about her, and she got her answer.

Lake was busy dishing food into Mikhail’s plate, stealing glances at Audrey. Melody couldn’t believe it, everyone around the table acted like she had suddenly turned invisible.

"Alpha -"

"Get a chair or something, Melody, don’t cause a scene," Sandra cut her off when she saw her walking over to Lake’s chair to touch him and probably ask for the trouble to be resumed.

Lake suddenly looked back, recalling he had left someone to sit down, "Melody, since you’re not feeling well, you can lie on the sofa, and Ms. Bridget would prepare something nice for you, or do you prefer going home? Andrew can drive you over," He suggested.

"No, no. I’ll just rest in the living room, then," She replied

She met Audrey’s eyes and felt her chest tighten in raw anger, Audrey was giving her a daunting look. Melody never liked losing, and she would show Audrey that she had made the worst choice of her life by deciding to follow Lake back here.

She was about to turn and walk away when she heard a familiar voice.

"Ah, Brother! What a pleasant surprise, you got yourself a Luna!" Mark elegantly walked toward them.
