Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 201: Ava’s plotting
"How did you get your hands on this? Do you know who it belongs to?" Melody asked, looking surprised and a little scared
"Of course, I do. And I also know who wrote it, I know you’ve been dying to know," Ava gave Melody a mysterious smile.
Melody looked around the café and pulled her chair closer to Ava, "Y-you do? Who then? Was she his lover? His mate? Do I still have a chance with him?" She asked, curious to know all the details.
Ava chuckled, "Relax, Melody. The Alpha will be yours at last. Only if you’re ready to do exactly as I’ve asked." She folded the letter and pushed it into her bag.
Melody slowly nodded, "We already talked about this. I’m ready to do whatever you want, Ava, as long as Alpha Lake is mine in the end." She said.
Ava chuckled, "Good. I’m sure you’ve figured he’s very attached to that witch, Audrey. Do you know why?" She asked.
Melody shook her head, "Because she’s a bitch and wants to snatch my man away from me." She said bitterly.
Ava scoffed, "Stop being dumb. Audrey is his mate, his true mate. And it was she who wrote him this letter." She snapped.
Melody froze, "What? How? But... he acts like they’ve just met each other... wait!" Melody gulped, "That means... Mikhail is really his child, he’s the future alpha... what is going on?" She sounded so lost and defeated
"Now you’ve seen you don’t stand a chance with Audrey. But... I have a way," Ava calmly drummed her manicured nails on the table.
Melody shook her head, "I... I don’t think so, Ava. Yes, I wanted to be with Alpha Lake because I was sure he didn’t have a mate; I thought Audrey was just some woman trying to compete with me. But, she’s his mate, and they have a child together. What do you want me to do? Get between them?" She asked, frowning.
Melody sighed, "You know how powerful the mate bond is. Alpha Lake will never look at me." She said and looked away from Ava, biting her lips.
"You idiot. Do you want to be Luna or not?" Ava angrily yanked Melody’s hand and pulled her close to her.
Melody gasped, shocked, "Ava! Leave me alone, you’re hurting me," She frowned, snatching her hand out from Ava’s grasp.
Ava softened her facial expression, smiling apologetically, "I’m sorry, Melody. It’s just, I’ve come this far to help you and I don’t want to see you lose, okay?" She gently tapped Melody’s lap.
She couldn’t risk getting Melody upset, Melody was her tool to achieve her goals.
"But, how do you suppose I get him to like me and not... his true mate?" Melody questioned slowly.
Melody was full of doubt, she couldn’t see any feasible means of going about the situation. She felt like she’d hit a dead end.
"Haven’t you wondered why they haven’t marked each other? Why hasn’t he officially made her his Luna? Why did they separate five years ago?" Ava’s tone was ominous, her eyes narrowed.
Melody slowly thought about what Ava said and realised they were all true.
"That’s true, something doesn’t feel right about them. What happened? Can you tell me?" Melody asked in a lowered voice.
"Of course, I’ll tell you. You just have to promise to do what I say. Do I have your word?" Ava asked.
Melody nodded, "You have my word." She said.
"Great. Okay, long story short. The witch almost got her mate killed, and the only way she could save him was striking a deal with the gods that she would never mate him; if she did, he would die instantly." Ava informed.
Melody parted her lips in realisation, "But, is that also why he doesn’t really seem to remember her back in Paris?" She questioned.
Ava nodded, "Yes, the spell made him forget everything about her, but I guess the mate bond is still present between them. So, this is where you come in. Audrey is trying to be selfish and Mark him even if it meant to kill him. She just wants to become the official Luna of the strongest Pack ever. You, my dear friend, are going to let him know who wrote this letter, and let him know that Audrey only wants to mark him, so he dies and leaves his pack to her." She crossed her legs, smiling conspicuously. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"He would see you as his saviour, and trust me, men fall in love with whoever they feel safe with. You’re on your way to becoming the Luna of the Grey Blood Pack," Ava advised, smirking evilly.
Melody started to feel hopeful again; she shouldn’t feel guilty, she was saving the Alpha from Audrey’s evil plans. He would die if she decided to let Audrey have her way, and she couldn’t let Audrey win. Now, she had a means of officially defeating Audrey, with Alpha Lake by her side, she had nothing to worry about.
"I’ll do it. I will bring that witch and her evil plans to the dust. She can never succeed," Melody sat straight, staring at Ava with renewed energy.
Ava smiled, slowly nodding.
She may or may not have forgotten to tell Melody that reminding Lake of those memories(even though her version was half-truth) was exactly what would trigger his death. But being forgetful is no crime, as long as the information she held back would help her achieve her goal: Lake’s death.
"Then, take it. Hurry, find him and tell him everything before Audrey realises that something is wrong. And, you have to be very convincing, or he won’t believe you, you know he already doesn’t like you that much," Ava rolled her eyes and waved Melody away.
Melody took the folded letter Ava was giving her and slid it inside her purse, "Thank you, I will reward you greatly when I become Luna." She promised before hurrying out of the Café.
Ava chuckled, "Oh, Melody, you will never be Luna." She murmured.
"Let’s see how Audrey survives this one. Not even the gods can save you this time," She smiled to herself, feeling the satisfaction of revenge swell within her.

Audrey ran into the pack house and hurried up to Lake’s condo. She needed to see him before any other person did.
Pushing through the door, she searched the living room and when she didn’t find him there, she wasted no time and immediately headed up to his room.
She now understood why the statue had asked her to find a way to mark Lake. If Lake ever learned the truth from Ava or anyone else, he would die, and even if he didn’t die instantly, he would never want to mate her because he would feel betrayed by her.
Audrey knew what Adeline could do, she was ready to lie to Lake just to get him to hate her and never want anything to do with her.
She reached his door and gently opened it; there he was, sitting on his bed, staring at something in his hand.
"Hey," Audrey called quietly.
She was slowly approaching him, wondering how she was going to go about the marking issue. How was she even going to get him to stay alive when she marked him?
The two situations were life-threatening. If Ava told him about her, he would be in danger, if she marked him, he would be in danger.
She was a moving mess. The statue wasn’t really helpful either; it only provided half solutions, and it didn’t tell her how to handle the aftermath.
But one thing strengthened her will, if the statue asked her to mark Lake, that meant there was a way out.
"Hey, where is Mikhail? Did you find him?" Lake dropped the envelope he was holding on top of the drawer.
Audrey went and sat by his side, "I did. The kids are safe with Maria; they were hiding on top of a tree; that’s why no one could find them... it was quite far away from the pack house, can you imagine?" She chuckled.
Lake sighed in relief, "Thank goodness, I was almost launching a search party into the neighbouring pack," he said.
Audrey smiled, "No need. Our son is fine now." She whispered, shifting closer to him and placing her hand on his thigh, "What’s the problem? You look worried." She asked, placing her head on his shoulder.
Lake pointed to the envelope on top of his drawer, "I can’t find it, the letter. This is the first time I’m staying without it, Who could have taken it?" He questioned, looking angry and worried.
Lake balled his fists and sighed, "I’m sorry, I don’t mean to upset you with my problem -"
"Hey, it’s okay," Audrey held his face and made him look at her, "You can tell me anything, I’m your mate, I’m here to help you." She whispered, leaning her face closer to his.
Lake closed his eyes and placed his forehead on hers, "I shouldn’t be talking about what someone else gave me in front of you... It’s just, I’m really feeling like I’ve lost something very valuable to me, something from my past that connected me to someone... someone special." He confessed.
Audrey bit her lips ’Fuck this!’ She thought and locked her eyes with his.
"What if I’m that special someone?" She asked in a shaky unsure voice.
She didn’t know what she was doing, but she knew this was the point where she either came clean or lost everything for good, including Lake.
Lake’s arms instantly wrapped around her waist and pulled her close, his eyes glowing intensely, "Are you?" His voice was territorial, demanding, pleading.
Audrey drew a shaky breath in and brushed her lips against his, "I’ll tell you what I know on one condition." She caressed his jaw.
Lake was starting to breathe heavily, the scent of Audrey’s arousal was making his wolf go crazy, he needed to have her in that moment, and he didn’t mean having her the ordinary way, he meant having her the way a mate does.
He wanted to claim her as his for good. Something seemed so undeniable between them at that moment, and he didn’t want to deny it anymore.
"I’ll do anything for you, Audrey. Just tell me you’re the person from my past, it’s the only thing my soul and wolf craves, make me complete, please," He whispered, his lips kissing the side of her lips.
Audrey shivered, "Make love to me... mark me, and you’ll find out." She lowered her hand and unzipped his pants, sliding it right in.
"Claim me, my Alpha," Audrey moaned softly into his ear, her hand stroking his shaft with deliberate intent.
A low growl rumbled in Lake’s chest. In a blink, he had her pinned beneath him, dominance radiating from every inch of his body. With one swift motion, he tore her shirt open and tossed it aside, his mouth finding her neck with a hunger that sent shivers down her spine.
Audrey arched into him, a soft cry escaping her parted lips.
"Mark me, Alpha," she whispered breathlessly, her voice trembling with desire. "I’m yours."
