The blizzard howled like a starving beast, its claws of ice raking against the cabin's wards.

Yet even the storm seemed meek compared to the tide of cultists swarming through the snow.

Moca moved quickly, her pale form blurring in the wind, as crimson eyes gleaming eyes locked on to her next target.

These cultists were not mere fanatics...they were augmented human, with enhanced bodies build for prolonged combat.

Their skin normal resisted blades like boiled leather, and their blows heavy enough to shatter stone.

They fought in practiced forms, each strike honed to kill... As they tried to hit Moca in the ribs, their intentions was cracked it.

When they fail on the execution, they targeted her throat, the obvious purpose was to crushed it in a heartbeat.

But Moca just move around their attacks.

And when she retaliate back, her strike were much much faster, and way more deadlier.

She twisted in mid-air, her twin short swords made from her own shadow, flashing like lightning.

The blade drove into a cultist's eye socket with a wet crunch. The man spasmed once, then collapsed.

It didn't take Moca long to realize that the augmentation was not a perfect 100%.

These Augmented flesh was useless when the head was struck true.

A weak point in their extremely durable body. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

"These bastards are tough!"

Kael shouted above the storm, his daggers catching a cultist's fist.

Even with his cosmic energy reinforcing his guard, the impact numbed his arms.

He countered with a slash, his weapon trailing radiant arcs that severed the attacker's arm at the elbow.

Blood sprayed, freezing in the air before it could touch the ground. Yet the cultist did not stop.

His mangled stump writhed with twitching strands of flesh, knitting in grotesque patches as he lunged with his remaining hand.

Kael dodged, cursing.

"They don't go down easy!"

Moca landed beside him, her boots yet again find homage to another head, as it was grinding down on a fallen cultist's skull until it burst with a sickening pop.

"Just aim for the head."

She snarled.

"Their bodies are reinforced, but it would seem their head's are the exception."

To prove it, she seized another assailant by the hood, slammed her forehead into his face, and dropped him lifeless in the snow.

But the horde only thickened.

For every cultist that fell, several more emerged from the blizzard. Their movements were coordinated, relentless, and honed by years of training as much as madness.

One launched at Moca, springing high with coiled strength. She sidestepped, but he twisted in the air and caught her arm, his grip grinding bone with how tight she was grabbed.

In response the shadows beneath erupted at her command, wrapping around his waist and hoisting him aloft.

As the tendrils constricted.

His body split in two, entrails spilling and freezing on the ground. He of course screamed in pain, but even those quickly died down as she shot a fire arrow right through his head.

Kael fought in his own storm.

Three circled him like wolves.

One swept for his legs, another chopped downward at his head. He blocked the low strike, but the higher blow grazed his shoulder, tearing the fabric of clothes, and rooting up his flesh.

Pain flared hot, but he spun, releasing an arc of light that hurled the third away. The man slammed against a tree, ribs shattering, but rose again, his resilience unholy.

Kael's patience snapped.

His blades surged with cosmic energy, carving low to shear an enemy's legs clean at the knees.

The cultist screamed, dragging himself forward on bloody stumps. Kael ended it with a brutal stomp, the skull collapsing under his heel.

Still the enemy pressed in.

But some at the side began chant Utalizing the rune, and the power of their religion Archane, as the green runes glowed brighter as they chanted more and more.

In an instant with the combined prayer of their chant, a large arrow of pure green shit towards Moca.

And she twisted aside, the green arrow pass her and hit the tree behind the moment it did, it atomize, completely erase from phsycial existence.

"Ahh is their no end to them?!"

Moca questioned, the bodies keep piling up, more, and more.

Kael seeing this, then commented.

"This feel coordinated... Everytime we killed a certain amount, exactly seven of them come to attack us, it's like these guys are trying to buy time for something."

And almost as if on que.

A loud roaring sound echoed outwards.

"NmraaaAAAAAAA!!!...

The roar sound inhumane, and was loud enough to shake the earth around them, despite coming from a distance.

"What the hell is that?!"

Kael questioned in panic.

Moca looked ahead, her vision enhanced and precise, she could feel the approaching enemies from the distance closing in from South, East, and West. It was clear they where closing their path so expertly.

The cryokinetic slugs roamed in, their freezing breath thickening the storm into a suffocating fog, that seem to expand reaching the cabin before them.

Kael's landed near Moca, as more cultist came.

But Moca deliver the message.

"We're getting swarm."

She shouted, twisting free of a cultist's chokehold and driving her short-sword into the man's neck.

And his body convulsed even as Moca wrenched the blade deeper, ending it with a gush of blood and vitreous fluid

But in the next instance.

The cabin door burst open.

Students spilled out, weapons drawn in full.

Rex obviously led them, his Top Dog Lore ability responsible for coordinated stance.

Rance followed behind him, with large Great Sword in hand, his usual smirk burned away to a grim snarl.

"What the hell is going on?!"

Rex bellowed, blasting three cultists back with Air Cannon spell that was about to attack Kael.

And Kael deflected a strike and snapped back by saying.

"What does it look like? Cultists...and a slug army right behind them! We got to get out here, but as you can see easier said than done."

There was no time for further words.

As the cultists crashed into the students like a black tide.

On Red command, they instantly retaliated.

Blood sprayed, bones cracked, screams ripped through the snow.

As the students with spear at the four side, yanked there weapons forward.

GUSHHHH!!...

Blood spray outwards.

As the spears behind the shield bearers struct through impaling the enemy with merciless precision.

However as coordinated as Rex had them.

Their numbers formation means nothing with greater numbers.

As the number of cultist increase, more, and more.

To the point.

One of the students at front was crushed in a cultist's grip, as they pulled him, two cultist's grab an arm each after disarming him, and pulled the opposite direction.

They young man screamed in pain.

"Aghhhh...

And then his joints gave in, tearing free with a wet pop before his head caved in against the snowy ground.

More came to attack them, but one of the Frontliner's conjured a fire-spear and pierced deep into an incoming enemy's thigh, only for her jaw to shatter beneath a retaliatory strike.

She managed to immolate her foe before her neck snapped like dry wood.

Seeing the sudden shift in battle in favor of these cultist fucks. Moca voice cut through the slaughter.

"Aim for their heads!"

She shouted aloud, and the message was heard as she vanished in her own shadow, and reappeared behind a cultist, and shattered his cranium with an elbow strike, brains spilling across the snow.

Rance cleaved a cultist nearly in half, his great blade burning through them as he channel heat Astrum through it.

Rex then commanded from the front, every usage of his Lore ability driving his comrades forward despite the carnage.

Also though, the students defense can only hold up for so long.

As backup finally arrived.

As the slugs arrived in full.

The smaller more faster one drilled underneath the ground, as they reach the battlefield first.

Their icy maws burst from the snow, grabbing three students legs at a time and pulling them down.

"Fuckkk!!"

Rex panic, as he ordered.

"Imbued Heat Astrum into your weapon, and release the attack downwards at full power."

Those capable of magic instantly followed Rex orders, their movement synchronized as a result of <Top Dog> as flames burst fort from the blades or weapons of the students, igniting the snow below into pillar of flames that crack the ground, as large pillar of fire flew upwards, burning the the slugs beneath to crisp state.

Meanwhile on the forefront.

The battlefield descended into chaos, steel against flesh, fire against ice, shadow against large waves.

The determined students screamed their war cry, as the cultists roared back with equal fury.

Moca began her slaughter without stop.

If it was not her shadow's that killed the enemies of man and slug, then it was her own skill, as continue attack the head of her oppressors.

Still as the battle waged on, suddenly a voice cut true.

It was the voice of man.

"Original Magic: Crumble."
