HDXD: Omni Harem System-Chapter 246: Enlightenment I
BOOOOOM!!
Loud explosion echoed out into the distance, as nuke like fire balls spread across the land.
As a result a Young Adam began to ran, and ran.
The world blurred around him in streaks of broken stone and blackened ash, his heart slamming against his ribs like a war drum.
Every stride jarred his body, every breath seared his lungs, but his legs refused to stop. At this point and time he was fifteen years old.
It normal to assume, it was an age far too young to have seen so much death, and also far too young to be hunted across the shattered plains of the Monster World by a flying nightmare in the sky.
Yet here he was, feet bleeding against jagged rock, sprinting from a monster whose roar could split mountains in two.
Behind him, a <Black Dragon> was pursuing him, it's wings beating so power, it creates shockwaves that hurled Adam forward, sending him tumbling across the ground in a shower of dust and gravel.
He rolled, skidded, scrambled to his knees, and pushed himself up again, refusing to stay down.
Around his neck, the sensation of his prison pressed cold against his skin.
The collar was pale gray, and look like a tentacle wrapped around his neck. To touch it was to feel no warmth, nor hardness, it was all flesh all things considered.
And not any flesh either.
It was the flesh of a Reality Eater. It power basically sealed Adam own abilities away.
And why does he has this on you might be wondering.
Simple White force him to wear it for their training.
As result it sealed him completely.
His immense strength, his regeneration, and multiple gift of various bloodline was gone, all drowned in silence.
But not all was lost.
Since White can decide what abilities Adam can use and not used.
It goes without saying that he was allowed to used only one current remained power in his arsenal.
And that was the Monster Kind natrual ability to control internal and external Miasma. The corruption... The rot... The power every human feared and every monster instinctively recognized.
And that was the point of his current sealing.
High above, White stood upon the jagged rim of a shattered plateau, her white hair snapping in the wind, her posture as unmoved as the cliffs themselves.
She did not cheer Adam, nor did she guided him, experience was best teacher after all.
Her eyes watched him with the cold patience of a teacher who had already decided the lesson's outcome.
Her voice, though she never opened her mouth, struck his mind clear as a thought, as she talk telepathically to him.
'You cannot master what you will not embrace. Stop running, Adam. Face it. Use the gift of our race to defend yourself already.'
The words rang louder than the dragon's roars.
The beast's shadow swallowed Adam whole as it closed the distance.
It was vast.
Larger than any fortress, larger than any cathedral.
Its body was a canvas of black scales that shimmered with veins of glowing crimson.
Each movement rattled the sky.
And each exhale carried the stench of iron and brimstone. Its wings stretched so far it cast large shadow's on the land below.
And its eyes, two crimson furnaces locked onto Adam with great hate.
"Dammit white, are you trying to kill meeee!"
Adam shouted as he ran and ran.
However White's assessment had been simple...a lower A-rank Black dragon would definitely give Adam the push he needed, in his current state.
With his full power he would just teleport Thai thing to the human world sun and call it a day.
But when your powerless, a beast at this level that could annihilate several moons with a single blast of it's breath.
His human common sense returned.
Even back on Earth pre reincarnation something like this could easily end the world.
As there was no way the combined nations of earth could stand up against this thing.
Armies would break like twigs before its flame.
And here he stood, stripped of all but one ability, tasked with surviving in the name of training.
"Ahhh fuck if."
"I am tired of running."
He said as stop, and turn to face this thing sweath beading down his face.
As he clenched his fists, feeling the situation for what it is, the hopelessness of wearing the collar setting in as the great beast come closer.
And the sting of his helplessness became all but clear.
"Ok Adam, remember your Miasma Control training with Minerva, you can do this, you can this, everything is going to be ok here, all hope is not lost."
Minerva had filled his mind with the intricacies of miasma, advanced constructions, methods of destabilization, unique applications that turned raw corruption into something resembling art.
She had told him of its potential...how it corroded and adapted, how it absorbed the properties of fire, water, air, thunder, minerals, even chemical compounds...if only one allowed it time to erode.
But White had no patience for lessons bound in words.
She believed only in proof by survival.
As for her nature of being a Mimick.
And right then and there the Black dragon began to inhaled. As it prepare to use Dragon Breathe to kill Adam in fell swoop.
Adam's eyes widened.
He could feel it, the way the air warped, the temperature rising, the sheer pressure building in the beast's chest.
His instincts screamed that if he moved an instant too late, his body would vanish into nothingness.
He slammed his palms together, forcing the miasma inside him to erupt outward.
"Original Miasma Technique: Black Casket!"
The corruption spilled out, oily and dark, seeping into the air like smoke. But Adam did not let it disperse.
He willed it tight, thinner, tighter still, until it compressed against his skin like a second layer of skin.
The miasma screamed in protest, straining at its limits, but he forced it down into an armor thin as shedded lizard skin, yet dense beyond measure.
The dragon exhaled.
The world became a pool of black light.
The breath tore through the battlefield, a beam of chaos that melted stone into rivers of light and turned the air itself to ash.
Adam braced for impact.
Black Casket screaming around him as the force struck. His knees buckled, his vision shook, blood streamed from his ears and nose, but the barrier held.
He felt it, the attack was the equivalent of a collapsing sun pressing against his small frame, yet not breaking him, everything was being vaporize without question around him.
When the torrent ceased, the ground was gone. Entire ridges of stone had vanished, the earth flattened into glass.
And everything was set ablaze. Causing Adam to staggered forward, smoke curling from his skin, his chest heaving, but alive nonetheless, Black Casket had protected him from the worst of it at the very least.
"Hahaha... I AM ALIVE!"
He screamed in delight.
The dragon blinked. Its massive head tilted, as if… surprised.
Adam wiped the blood from his lips, a feral grin breaking across his face.
'Still I need to end this.'
His hand lifted, fingers trembling with exhaustion yet steady in will.
'I guess I could try that.'
Adam said, as he began to use another Miasma Technique.
"Blind."
He whispered.
And in that moment, the miasma shot forth, not like a spear, not like a wave, but like a living parasite crawling to the closest available source of infection.
Quicker than what the Black Dragon Could React to. They slipped into the dragon's glowing eyes, unnoticed at first, settling deep into the glowing cores.
And like squeezing a rubber stress ball.
Adam clenched his fist tightly, and the threads detonated.
The dragon howled in great pain.
As its eyes burst in geysers of black flame, smoke pouring from its sockets as the corruption ate through nerves and vessels alike.
It clawed at its own face, carving trenches in the ground with its thrashing.
White's voice echoed into Adam's skull impressed by the display.
"Not bad... Still if you want to end this, you will need to kill it, this dragon is from the Line of Chaos for as long as single piece of it's flesh inbued with it's will remain, it will just constantly ressurect till it's energy is depleted."
The words dug into him.
She was right.
"...I hate to admit it but White has a point here, however easier said than done."
The beast staggered, wings lashing storms of dust across the plain. Even blind, its power swelled.
Its chest glowed brighter, heat waves spilling across the battlefield. Sight was never its true weapon.
So it didn't need it, the battle was more important after all.
For that reason, it went berserk and started to attack randomly.
And Adam stomach twisted.
Black Casket could defend.
Blind could cripple.
But neither could kill it.
As such he was left with three other Original Miasma technique at his disposal alongside some of Minerva own original.
But none of these Miasma techniques carried the firepower needed to end a beast like this.
His mind raced.
His breath hitched, as began to dodge more and more, as the dragon kept attacking without end.
"Come on Adam, think, THINK GODDAMIT!!"
He said to himself as he thought of Minerva's lectures, of miasma's potential to absorb, to erode, to mimic elements if given time. But time was the one thing he didn't have.
Unless he forced something new.
A reckless thought bloomed, as his mind went back quantum physics he studied when he was still Dane Harper.
'That could work... It could kill him. No It would kill him no doubt. But the alternative was worse.'
"Ahh to hell with it."
He said out loud as he pressed his hands together again.
"I think it's time finish that System Mission today that has been roaming for years now."
"This will be sixth Miasma, technique that is an original."
He announced to himself as his entire body trembled.
"If I can't match this dragon in power in my seal state."
His voice cracked, but his eyes sharpened.
"…Then I'll temporarily surpass it."
With that Adam began to focus, as he proceed to draw out his Miasma, ripping out every shred of miasma from his body, dragging it from bone, from marrow, from breath and blood.
It poured out of him in black rivers, the air warping, the ground groaning beneath his feet.
His veins began to burn.
His skin cracked like porcelain glass, as dark lines began spreading due to the rapid seld expulsion of all the Miasma he has in his body.
His vision blurred, and tunneled. Still he pulled more and more.... as the Miasma began to arise in the sky, at single point, create dark sphere, it grew as large a city.
Then as large as multiple cities, and when Adam poured out everything he had. With greater control he began compress the sphere corruption for every side.
Smaller, and smaller until gravity began to collapse more and more up itslef.
The fabric of Space and Time began to distorted.
Trees, rock, mineral, clouds, everything began to arise and descend from Heaven to Earth, and Earth to Heaven.
White looked at Adam as she smile and said.
"This brat never ceases to amaze me."
"My, my, he has really grown."
Rakasha said, at the back of Whites mind.
"Yeah from the weak little kid, to anomaly of the human race is truly starting to show itslef."
Said White, her arms folding.
The entire area was been destroyed.
Adam then looked at the confused Black Dragon smiling as he said.
"Let see you take this you scaley bastard."
"Original Miasma technique no.6: Chaos Eater."
Adam announced the name of his technique naming it after the Lineage the Black Dragon hailed from.
And in the next moment, the miasma collapsed inward, compressed into a single point.
As infinite pressure was born into the world and creation of Black Hole was realize.
The sound was not sound but absence, the shriek of the world recoiling. The earth bent toward it. Stones rose, then boulders, then whole ridges of black glass, screaming as they twisted into the miniature void.
A black hole, the strongest force of nature in the entire universe of his first world.
A force so strong not even light could escape it once caught.
The dragon, blind but not ignorant, turned its head toward him.
Its body stiffened.
Even a creature bred for destruction felt instinctive terror before that void. Its chest swelled, the glow within it brighter than the sun, power gathering for another breath.
But as it fired the attack towards Adam, it instantly got consumed by the singularity, and so too did the creature as it can no longer defend it self.
It rose, till eventually it got devoured by the Singularity.
And the moment it serve it purpose the Black hole shattered like glass.
Leaving the battlefield silent.
And the moment that was completed, Freya voice announced the completion of the mission.
[Notice. Mission Successful]
Because of this Adam achieve something that would one day allow him to use what is known in the present as.
"Divine Promise of Obsoletion."
