Healing a Fallen S-Rank Beastman: Everyone Fights Over the Little Female-Chapter 27: Disgusting.
Lu Xiao was the type of person who would never post on social media unless she absolutely had to, because she really felt she had nothing worth sharing.
’Everyone lives their own life behind closed doors,’ she believed. ’Sharing or not doesn’t change a thing. Maybe its only purpose is to satisfy your own vanity.’
But since Teacher Ai Li had specifically mentioned it, she wouldn’t spoil the fun.
She just posted it and paid it no further mind, little knowing what that one photo would cause.
"It’s here, it’s here! It’s starting!" Teacher Sherry excitedly gripped Lu Xiao’s hand, her eyes fixed on the large screen in front of them in anticipation.
The movies here all used holographic visual projection technology, making it feel completely immersive.
The plot of *Desperate Female Master* was about a male of humble origins who had climbed to the rank of Vice Admiral through military merit. He fell madly in love with a noble female at first sight. To win her over, the Vice Admiral spent all his savings on a green gemstone she admired, all for the sake of earning a single smile from her.
The female accepted him because of this green gemstone, but only gave him the status of a side husband, even though she didn’t have a main husband yet, nor had she promised the position to anyone.
Even so, the Vice Admiral happily accepted. After their marriage, he took on the responsibility of caring for the female.
However, the female went out every day to socialize and have fun, mingling and flirting with different males.
The Vice Admiral saw all of this, but because of his status, he couldn’t interfere with anything his female master did. He couldn’t even object when, just one week after their wedding, she took two more husbands.
He could only endure it in silence, and even had to arrange for the new husbands’ living quarters and manage them.
The female, however, never sought him out on her own, only thinking of him when she was in trouble.
Things took a turn when one of the female’s favored husbands developed a liver problem. The Vice Admiral happened to be a perfect match. Without even asking for his consent, the female sent the Vice Admiral straight to the operating table to have half his liver removed and given to this other husband.
Because of this, the Vice Admiral lost his chance for a promotion to Admiral.
A male who was not physically whole was considered to have no competitive value.
Afterward, the female didn’t even bother to visit the Vice Admiral.
After this incident, the Vice Admiral was completely disheartened. He submitted an application to the Bureau of Spousal Affairs to dissolve his marriage with the female.
He was willing to do this even though it meant he would be publicly flogged, stripped of his military rank, and exiled to a junk planet.
When the female received the news, she first couldn’t believe it, then decided the Vice Admiral was just throwing a tantrum. ’He’s always been so good to me,’ she thought. ’He grants my every request and lets me take whatever I want without complaint. I admit I was a bit unreasonable this time, but I never said I was getting rid of him. What more does he want? I only took half his liver. If I hadn’t, my other husband would have died. Doesn’t he even have that much compassion? I really misjudged him!’
The female decided to give the Vice Admiral the cold shoulder for a while.
But the Vice Admiral was unwilling to wait. Having just been discharged from the hospital, he immediately submitted to the flogging. After one hundred lashes, even with his excellent constitution, he was on the brink of death—not to mention he was still recovering from major surgery.
When he was taken to the hospital, the Vice Admiral told the doctors who rushed to his side not to save him.
The female received another message, but she still ignored it. ’The Vice Admiral is just doing this over and over again to get my attention,’ she thought. ’I knew I shouldn’t have spoiled him so much.’
But she never expected that the third message she received would be an invitation to the Vice Admiral’s funeral.
When she rushed over and saw his picture at the funeral, she finally realized what she had lost.
The female was filled with endless regret. She eventually dismissed her two other husbands. It wasn’t until many years later that someone saw her with a young male by her side who bore a striking resemblance to the late Vice Admiral.
The film ended there. Inside the theater, many of the females were sobbing and lamenting—
"Director Audrey, why couldn’t you give her a happy ending? She already regretted it!"
"How could the Vice Admiral be so drastic? He promised to give her everything, so how could he do something like this in the end? She only wanted half his liver, not his life!"
"And in the end, she even found a look-alike to remember him by. She must have truly loved him so much, waaah!"
...
Sitting in her chair as if on pins and needles, Lu Xiao felt like she was going to die of sheer frustration.
’Isn’t this just one of those angsty, organ-sacrificing melodramas?’
But what Lu Xiao found most disgusting, even more so than other novels of this type she’d encountered, was that the female found a replacement in the end to show her "deep love."
’Damn it, that ’deep love’ is worth less than dog shit!’
Lu Xiao was thoroughly disgusted. She simply couldn’t empathize with the people around her.
Teacher Ai Li and Teacher Sherry were both wiping their tears, looking as though they were moved beyond words by this "beautifully tragic" love story.
Lu Xiao, however, just wanted to go home.
’I really want to go home. This world is terrifying. If I ever watch a movie again, I’m a dog!’
’No, calling myself a dog would be an insult to dogs!’
’I’d be a tortoise, a thousand-year-old tortoise!’
When she saw Ares at the entrance, Lu Xiao even felt the urge to cry.
She felt so awful that she left without saying goodbye to the four teachers.
Lost in the film’s tragic atmosphere, the four teachers didn’t even notice.
Lu Xiao sat in the car, clearly in a terrible mood. Ares wanted to say something, but worried that she didn’t want to be disturbed at that moment.
Just as he was hesitating, the previously quiet young female beside him suddenly burst out, "Seriously, is Audrey sick in the head?!"
It was the first time Ares had ever seen such anger on Lu Xiao’s face.
"...Was the movie that bad?" He had seen that the females coming out just now all had red eyes, as if they had been crying.
He had also snuck a glance at Lu Xiao. She hadn’t cried; at the time, she looked more like she had suffered some kind of blow and hadn’t recovered yet.
"I was disgusted, Ares! It makes me sick just thinking about it now. Tell me, how on earth could Audrey write something so repulsive!" The more Lu Xiao thought about it, the angrier she got, until she felt physically ill from the rage. "I’m going to write something when I get back, too! I’ll write something to disgust *them* right back! Otherwise, I’ll never get over how disgusted I feel!"
Ares looked at Lu Xiao, who had suddenly become so agitated. "Okay," he said. "If doing that will make you feel a little better, I support you."
Lu Xiao reached out, wrapped her arms around his, and leaned against him, nuzzling his shoulder. "Ares, you’re the best. You’re the only one who’s on my side!"
Ares sat there, his whole body stiff. He didn’t dare move, afraid that the slightest motion would startle the young female who was being affectionate with him.
Unfortunately, Lu Xiao didn’t nuzzle him for long. Once her emotions settled, her fighting spirit ignited. "Just you wait! I’ll definitely write a novel that will shock the entire Empire! And when my novel becomes a hit, I’ll have it made into a film and screen it all over the Empire—a hundred times!"
Ares felt a pang of disappointment after Lu Xiao let go of his arm, but seeing the young female’s spirit return, a smile touched his eyes. His voice was full of affection as he said, "Okay!"
