’Everything is a little stranger than I expected.’

I thought as I walked.

’Lightning Tiger didn’t create his guardian—it was the other way around. Raiden founded this noble house and taught them the very same powers he possesses. That means every action taken by the house has Raiden’s approval and will. In other words, it was his will that I obtained that fang and went through all of that. Why?’

I pondered, remembering my time with the king and the royal court.

’The king wanted power and saw it in me and the others, and that’s why he forced other houses to teach us. But Raiden wasn’t just teaching—he was offering even more. Why?’

I took a deep breath, recalling even more of the past. A time when I understood nothing about this world.

In the sky, two beasts were fighting. Both were males—the only two adult males I had ever seen in my entire life.

’There are two possibilities: Raiden needs us for some obscure reason, or... he is our father.’

A chill ran through my body just imagining it. Could it be that this tiger was our father?

The odds still leaned toward Sun Eater, after all, we were inside his territory.

Even so, Sun Eater didn’t seem to have that kind of attitude toward us.

Raiden was more careful, while Sun Eater seemed more cunning.

"Mr. Kai," the angelic maid spoke beside me in front of a double door. "The accommodations may be a bit more comfortable if you take this."

She showed me a small golden pill.

"And what would that be?" I asked cautiously.

"A temporary human transformation pill. It lasts about a day. It will give you a human form equivalent to your current one."

"Hmmm, I don’t feel very comfortable using these things. I’m afraid of the side effects."

"I promise you it’s very safe!" she said with conviction. "Besides... I can’t share the bed with you in this form... that would be asking too much of me." Her ears turned red along with her face.

My ears perked up again as my heart started beating faster and faster.

"Oh... so that’s what we’re talking about." I glanced around to make sure no one was listening. "I suppose in that case, it wouldn’t be such a big problem."

I nodded, and she opened the door.

I frowned.

The room was large, with a gigantic bed and, beside it, a pile of gifts just as big.

Euphy was sitting on the edge of the bed, staring at the pile of presents with shining eyes.

I immediately murmured to the maid.

"I thought the gifts were supposed to stay in my room."

"They were... apparently the previous staff thought you would spend the night together. But don’t worry, we’ll fix that quickly."

"Fix what?" Euphy spoke from across the room, her sharp hearing catching everything.

I sighed and took a step forward.

"They thought we were a couple and gave us only one room," I said, ignoring the presents. "But if you want, you can keep this room and these gifts."

"Really? Can I?!" She smiled happily, barely containing herself from rushing to the pile and tearing open every package.

"Of course," I nodded. "In any case, I see you’re fine, so I’ll let you rest."

I turned, gesturing for the maid to take me to a new room... one in which I would spend the entire night awake.

"Wait!" Euphy called from behind. "Don’t trouble them—stay the night here. We’re already used to sleeping together anyway." She shrugged.

"Sleeping together in the wilderness and sleeping in a double bed are two very different things, Euphy," I pointed out. "Others will think all sorts of things."

’Please, let me go, just this once. Paradise is within reach!’

"Let them think," she said. "I don’t mind." She looked away.

"So...?" the angelic maid asked, waiting for a definitive answer, a certain expectancy in her voice.

’She wants too! Euphy —why not let us both be happy?!’

"..."

No one spoke. I didn’t have the courage to make a decision at that moment.

’Damn it!’

"Leave the damn pills in the bathroom," I sighed. "I’ll spend the night here..." I almost cried at the end of the sentence.

She nodded, sad and unhappy, and did so, heading to the bathroom of that room—one with a bathtub as expensive and luxurious as a hotel suite.

’I could do so many things in one of those...’

"Leave a change of clothes for yourself. If you need anything, call me." I nodded in response.

"What are those pills?" Euphy asked curiously.

"Human transformation pills," I replied dryly as I walked toward the bathroom.

"Oh, right! That’s good... since you’re very heavy... sleeping with you on that bed in that form would be terribly uncomfortable."

I snorted, ignoring her words.

In the bathroom, I closed the door as best I could and quickly put one of the pills in my mouth. Without thinking much, I swallowed it. My body began to contort rapidly, like something out of a horror movie.

"So? How is it?" Euphy said amused. "Are you an action-movie heartthrob, or maybe a young bad boy?" She laughed.

However, my thoughts were far from her.

"My Primordial Force changed." I clenched my hand a few times, flame, wind, earth, and water being summoned. "I think I can fly again..."

Putting on a black robe, the opposite of Gravis’s, I left the bathroom. Euphy looked at me with a curious expression.

"This is different from what I expected..." she commented, making me laugh.

"My mutations are still visible, but that was expected. But it surprises me that my bestial traits were hidden." I looked at my hand, still dark, as if magma flowed through my veins. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

The area around my eyes was still marked as if with black paint.

It was inevitable that I would have the appearance of a teenage villain, with rebellious hair and sharp features.

At least, in this life, I was tall—very tall.

Euphy swallowed hard, her eyes filled with a strange emotion. Then she looked away once more.

She cleared her throat.

"A bit different, but it certainly matches what I imagined. Ten out of ten." Once again, I laughed.

"Anyway, I’m going for a walk. I want to have a little chat with Raiden." I walked toward the window under Euphy’s curious gaze.

"But the door is on the other side—" Suddenly, the wind exploded, carrying me with it and throwing the room into chaos.

I laughed in delight, flying over the Lightning Tiger castle. Lightning after lightning struck around me, but none of them hit me.

"Freedom..." I murmured with my back to the castle, gazing at the sky, then let myself fall, feeling gravity at its peak.

My body dropped like a meteor toward the ground, every hair on my body standing on end as I simply laughed in exhilaration.

Just as the ground was about to collide with me, my body twisted midair, changing its trajectory and rising once more.

’For twenty-four hours, my power increased exponentially.’

"Since when..." Raiden murmured and sighed as I landed on the balcony of his room. "In any case, I suppose you came to talk in private."

"Of course. I want answers," I said firmly. "This time, we have time."
