Hellbound With The Vampire King-Chapter 97: Meeting The High Priest (2)
Chapter 97: Meeting The High Priest (2)
The warrior frowned, but eventually heeded and they began to walk in a slower pace that Serena was comfortable with, as they continued walking, Serena could not stand the silent, she decided to try a different approach. "What should I call you?"
"The king said that I should focus on the task and not on pleasantries." the knight responded.
With that Serena didn’t speak more on this, it was obvious he had been warned, but why? It wasn’t like she had any ulterior notice as to why she was asking for his name or something. Was it possible that Eiravyn was so jealous and insecure? Serena wondered, but ended up shaking her head. There was no way someone like Eiravyn would be jealous.
Serena brushed it off, and focused on the mission as she felt that walking in this heels was already a huge mission. It was strange Serena thought, they had been walking for hours but it seemed like they were still within the walls of the royal house as she could still hear the faint music coming from the grand floor. Was the royal house that huge? She wondered. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Serena stopped walking after a while and asked, "How much further do we have to go?" questioned Serena, she couldn’t help the silence, and she felt like she had been walking for years now. "Just moment ago you said we were almost there but it’s been hours and we still haven’t reached there. And don’t you dare repeat the same word because I won’t have it, I’m tired right now. Just spell it out for me. It’s still quite far, isn’t it?"
The warrior too stopped two steps behind her and he really did what Serena asked him to do, he spelled it out, painfully slow, saying. "It’s still very far."
Serena groaned in frustration. How can someone be so annoying? She glanced back and huffed at the insufferable man before continuing her journey.
The walk down the corridor lasted for a while before they took on another dark corridor, the only source of light was the candlelabras that were hung in the corridors wall from the begining to the end. There was nothing Serena could do but to preserve since Eiravyn told her last night that they would be meeting the hight priest before the banquet ceremony.
After the meeting with the royal court ended, Eiravyn left the royal court room to prepare for the banquet ceremony, he was currently inside his chamber, his personal valet, Fenrir, along with two other male servants were helping him get ready together after Eiravyn had his bath. It’s been close to three hours since he got back from the royal court and he could not help but wonder if his note got to Serena already and what she thought of it. This was the very first time he had hand written something like that and it had only been because his royal aide, Caspian had suggested for him to do so, when he find out that his king was worried.
It looked like the incident this afternoon really got to him. He hoped she would understand his intention in doing that. Speaking of the devil, Celrean and Caspian, the king’s royal commander and his royal aide entered the room together and for the first time they was no commotion amongst the two men.
The young men were dressed sharply and handsomely, with Celrean wearing a ceremonial clothes meant for the commander of the royal knights, he looked sharp and intimidating, he was dressed in a sleek black leather cuirass aftned with silver etchings, resembling the curves of a wolf’s claws. A crimson cloak, lined with silver thread, cascaded down his back, symbolizing his loyalty to the crown, a ceremonial sword, etched with the royal emblem, hung at his side, and his hand rested leisurely on it, while Caspian was donning a former attire bearing the crest of his family’s name, Aegon, with a royal crest pinned at the left side of his chest, he looked as charming as ever.
Caspian looked at Celrean who stood there by the door like a statue and could not help but roll his eyes at the annoying man. "What’s up with this provocative pose?" he asked, but got no response from the royal commander and that seemed to have gotten to him.
"Look at you trying to overshadow me, when you know fully well that I would still be the center of attention of the lady. You can only try."
Eiravyn heard Caspian remark from the other smiled and lightly. ’Just when he thought his two men were finally in harmony.’ He thought in his mind.
"No one’s trying to take your role as the biggest player in the kingdom, you dimwit." The commander had been keeping his cool throughout today but Caspian kept bothering him, he had enough of the lousy man’s pestering.
Celrean remark made the young aide to pause, "Right now, you look like a more bigger girl player than I could ever be, and what do you think you’re doing there by the door acting all cool."
"At least I’m better at something and not like someone in this room, who can’t even secure his image, it’s a pity don’t you think." Celrean said while cocking his head to the left.
Caspian gasped in surprise at the insults to his person and was about to retort when he saw Eiravyn walk into the room. The servants had all stepped out, indicating that their king had finished getting ready.
"Woo!!!" Caspian made a funny sound immediately he saw his king and couldn’t help but to comment. "Such a handsome king." Celrean gave a approving nod to his word, for the first time.
