Help! I unknowingly enrolled myself into a supernatural Academy-Chapter 69: Hideous lips
A palpable silence hung between Julian and Ashton after Axel’s outburst. They were truly speechless. Julian eventually broke the tension, trying to sound reasonable.
"How is it our fault that Zane kissed you?" he asked Axel, a slight edge creeping into his voice. "We’re just trying to tell you that you’re overreacting. You know what, let’s help you get your mind off of it. Now, let’s talk about something else, like the punishment the Disciplinary Committee gave you."
Julian’s focus shifted, and he quickly noticed something about Aiden. Instead of his angry expression receding, it seemed to deepen, the lines around his eyes becoming more pronounced. Julian, concerned, took hold of Aiden’s arm and began dragging him toward the sitting room so they could all finally sit down.
"What?" Julian questioned, his voice full of dread. "Don’t tell me your punishment is heavy. Did they try to expel or suspend you? Oh my goodness, that’s the worst possible scenario!"
Aiden finally spoke, shaking his head. "They didn’t expel me or suspend me. In fact, I would’ve preferred that to my actual punishment."
He took a deep breath, preparing himself, and then started explaining everything that had happened in the disciplinary hall to Ashton and Julian. Aiden recounted how he had initially thought that Mr. Nikolai was a reasonable and honorable man, only to realize later that the man was nothing more than a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He explained how the man had given them a double whammy: the punishment of writing a twenty-thousand-word letter and telling them to clean an abandoned building. All of this had to be done within three days. Aiden was convinced Mr. Nikolai had done this simply because he was a petty man and angry at them.
Aiden finished his story, throwing his hands up in exasperation as he addressed Julian and Ashton. "Now, you two tell me, if it were you, wouldn’t you be angry too? How can that man call twenty thousand words a letter? Who writes a letter that long? It’s not like I want to narrate my entire life story, from the time I was a baby up until now, in that letter! I’m even sure my life story wouldn’t take up twenty thousand words. Isn’t that wickedness of the highest order?"
Ashton, who had been listening with growing shock, was left speechless for a moment. He finally managed to collect his thoughts. "The cleaning of the building is still normal," he conceded, "but the writing of a twenty-thousand-word letter is just too extreme. Well, we can help you write part of it, okay?"
A genuine smile finally touched Aiden’s lips. "Well, I appreciate the offer," he said, his voice softening, "but this man is so wicked that he said he will check it against our original handwriting, and if anything is incorrect, then we’ll have an additional punishment."
Julian grimaced, recoiling at the sheer level of vindictiveness. "What did you guys do to annoy the man to this extent?" he asked Aiden. "Because this is another level of pettiness."
Aiden just shrugged, his frustration evident. "I don’t know. I know we’ve been very respectful, so I really don’t know what pissed off that man."
Ashton, ever the problem-solver, suddenly brightened. "But you’ve just resumed here at Skyline Academy, and you haven’t had any academic classes yet.
That means you haven’t written anything for the school! Mr. Nikolai won’t be able to cross-check your writing, which means we can still help you!"
Aiden’s eyes widened in pleasant surprise. It was a loophole that could actually work.
However, Julian quickly cut in, pointing out a potential flaw. "Then what if, when Aiden goes to submit his ’twenty-thousand-word letter,’ that petty Mr. Nikolai asks Aiden to write something in a book just to check if the handwriting is one and the same with the one in the letter?"
Aiden deflated immediately. The joy vanished as quickly as it had arrived. "Seriously, I don’t understand what that man’s problem is," he groaned. "Is he jealous of our youth, so he’s trying to find a way to make us tired and weary?"
Julian thought for a while, tapping his chin. Then, a spark of inspiration lit up his eyes. "I have an idea. A spell just came to mind. I saw the spell in one of my family’s Grimoires. I need to cast the spell on a talisman, and the spell can replicate the thing it sees physically.
So, if you write something down on a book, and we use the spell on two talismans, then Ashton can stick one on his hand to replicate Aiden’s handwriting, and I can also stick one on my hand to replicate your handwriting. That way, there won’t be a problem even if Mr. Nikolai wants to cross-check!"
A wide, relieved smile spread across Aiden’s face, though he quickly forced himself to stop smiling because his mouth still hurt from all the scrubbing he had done earlier. "Really? There’s a spell like that? Will it work?"
"We won’t know until we try it," Julian replied, already standing up. "I’m coming right back."
He walked toward his room and returned shortly, holding two long, thin, white pieces of paper.
"What’s that?" Aiden asked, curiosity overcoming his pain.
"This is talisman paper," Julian explained.
Aiden nodded. "Oh, okay."
Julian then asked Aiden to write something down on a book. Aiden agreed and hurried into his own room to grab a notebook and a pen. He returned to the sitting room, sat back down in his original seat, and quickly wrote a few words on the page.
Ashton whistled admiringly. "Wow, you have such a perfect handwriting."
Aiden smiled faintly. "Thank you."
After writing, Aiden watched as Julian carefully placed the two talisman papers on the page he had written on. Julian then began saying some words that Aiden definitely didn’t recognize, repeating the chant three times. The two talisman papers began to glow with a soft, ethereal light. After a moment, the glow subsided.
Julian smiled happily, triumphant. "I think it worked. This is the first time I am trying out a spell like this." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Julian passed one of the newly energized talismans to Ashton and then stuck it onto Ashton’s hand. With a pen in hand, Ashton wrote on the same page where Aiden had written before. The handwriting was an exact replica of Aiden’s.
Aiden couldn’t help but whistle, a sound of pure awe escaping him. "Wow, wow! Really, witches are so awesome, awesome to the point that it’s crazy!"
Ashton was equally excited by the immediate success. "You’re really great, Julian! Imagine someone offending you and you just have to write some discriminatory word using that person’s handwriting.
Wouldn’t that cause the person pain when the school authorities saw the kind of word the person wrote?"
Julian snickered and laughed. "You’re thinking too much, Ashton. This is a very simple spell that anyone with more knowledge than me can reverse. The reason we’re using it now is because Aiden said Mr. Nikolai is a wolf, meaning he doesn’t know anything about witches spells, or all that, so he won’t suspect anything."
Ashton pouted, his lips puckered in disappointment. "Well, that’s really a bust then. I thought that if someone offended me, I could just get you to help me with this kind of spell, but now you’re saying we’ll be caught."
Aiden burst into laughter. The sight of Ashton pouting was so unexpectedly cute that Aiden couldn’t help himself. "But you don’t really need to pucker your lips," he teased. "Or is it that you need a kiss? If that’s what you want, then I am willing to sacrifice my lips. Come here."
Ashton immediately scooted away from Aiden, laughing as he went. "Why on earth would I want to be kissed by your mangled flesh of a lip?" he retorted playfully.
"Seriously, Aiden, you look hideous right now! How could you do this to yourself?"
