Her Dark Desires-Chapter 44: Difficulty In Getting Pregnant Again

"I’ve signed the discharge papers, and the doctor said your mother has also been discharged," Zach said as he watched Eliana take off her hospital gown to wear the clothes he had gotten for her this morning. His eyes glance at her belly for a brief moment before looking away.

"Can you help me with the zip?" Eliana asked after her failed attempt to zip up her gown herself.

Zach walked forward and zipped up her gown. He stood silently behind her for a brief seconds before wrapping his hand around her waist and whispered "I love you." He kissed her neck and repeated, "I love you."

"Why?" Eliana found herself asking. She turned to him and said, "Now that I think about it, there is a truth in what Sloane said."

"No, there isn’t."

"I wasn’t asleep, Zach. I heard what the doctor told you."

Zachary stood frozen for a moment, he had thought she was asleep that day.

Eliana smiled bitterly "He said it would be difficult for me to get pregnant again. I heard it all."

"That doesn’t mean anything."

"But it means everything. It means I can never give you a child again. You may think it doesn’t matter now, but a day will come when you will begin wishing for your child, your blood, and may end up resenting me for not giving it to you."

"You are not being fair to me, Eli. Do you still believe that the only reason I married you was because of the child? The baby was just an excuse for me to make you mine. Eliana, even if it is just you and me for the rest of our lives, then it’s all right with me. You are all that I need, just you, my beautiful Eli." Zach pulled her into his embrace and smiled when she hugged him back.

Amber Room

"Dad can’t be serious, Nolan Woods is twice my age. I can’t get married to him." Amber cried to her mother.

"Calm down. You won’t get married to him. We just need some time for our plan to work."

"But we don’t have time for our plan to work. It will take time for Zachary or Ryan to even enter our trap because they are calculated men, and Dad won’t let me wait that long. Didn’t you hear him, he wants me to wed that perverted old man before the end of the month." Amber shouted.

"Mom, you have to help me. Please help me. My life will be ruined if I get married to Nolan. Help me, Mom."

Sloane sighed and closed her eyes as if she was in thought, and after a few seconds, she opened her eyes "There is a way, but....."

"But what?" Amber urged.

"It still involves you getting married. Your dad needs financial support and unless he gets it, he will never stop trying to sell you off. The way things are now, it will be difficult for you to enter the Sanders family, but if you marry the person I tell you to marry, then you will still be the woman at Zachary’s side at the end of the day."

"And who do you wish I marry?"

Sloaneet smiled as she said, "Jason Lennox."

"What?"

"The Lennox family comes from old money. They have wealth, influence, and power, but importantly, they can help your father regain his foothold without fearing the Sanders destroying them."

"You want me to marry Jason, no. That is unacceptable, there is no way I will get married to Eliana’s trash."

"Is that so? Then better start preparing your wedding with Nolan then and stop bothering me." Sloane replied coldly and wanted to walk out when she heard Amber asking

"How do I convince Jason to marry me?"

Sloane stopped and turned to Amber "Simple, you sleep with him. Just get in bed with him and I will handle the rest."

Amber clenched her fist as she thought of how all these were Eliana’s fault. Zachary was supposed to be her husband and now she has to be married off to Jason.

"You should be smiling. Marrying Jason is better than marrying Nolan, and after the Lennox has helped us restore our financial status, we can find a way for you to divorce him." Sloane said with a smile.

"The Lennox has refused to help us before, will they help us just because of a marriage?"

"They will. I know David very well, and if there is one thing that is popular about that man, it is that he can do anything for his son." Sloane smiled as she saw the future in front of her. The Sanders were truly mistaken if they thought the Moore family would fall. Her eyes were filled with rage as she thought of how Eliana beat her up and said to Amber "You will still get Zach, that I promise you."

Zachary gently helped Eliana to lie down on the bed and asked "Do you need anything?"

Eliana shook her head and said, "I’m fine, Zach."

Zachary didn’t know what to say. He felt like he needed to do something but didn’t know what and this feeling made him feel so useless.

The room was filled with silence until Eliana softly broke it "Do you suspect Amber and Sloane?"

One thing Zachary has noticed about Eliana is how she slowly started calling her mother by her name, it was as if she no longer saw Sloane as her mother.

"I do suspect them and once we find that Mason guy, we will be able to know for certain if it is them or someone else." He looked at his wife and wondered what she was thinking. The room suddenly became silent again and he was about to leave, allowing her to rest when he heard her asking.

"And the cab driver?"

Zachary stood still for a few seconds before he looked at her in the eyes and said "I killed him."

"You killed him?" Eliana asked calmly.

Zachary clenched his fist. He didn’t want her to see him as a monster, but at the same time, he didn’t want to lie to her. "Yes, I shot him dead."

Eliana was quiet for a few seconds, but those seconds felt like hours to Zachary because he was wondering what she thought until he heard her say, "Good."
