Hero's Carnage-Chapter 21: Agility, Intelligence, and Perception
Ten minutes after the break started, Jack Newton returned to the room and said, "Alright, let's now talk about the last three Stats."
"For your third Stat, Agility, it increases your flexibility, stamina, and overall speed, allowing you to move faster and keep moving at peak speed for a long time."
"Let me give you an example— Lightning God, who bears a Hero-rank Character Status, invested most of his points into Agility, allowing him to move faster than a bullet being fired from a gun, and he can keep that speed for many minutes."
"In fact, let me give you examples for Strength and Vitality as well. Another Hero-rank Player known as Red Berserker has invested most of his points into one stat— Strength."
"He's so powerful that he can lift a whole cruise ship that weighs over 50,000 tons with his bare hands. Of course, you need to keep in mind that those with Hero-rank Character Statuses cannot be compared to the ordinary Player. They're more like monsters than humans when you consider their inhuman power and godlike abilities, and each of them has the capabilities to destroy the world."
"Next is the Hero known as Indestructible Mason, who had invested all of his points into Vitality. He's so durable that he could tank a hit from nuclear missiles and walk away with minor injuries on his body."
The newbies were left speechless by Jack's examples. Although they were aware that Heroes were incredibly powerful beings, they didn't know that they were this powerful.
"Keep in mind that what I just said is merely public knowledge and most of the Heroes don't reveal their true power, so you never know how powerful they truly are," Jack said.
"Anyways, back to the topic, Agility is a great choice for those who like to move fast, especially if you have an ability that allows you to move quicker, or you have an ability that grows more powerful the faster you move."
"Next is Intelligence, which is arguably the most popular Stat out of the five besides Strength. Why? Simply because the higher your Intelligence, the more mana you get to have and the more powerful your magic abilities grow. Every point you put into Intelligence increases your total mana by 10."
"Now I know some of you are thinking that 10 mana per point is a lot and that may be the case for you right now, but you should know that as you level up your abilities the more mana you will need to use them! Furthermore, if you have magic-based abilities, you can overcharge your abilities by using more mana than needed to greatly enhance its destructive power!"
"For example, you have an ability that only requires 10 mana to use. You can actually overcharge the ability and use 20… even 100 mana to increase its power!"
"Obviously, the more mana you put into the ability the more powerful it gets! However, there are limits to overcharging your abilities! If you go overboard and lose control over your ability, it could blow up in your face and damage you— even outright kill you, so I urge you to be careful when overcharging your abilities!"
'I can overcharge my abilities and make them stronger? Interesting…' Lucas found this piece of information to be very useful, and he wondered if he could overcharge Devastate to kill higher leveled monsters.
"For the last Stat, we have Perception, which enhances your senses and reaction time, and just Vitality and Agility, you won't really benefit from this Stat too much unless you heavily invest into it."
"For example, the Hero Divine Sense Luna who invested all of her points into Perception can hear footsteps from miles away and even claims to have the ability to see a few seconds into the future, allowing her to pretty much avoid all danger when inside a dungeon."
"Now that you have an idea about what each of the Stats does, you should know how to distribute them to benefit your abilities the most. However, make sure you're absolutely certain because once you distribute your points because once you make a mistake, it's almost impossible to fix it."
"While there is a treasure out there that can reset your Stats and allow you to redistribute your points, that treasure is incredibly rare and valuable— so much so that it's inaccessible to the majority of the world."
"We still have some time left for the class, so if you have any questions, now is the time to ask. If you are still unsure about how to distribute your points, I might be able to give you some suggestions. If you have no questions, you may leave the class now."
Although Lucas didn't have any questions, he decided to stay behind just in case someone asks a question that might have useful information.
However, he ended up leaving the classroom half an hour later without any more useful information.
After class, Lucas went to grab some food before returning to his room to ponder about how he should distribute his points.
"Vitality and Perception are pretty much out of the equation since they don't affect my main abilities, nor do they benefit my style."
"Agility… Do I really need to run faster when I already have the ability Vanishing Steps?"
"Now that I think about it, I can obtain all five Stats from slaying monsters with skills that boost Stats, so even if I don't invest in these three Stats, they will eventually increase through my Plunder ability."
"Now the question is whether I invest my points into Strength or Intelligence…" Lucas closed his eyes to ponder while he laid on the bed.
