Hidden Desires - Family Secrets-Chapter 169 Can you try to forgive her just this once? Part 1
"Can you try to forgive her just this once?" Luna’s voice echoed through the room, halting my temple-rubbing in mid-motion.
I looked up, my face a mix of confusion and surprise.
Luna was pleading for Betty?
This was utterly unexpected, not the normal reaction at all.
She should be happy at this moment, free from Betty’s constraints, able to chase what she wanted.
But why would she say this?
Had Betty brainwashed her last night?
"Last night, Betty and I talked a lot.
I’ve always focused on you, completely ignoring your wife.
But after talking all night... I learned a lot, even things I shouldn’t know.
I won’t say more than necessary, but as a woman, I can empathize with part of her feelings.
She truly loves you, and it makes me feel inadequate.
Though I love you too, I don’t want to break you two apart right now.
Instead, I hope you can reconcile?" Luna said, her voice tinged with ambiguity as she observed my stunned expression.
"Aren’t you usually uncompromising in your hatred?
So, I should just swallow my pride because my own wife cheated on me?
Am I still a man?
You’re seeing it from her side, but have you ever considered mine?"
The thought of Luna siding with Betty after just one night made me feel like I had lost the last person who understood me, deepening the sorrow in my heart.
The world seemed colorless, everything absurdly laughable.
"Justin, don’t get worked up, just hear me out.
Your wife told me everything last night, about your marriage, and about the issues with your adopted son.
I despise her actions, but hearing about your relationship and her attitude towards me... she showed no hostility, only gratitude for my help in saving you.
If I were in her shoes, I wouldn’t ask for your forgiveness; I’d question your relationship with this woman.
It’s okay for officials to start fires but not for the common folk to light lamps?
But your wife didn’t start with that assumption.
She thought you were cheating too.
She believed you had a mistress like me, but her eyes told me she’d do anything for your happiness.
If she can bear this guilt for you, why can’t you?
Maybe you could try?" Luna spoke, her eyes still showing a hint of reluctance, her advice not entirely heartfelt.
"Enough..." I couldn’t control my emotions any longer and stood up from the couch, my voice echoing in the room.
"Women... haha... Do you say these things without betraying your conscience?
All the same..."
I felt utterly disillusioned.
If Luna had used any other reason to persuade me, even saying "a night of marriage equals a hundred days of grace" would have been more comforting and realistic than what she had just said.
Just because a woman treats you well, you should wear the hat of a cheater?
To me, that reasoning was laughable.
I had thought about it—if I were an outsider, I’d advise keeping the marriage together since everyone makes mistakes.
Why not give this marriage another chance?
Maybe once my emotions settled, I could convince myself, but Luna didn’t realize her words had the opposite effect, adding fuel to the fire.
"I may not have your high status, but at least I am faithful to my family and love, never swayed by others’ manipulations, including yours...
There’s nothing more to discuss.
Don’t bother me anymore... and thanks for your care..."
I said as I walked to the door, opened it, and stepped out, leaving Luna behind without following me, only a sigh lingering in the air.
As I descended the stairs, Betty’s eyes widened with a flicker of fear when she spotted me.
By the time I reached the front door, Betty had sprinted behind me, suddenly clutching my thighs with a surprising strength that belied her usual frailty, rendering me unable to step forward.
"Please, don’t leave me, okay?
I was wrong, truly wrong.
I’ll do anything, just name your price.
I’ll stay by your side, you can even have affairs if it keeps you with me.
I won’t make any more mistakes, okay?"
Betty’s grip was desperate as she sobbed these words, her voice dripping with despair.
"What exactly did you tell her?
What are you both trying to do?"
I was stuck, unable to move without hurting Betty, so after a deep breath, I looked down and spoke to her.
"I told her everything about us, including what happened with Michael..."
Betty murmured under my intense gaze, her eyes darting away, her words cautious.
"Is that all?"
I asked, my laugh cold and hollow.
"Did you think about finding me a lover to make it up to me?"
Betty remained silent, and I vented my anger sarcastically.
"You two are cut from the same cloth..."
Betty’s words and my recent turmoil exhausted my patience.
I was also disappointed in Luna.
Perhaps I was too agitated now; maybe if I calmed down, I could see things differently...
I shook off Betty’s hands and freed myself from her hold, walking out the door to leave this city forever.
But just as I took a step, a sharp zap sounded by my ear, and my body went numb.
I collapsed to the floor, paralyzed yet fully conscious, my eyes wide open, taking in everything around me.

"Ah... what are you doing?
Why are you hurting him?"
Betty’s scream pierced the air as she rushed to my side and cradled me in her arms.
My head was spinning, my body paralyzed, unable to even twitch a finger.
I realized I had been tased.
Lying powerless in Betty’s arms, my neck rested against her soft, familiar breasts.
Her body’s scent was unchanged, and oddly, feeling her close and inhaling her familiar fragrance, I felt an unexpected peace and comfort.
Slowly, I closed my eyes, not from a desire to faint, but from sheer exhaustion.
I didn’t know how long I slept, but I awoke groggily to find myself in a large bed with a voluptuous body beside me.
This body was radiating heat, and though I couldn’t see her with my eyes closed, something felt unfamiliar about it.
Soon, I felt a warm sensation enveloping my lower body, waves of pleasure washing over me.
I realized I could move again and instinctively shifted from passive to active...
After some time, I finally opened my eyes to find myself in Luna’s bed, wearing only my underwear, with Luna beside me in a nightgown, the bed a mess and the room filled with a musky male scent.
What had happened?
Luna’s nightgown, revealing her arms marked with faint kiss traces, suggested more hidden beneath.
Recalling the dream-like events, I wondered if it was all a dream or reality.
I got up and looked back at the bed.
There, amidst the tangled sheets, were clear traces of dried fluids, with a stark red mark standing out vividly.
Feeling an unusual sensation in my groin, I knew without a doubt what had occurred.
I had unwittingly slept with Luna.
What was done was done and couldn’t be changed.
At that moment, Luna stirred awake, her eyes opening to find me standing there.
